Personally, I prefer the P990i, for serveral reasons:

1) Design: I think the p990i looks better than a P1i, it looks more modern and stylish, the colour combination is superb, and the materials don't feel cheap at all.

2) Removable keypad: This is one of the features I love. Like its little brothers (P800i,P900i,P910i) this is no exception.

To me the P1i was just trying to keep the original functions of the P series in a smaller size.

P1i is much much slower and it is crushing much more than the p990i... I had it and i sold it after 2 months... X Peria is the newest SE phone and it is very good and much better than the P1i. =)

Neither, the company making the OS (UIQ) has gone out of business. I would not reccomend a phone with this OS today. Look at iPhone, Nokia E75/E71, BB Bold/Curve, and if you can stand windows mobile, any of the new HTC devices

Probably has to do with firmware versions, i have no idea what version the p990 in the video was running. I dont think any apps was installed on either of the devices.
