I am of tsalagi blood and live near a town in SC called tucapau or it sounds like tuckapawwhich from the tsalagi languag. maybe that is what is wrong with most of the people they think white, as a child I would hear my uncles do indian chants to us it was funny but they gave us some of what we need to know that we were tsalagi indians I dont hate my color nor do I hate brothers and sisters try to live as the great spirit wants the tsalagi morning song I know by heart. that is true @notiachaos
i am Maori native too New Zealand i have been listening to your music and i think it is absolutely beautiful. I think it is wonderful that like us we keep our languages and music and never loose it. Love to you all Caroline
One of my mom's favorite songs was Amazing Grace. She was half Cherokee. I wish I had known of this version. Thinking back, it would have been much better to have this song played at her wake than have some fat white woman performing Amazing Grace. "shakes head sadly"
I'm 3/4 Cherokee and very proud of this heritage in my childern as well as the rest of my family...I have been looking for a site that has just the Cherokee language and songs of our great nation.. Thank you for sharing this with us..God Bless
i am very proud that i am cherokee! god bless our people. even if u only have one drop of blood of cherokee it is ur pride that matters! tsalagi 4ever!
@lovesfireflight The 1 drop of blood mentality goes back to my own maternal Grandfathers teachings, from when I was a child. I thank him for my name and I wear it proudly Grandfather. Anidawehi ale odsa Adanedi
My father is 2/3 Native American (Cherokee and Blackfoot) but my mother is 2/3 German and sadly I took the German genes and look NOTHING Native American but oh well...I still have my pride and my Native American spirit which is more important anyway right?
@notiachaos being cherokee is not what you look like on the outside, it is about what you hold in your heart; walk with the creator and take the fire into your heart (and don't piss off the little people) :)
I am the descedant of the cherokee heritage and I love listening to the music...I even sang this song at my friends wedding about 10 years ago..it was in Alaska on the beach and the song just fit the type of wedding...I hope that I never forget my heritage and I will not let my children forget..hopefully this song can be passed on to generations of my family long after I am gone...and the knowing of the great people we came from
Is great for me to get to hear or read about descedants of the great people of this country or land. I have been in this country for 20 years, and I appreciate all native americans from here up to canada and down to the patagonia .
God bless you for your resilience. keep your traditions.. I guess I probably have som indian blood , who knows by heart is
I have just discovered my cherokee heritage and might I say tat it has brought me alot of understanding of things and a better peace of mind now knowing my heritage this song is one of the most beautiful that I have ever heard in my life time
Wow your as beautiful on the outside as the voice I've been listening to on the other videos. You look a bit like my grandmother when she was young, and even more like my great grandmother. Its good to see a familiar face on YouTube. I'm a descendant of the (Oglala?) Lakota of the Rosebud Sioux reservation. Peace, Love, Unity, Respect.
i do not live on a reservation,if you are meaning what tribe am i from, i have 7 tribes in my bloodlines. Cherokee, Sioux, Chikachaw, Osage, Navajo, Blackfoot, and Iroquois. I also have some German on my mother's side.
this is the fist time i have heard this song in my native tounge sence my fathers funeral and it still sounds great and warms my heart with thoughts of him...rip Jimmy Dale Duncan.

jpatty121: I wish my folks ("europeans") would listen to ya. But they follow false gods instead, forgetting that there where so many rich cultures.
Only a few among them where based on war, eventhough from today's view it seems that whole europe was 1 big culture of war, crime and such.
You natives still have a connection to your culture, so don't be fool, don't loose it for a "better" way we whites have to offer.
(do we whites have anything to offer at all?)
