It;s impossible to TEACH someone how to hit a homerun because all homeruns are mistakes. A homerun is usually hit when you get under the ball too much and it carries.

The way to hit a home run is pretty much 2 ways.

1) the bat head must face the ground on the swing, so the ball goes up. nOT FLAT

2) CURVE BALLS, pull it as hard as you can. If you see the ball heading for your hip, don't quit, stay in there and hit it when it curves.

3) you got to have a good pitcher to throw hard enough. If you get a slow pitcher, chances are reduced.

i think the greatest example is pujols, I mean his swing is perfect, and he's always said he doesnt TRY to hit homeruns, he tries to hit line drives, but his technique is so perfect he ends up hittin like 40 hrs a year.

Video didn't load so didn't see it. However, you do need some backspin on the ball in order for the ball to create lift. The ball has to spin some direction and if it spins foward, it won't go as far.

Have you seen a batter hit the ball DEAD center with no spin and make it over the fence? I have many times. To hit a homerun you must hit the ball hard in the same GLIDESCOPE in came to you in. Backspin/topspin/no spin is actually not a crucial factor what-so-ever.

I would disagree. that's the whole purpose of having seams on the baseball. You put top spin on he ball and it's not going over a 360'+ fence. To each his own I suppose.

to a certain extent that is correct. But, there is a limit to that back spin.. Kids on here think they know everything about baseball and it's a bit irritating. Not all coaches know everything about baseball either. They are just guides to their own success. Some of their teaching methods may not work for everyone. This is my problem with these types of videos on youtube.
