This clip is amazing to see these Two classy, legendary and Iconic figures in The Entertainment field. Thank God for youtube, film and TV archives that have saved and allow us to enjoy these Giants in Show Business..My paternal Grandmother's favorite actress was Bette Davis and they slightly resemble each other when they smoke and their facial features. Whenever I see Bette Davis always brings back a flood of great memories.
Who could hate this woman? it's a sin to do so. She's raw, interesting and most importantly HONEST. How many of us can be like that in our professions? We always have to kiss up and play like we enjoy what we do when the truth is most of us despise what we HAVE to do.
It's not widely known, but Bette Davis was reputed to be one of the funniest women ever. Her observations on her career and people she's known (and sometimes despised) would have you on the floor screaming, or so they say
yes i agree Theoz69, Yes, i agree and thats why i love her. She is not pretensious and says whats in her mind and she is witty and i just love her interviews. What an amazing woman!!!! . Meryl Streep reminds me so much of her. Imagine Bette Davis doing "the Devil wears Prada" ???
Before the stroke. On her last interview in the later 80's with Johnny, she was frail and thin, and the left side facial droop was noted. Her mind remained sharp as ever though. She was truly at her best of her later years at the time of this interview however. This was in 1982.
Bless you for posting these. I agree this was Davis at her 'mature' peak. I bet she could've done her whole Now Voyager performance from memory. (One sugestion- is there any way to divide and label these clips to make it easier to navigate? It took a while to figure out that 10b was the start of an interview clip, etc.)
Thank you for posting these! They are a treasure. I'm so elated to be able to see what she was like off screen, as I'm too young to have seen these interviews when they originally aired. What an awesome woman.
I always loved watching her on talk shows. She had such a great wit, which was surprising to me given the intense characters she played on the screen.
In this interview Bette Davis looks like Bette Davis of the 1940's, her most popular era, she looks amazing and at times you have to do a double take - such a shame her health was to ravage her so soon after this!!!! Belss her, she was just the best.
she's a great person

I agree...for a woman in her 70s who smokes as feverishly as she did, she is in excellent shape !
