It's not that bad.

I played all BG, NWN and IWD series and I would put it between IWD (being at the end of the column) and NWN.

IWD, BGII, BG, NWN, NWNII, Torment.

I never played IWDII... O_o

IWD = Icewind Dale

BGII = Baldur's Gate II

BG = Baldur's Gate

NWN = NeverWinterNights

NWNII = NeverWinterNights II

It's funny how different people are. Me, I hated NWN's, IWD. But really like BG/BGII, Fable, FF VII, WoW. :-)

NWN was decent. BG/BGII was really good, but IWD was where it was freakin perfected. O_o

The last three you mentioned are all good. Fable sorta lost it for me near the end of the game, and WoW has terrible gameplay, but great on everything else (the problem with MMOs).

You never played IWD2? But you love character creation!! You get some of the classes that you get in NWN2 but it is in the infinity engine. Dude you are missing out, considering you are obviously a connoisseur of the BG style games. Dont torture yourself, man. Play it!

I love the sneak-em-up parts of games like that &thief3 because you can avoid violence (unless you want to backstab heh heh!). I get the impression you can hide in shadows & avoid violence in this game or have I got it wrong?

Hmmm.... it looks like you can sneak and avoid violence but you cant sneak-attack (eg backstab). Oh shame. That's why I like to avoid violence as a rogue for the majority of the time... so that when I sneak attack, I can savour the blood curdling devastation from a single dagger wound. Then I can stab them to death and play with their blood. And I'd do it again, I tell you. Bwa ha ha haaaa!

Yeah I started it - in hopes that it would quench my thirst for classic D&D games...but...I really hated it within the first few minutes...like the camera especially.

I've seen worse, but it's no where near a descent RPG like BG...

Yeah, you've got a great point right there! Take for example, Hitman: Blood Money limited quicksaves/loads on the harder difficulties, but it sure helps a lot when you're stuck or in trouble.

hey. this is my opinion. but I find it easier to control the characters by zoom in the camera and use the wasd keys and play it like a poor mans 3rd person game. Its not perfect buts its better than NWN2 controls.
