  • brilliant video

  • An addiction is prolonged use of a drug without need. If I take ritalin for ADHD it doesn't mean I'm addicted. I need to use it to focus. If I didn't have ADHD and was using it with no medical reason to that would be an addiction.

  • Any centre for EEG in India?

  • @atty1chgo This will not be the case for all ADD/ADHD children, but one aspect that tends to be universal is that all ADD/ADHD childrenhave the ability to hyper focus on things they are truly interested in. And as a side effect, we have less attention span for things that bore us to death.

  • @atty1chgo For example, I have no auditory attention span. During a lecture, the information goes in one ear and out the other. But I've always been successful when I had more one-on-one help. If a teacher pointed out the information to me in my book, I was able to quickly identify what I should study and then the rest of my class time was spent reading.

  • @atty1chgo The important issues are to figure out how your child learns. Find his/her special faults and abilities. Then make sure he/she is in the proper learning environment.

  • @atty1chgo I switched to Adderall for a few years. Adderall does the job as far as focusing concentration goes, but you have to weigh the benefits versus the toll it take on the body, as well as the potential for abuse. If taken as a child, it can interfere with the body's developmental process. As an adult, there is a real risk for forming an addiction.

Now I don't take anything. Any drug taken for ADD/ADHD should be regarded as a TEMPORARY fix.

  • @jhurley3 I would ask what does it mean to have an addiction. To be "addicted" to drugs (as defined in wikipedia) is as follows: Historically, addiction has been defined as physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances (for example alcohol, tobacco, heroin and other drugs) which cross the blood-brain barrier once ingested, temporarily altering the chemical milieu of the brain.

  • Addiction can also be viewed as a continued involvement with a substance or activity despite the negative consequences associated with it. Pleasure and enjoyment would have originally been sought, however over a period of time involvement with the substance or activity is needed to feel normal

  • @jhurley3 I don't believe that taking amphetamines for ADHD can honestly be referred to as an "addiction"

  • @atty1chgo I used to be on meds. I was on Ritalin in my high school years.

I had a bad reaction with Ritalin. Physically, it made it me tired and left me dehydrated through most of the day. Mentally, I felt unattached with the rest of my peers, depressed, and still not able to focus on anything.

  • really, i still don't get it, how can a "mental disfunction" like ADD can be some sort of "gift" to people who still search "information and alternative treatments on the internet", intending to do the "best for their kids" even if they don't know whats "best"......

keep in mind that "misinformation" is WORSE than a "miracle fix quest" for a "gifted" ADD (yes without hyperactivity) patient.

    i just can't believe it.

  • hope to find videos from denmark but they are not any, sow i find alle from other countrys. hope to get more info to denmark. love your work in video. thanks.BettyTimotheussen

  • yes, there are many similarities to meditation. But imagine if you had a graphic that showed you how well you were meditating, which would help guide you step by step into the right state. It's a little like that.

  • who is making $ with stimulant medications ? Which industry might passively go out of their way to perform

surgery after surgery without medical necessity ? Who will lose clients when

treatment for EEG cost less than medications (with no side effects)

how many years did the tobacco industry

deny the link between tobacco and cancer. Do they continue to deny ?

Will they lie until their death rather than

admit the truth ? Well, here it is again.

Knowledge is power, if you dare.

  • I believe you, Sam, that you know your own feelings & how you interpret your perceptions. Someone very close to me has had a # of neurofeedback sessions & I can see for myself the change (calmer, focused, not easily rattled or accident-prone, can do more, etc).

Sending your video to someone I care about far away... This info Coming From You will make more of a difference than me saying the same words.

Thanks lots for telling your story, Sam, & caring Mom of Sam. Pls add updates over time?!

  • For those of you that are able to think for yourselves I ask that you review the research. As technology advances we are now at a point where pieces of your brain do not have to be removed in order to prevent seizures. Do not be afraid of what you do not understand, seek to learn about it. Our brainwaves are often

under-regulated or over-regulated Neurofeedback teaches the brain how to

    have improved self regulation without

medications. Come out of the past

    read about it.

  • coneyislandnights...

    A voice of Reason.

Lobotomies don't Fix --- they Break ppl instead (& permanently too). And are we to blindly accept that drugs are a longterm "answer" for all? If so then we're asking the wrong questions---or asking the wrong ppl (drug co's). I hear your msg as: Read all about it! Welcome to 2010; now respectfully educate yourselves.

    Thanx for speaking up!

  • wow u guys got problems...lol...its great if this helps and I agree drugging people up is NOT the answer...but u guys need to def chill out lol...

  • ADD and ADHD are simply 'illnesses' created by psychiatry as another excuse to sell drugs to people. I do NOT say that there are no symptoms, but pychiatric drugging is not the answer. This may be very unreal to many, but psychiatry is on a mission to label EVERY human emotion and problem as a MENTAL DISORDER with the attendent 'cure' - a psychiatric drug. Frightning! Check out 'Psychiatry; an industry of death'

  • your mother is an excuse for whores. shut your fucking mouth and kill yourself

  • OK! Calm down and read my comment again. I have obviously hit a raw nerve, but I cant help that as I am not responsible for your actions! EVERY word in my comment is true! You are showing your ignorance to the degree that you cant look at it and see it for what it is! Do you have any relationship with a psychiatrist? Trying to help a nut is like trying to help a wounded animal - dangerous, thankless and a fucking waste of time!

  • You are obviously mentally disturbed! I would advise going to see a doctor, but unfortunately you probably already have, and that is the reason for your misemotional outburst. Are you currently on psychiatric/psychotropic drugs? Are you on street drugs? Is there an area of your life that you wont confront? Being nuts is a choice - just the same as being a victim! Its your choice!

  • @LORDGODSIRALEXFERGIE You are so beyond ignorant on the subject of ADHD. I know this is a year later from your post. But I am posting this comment so that other people won't just take what you say seriously.

  • @atty1chgo I have done exhaustive research on this subject - how can I be "beyond ignorant"! Psychiatry is being exposed daily as "The emperors new clothes"! People the world over are coming to realise that psychiatrists are not experts in the field of the mind, human behaviour and human relations. And having no means or ability to actually HELP people or improve conditions and ADMIT this, they have BETRAYED instead! ADD, ADHD, bipolar etc are all made-up conditions for selling illnesses.

  • @LORDGODSIRALEXFERGIE I have ADHD - it isn't a fucking make believe condition. Try bullshitting someone else, dipshit.

  • @atty1chgo I never said that there was nothing wrong with you! Just that ADHD is a LABEL which allows the shrinks to evaluate you, invalidate you, label you, drug you, give you false data and leave you stigmatized, and worse of all believing that theirs is the only solution! You are obviously upset, but attacking me is simply having the wrong target! I am speaking the truth!

Answer me this, instead of attacking me - Do you feel better or worse after a visit your shrink?

  • @LORDGODSIRALEXFERGIE Your statement that ADHD is a false condition is what I was talking about. If you won't back off of that statement, there is no use talking to you at all.

  • This seems like a great way of helping kids with ADD. My Son was diagnosed with ADD Charistictics. and other disorders. I may have to see if my Insurance will pay for it this with blue cross.?

  • Wake up! ADD, ADHD, BSDJO & the rest are MADE UP GARBAGE! I could diagnose any disagreement or slightest upset between any couple as 'psuedomania marititis with a multiparadoxical complex' and bill them for it and give them mind-bending drugs! Cant you see that you are being taken in?

  • Thats been happening to me too, except with vyvanse. I've been tinkering with dosages and I've tried adderall too, I think the stimulants just aren't the right thing. This sounds really interesting,. How much did it cost?

  • You can either use neuro feedback or just practice meditation which worked pretty well for me cus I have adhd. It just helps you focus on more things better for more longer periods of time without distraction.

  • You dont have ADHD because it does not exist! - Its just a label to make people think that there is something wrong with them!

  • wow you call me ignorant for attacking you. YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID AND YOU NEED TO BE KILLED!

  • A guy is walking down the road after a heavy rainstorm and sees an old man with a fishing rod dipping it in and out of a rain puddle. He smiles to himself and says " caught many today?" The old man says " you would be the 15th today"! Ring any bells? Hurry up and answer - I am off to bed soon. - Different time zones old chap!

  • i didnt read ur comment i just want to let u know ur a fucking faggot

  • Of course you read it! - How would you know how to respond? Want to be pen-pals?

  • i had ADHD which lead me to develop anxiety and depression. EEG destroyed ADHD, cut my anxiety down 90% and kicked the shit out of my depression. If youre struggling with medication, unsatisfied with life or just want to better your brain research this therapy, could be the answer youre looking for.

  • i have similar problems with my ADHD, did medications just not work for you? and what was the EEG like?

  • @pardavillc bit late but.

i found ritalin dexamphetamine would make me hyper-react and would generally put me at unease. By chance i discovered this therapy at young age and my IQ jumped from 75 to 115 in perception, and everything in general went much better. Seems i was highly incompatible with drugs and my personality/structure was perfect for the type of therapy EEG was. I played pacman in 30 sessions by looking at a screen with nodes on my head and got better indefinitely.

  • awsome

  • I have Adult ADD and I began taking 100mg/day of Pycnogenol and 4000mg/day Omega-3 Fish oil. I feel calmer, have better memory and more confident! Both are all natural supplements I suggest everyone should try.

  • ADD... I don't see it as a gift at all. Not for me anyway. I find myself at age 50 pushing a broom for a living. Anything I try to acomplish to better myself seems to lead to a morass of frustration. Anybody who can fill me in a little on this "Neurofeedback for ADHD" business, please contact me.

  • I'm a 41 yr janitor that use to be a gifted kid whit over 145 IQ, I know how you feel, just a yr I find about Asperger and ADHD, at the begining I cry when I read the description, anger, deprecion now I feel some peace know what's up in my mind, some times I ask why this gift come whit this curse. Untrained Brain?

I'm just start experimenting my self whit binaural and afirmations whit some progress, but still need to find someting to get up and go out side.

  • i agree. this whole Gift thing is just denial-this disorder has ruined my life.

  • My son went to the Nadeau Educational Center in Cerritos, CA. It's just like this video. It was expensive, a little over 10,000 for the whole year. He is now reading like never before. I'd certainly give it a try.

  • Hi!

Here in Norway every university with a psychology department has an EEG lab with the possibility for nevrofeedback training. There are plenty studies on nevrofeedback/ADHD in the US, so you could contact a university close to you and ask if you either could be in one such study or if you could receive training during weekends or in the afternoons for a lab donation. That's possible here... Good luck!

  • I was diagnosed with ADHD I was 12 years old and was one of the first kids to be part of the BioFeedback experiments.

I had a very negative experience. It was not a beneficial for me in any sort of way.

I think it's important for parents to understand that their kids have a gift. The fact is, your kid is probably BORED in school!

It's a good thing to have a hyper-active imagination. When harnessed, this "Disorder" can be a wonderful gift.

  • I agree that ADHD can often be a gift. Many of the most capable and accomplished people on this earth had a hard time getting through school, and still have trouble when their enthusiasm and distractibility get in the way. That's why I'm opposed to locking down ADHD with meds. Neurofeedback is learning, it's a new skill the brain learns. Giving the child the opportunity to keep their enthusiasm and creativity as an asset, while at the same time being able to focus in class when they chose to.

  • Yes. I agree, I have ADHD.

My creativity has been to very good use during projects and I feel like I might be more gifted than some of my friends sometimes. At least on a creative level. :)

I think you can look at it in many ways, to bad some people even neglect the existance of ADHD. People can tell I have it even if I never say a word about it. :I

  • @jhurley3 Do you take meds or not?

  • That's just great, more research needs to be done on this. Thanks for posting this.

  • hey thanks for adding all neurofeedbacks videos =)

  • WOW!!!
