@BoyBetterKnow94 Try turning the switch on the Xbox input part of the cable to HD if there is one. That should fix it. I would have responded earlier, but I never saw your comment.

I recommend plugging the red/white audio cables into Turtle Beaches or some third party headset that can use these. Of course you'll still have exposed cable plugs, but it will still work. You might want to find some way to protect the plugs, though.

@LFCTraynor vga cable is wicked.i got it years ago like back in 2006 but then i started using the original hd leads then went to hdmi,i have hd tv 2 of them 32 +42 now my 42 is 1080p and my 32 is 720p now using the vga cable on the 32 looks amazing compared to using the hd lead or hdmi,you can pick the resolutions just a shame my 32 don't go up to like 1900x1600 or whatever it is,it looks so much sharper on the vga

i moded my ps2 to have female VGA connector it costed me less than a dollar including solder. i ordered my xbox 360 today and its gona get this mod for shure :). if your not handy with a soldering iron you should buy this cable deffinetly because it costs lot less than a HDTV and you can have the same quality as if you had one by connecting it to your pc monitor

got mine for 5 bucks. not a bad investment. as well you can buy a dual RCA to 3.5 mm headphone jack connection. then a female to female connector if you are using external speakers, but my monitor (its a cheap lcd tv with vga/composite/component/coaxia­l in) has sound input so all i needed was the aformentioned adapter. good review, but you forgot the Digital Audio output also on it (its the little square black thing on the end that plugs into the 360 :P )

My VGA cable came with an RCA Female to Male Stereo converter, I suppose you could plug that into the Line in on your computer and use your computer speakers...

I use used a Female RCA to Female Stereo converter and plug in a regular set of PC speakers to it.

You don't need a stereo. all you need to do is plug those red and white things into this little thing that comes with the xbox vga cable. then plug that into the blue audio thing on the back of your pc. thumbs up this so people can see

Dude u dont know anything bout tech.....You dont have to have a stereo system at all you cun buy a 3dollar converter or (chinch) to convert the two left and right outputs into one 3.5 standard jack...

It does do 1080p. Well it actually goes by different resolution numbers like 1250 x 1930 but that is basically 1080 p.

Can someone help me my tv is LCD HD runs on HDMI the picture is really good obviously but when I play halo it screen lags like a bitch when I look around or press a button what ever action that takes place occurs 2 or 3 secs later which annoying for example switching weapons takes longer than from switching weapons on 720p. Would the VGA help cancel all the lag out while running on 1080i?

@poliv67 okay i need to rephrase most tvs wont play that and the xbox wont display that due to the quality in the image would be bad and the xbox i doubt would be able to cope with the extra resolution for the games it plays- most cables can send huge resolutions e.g. vga or component but they limit them making the xbox's max resolution 1080i even if selected on 1080p

There seems to be some confusion with how the VGA and component cables work. I'll try to explain. Please be aware that BOTH VGA and components are capable of doing 1080p. Not all LCDs are capable of doing full 1080p on the VGA and Component inputs. They are restricted to what the TV or display is capable of doing. For example if your TV is only able to do 1080i or lower on the VGA cable then that is the TVs restricted setting on that input, not the VGA cable. Hope this clears things up a bit.

can i just say that offical vga cables come with a convertor block for the audio plugs. It is a small block that you plug the red and white in to and has a 3.5mm jack on the other side. I use this in my input on my pc so i can get xbox audio and pc audio at the same time for teamspeak or ventrilo as it better than xbox chat. It is hard to discride but it's about 1" h- 1"w - 1/2" thick but very handy. Hope this helps

Well, if everything is hooked up correctly like you say its either one of four things: either your monitor is broke, your cable is bad, your monitor doesnt support any resolution that the xbox does, or the resolution on the xbox is set to one that your monitor doesnt support.

Alright, sounds like a good idea. I seen three on walmarts website, 30, 20, and 15. I got a feeling the cheapest won't do 1080i, if I read a few good reviews about the one for 20 I'll get it, of not an extra ten isn't would be worth top notch. If it is a VGA in then it will work, however most of them on laptops are VGA out so you can use an external monitor with your laptop not use your laptop as a screen for something else. You will have to look at the specs on it and see what it is but my guess is no, it will not work.
