I'm spending lots of time writing in support of dolphins and trying to persuade Taiji people and Japan to stop this terrible slaughter. @delfinusdelphis I agree and disagree with you, I personally believe that killing another species for consumption is unacceptable but its a sad but true fact of life. What happened here happens everyday to other species, so why is it so different if it's dolphins?
@deathtoraj dolphins literally saved my life at sea and they certainly didn't have to place their lives at risk to save mine and then swim me all the way back to shore, nearly a mile. but they did. It seems only fair I try to return the favour. Also they have very complex brains, bigger than our own, if that means anything to you. It certainly means a lot to the neuroscientists who understand the staggering ramifications. Killing all these other animals doesn't have to happen either.
Have you seen other animals be killed before? I love shooting ducks. It is one of my favorite things to do. But once they are dead I don't leave them laying on the ground for children to see, I take them home, clean them and eat them. That's what it seems these people are doing with dolphins.
Remember Jesus did feed the masses with loaves and FISH! How do you think those fish died? Probably got drug into a wooden boat and had to flop around until they suffocated!
All I am asking is how is this any different than any other animal that is harvest for the purpose of man to eat??? I will agree as an avid hunter and outdoors man I hate when an animal is killed either out of season or without the intention of being eaten. So if these Asian people are just killing dolphins for the "fun" of it, then it is WRONG, but if they are killing them to use their blubber, eat their meat, and not let the animal go to waste, what is wrong?
@mo11217 Dolphins reproduce very slow. When the japanese continue to slaughter them like this, they will soon be extinct. This is not the case with animals like cows, which reproduce relatively fast.
If you look at it this way, they are driving an entire species into extinction. That's why dolphins and whales are different form cows, chicken and other animals we use for food.
I understand why everyone gets upset by this, the pictures are terrible but at the end of the day this is no different then fishing for tuna or any other type of animal that lives in the ocean or on land for that matter. Think of the millions of pounds of chickens or cows we go through every year. That meat doesn't appear from thin air. God put man at the top of the food chain for a reason and everything on this earth is ours to use. If dolphin is food to them then I say by all means, eat up.

@Zeruju Only one picture is from Faroe, dont know why they have that in it, the rest is all Taiji and the dolphin trade in Japan. The 3 dolphins are from last week and swim in this tank, there family is murdered last week, They where hang on there tails till they drown, that taken a long time as you know a dolphin can swim 80KM a day. There are videos of that as well. But you already know that.
