  • She lost because she's retarded. Don't care if it's a guy or a girl. I'll vote for whoever does, not someone who only promises.

  • the comments here from MOST guys prove that sexism still existes and its soo depressing b/c now lookung at comments like these, where ppl call a lady who speaks her mind like a news person should is called a "cunt" and and mean while ppl like micheal sheenare know as "fuuny " i mean i notice all these things and it shows that we still have a lot of work to do.....KITCHENN JOKES are getting offensive b/c they ARE offensive ....

  • An unfortunate trait typical of most modern women is crying SEXISM whenever they don't get what they want.Feminism has encouraged women to become angry, spoiled children.Hillary claimed she'd voted AGAINST the bill for appropriations to fund the war in Iraq, when footage on C-SPAN proved she HAD,even after JOHN KERRY had sunk his chances in 2004 by telling the SAME LIE and getting CAUGHT the SAME WAY.She then claimed she'd been in a helicopter that was shot at over BOSNIA.Got caught lying AGAIN.

  • @disagreeablesob I am not surprised, still women all over were voting for a liar they rather support Hillary BECAUSE she was a woman! I knew when Hillary didn't win these closet feminists would come out of the woods and cried sexism!

  • @luckybozo1 What was REALLY disturbing was seeing grown women throwing shit-fits,just losing their minds because Hillary didn't win.I half expected to see them rioting in the streets. It's like a more extreme version of what happened in Canada when Kim Campbell, who was handed the job of Prime Minister after Brian Mulroney after he'd alienated all of Canada against the Conservatives, got bounced out of office. The fact that all but 2 out of 151 Conservatives lost went unnoticed by those women.

  • @disagreeablesob Thanks for bringing up that. I totally agreed how these women always bring in sexism as they see fit. Women have no shame claiming that if a woman become the president, she would end war and hunger and blah blah blah because she is a woman! In other words, men are shit! And when confronted, they would jump to statistics and claim that more men commit violence, more men commit crimes, blah blah. They would attack the gender it doesn't matter that you and I are good men.

  • @luckybozo1 It can be hard to not distrust women when you realise how often they make ugly generalisations about all men based on the actions of individual men.If some man the day before beat his wife, they think that entitles them to label every man as a wife beater, like we all conspired with that first guy to beat his wife. The fact that they're very offended when men make ugly generalisations about women because of what one woman did is really hypocritical. But you can't tell them that.

  • @disagreeablesob Fact is men are not making mere generalizations but generalizations based on trends and society views! Trends like women think of themselves having morals but not men. Trends like women think they no longer need men. Trends like women think even when women hit men, men are the ones at fault. Trends like women still think they make much less than men and therefore demand everything because they are victims. I cut off women who exhibits any of these traits.

  • @luckybozo1 You have to for your own self-preservation.I always say "You're a Goddamned fool if you stay with a woman you know you're gonna end up murdering".Let me add "A Goddamned fool to stay if you know one day she's gonna murder YOU."It's like a rhyme I heard when I was a kid "Papa loved Mama, but Mama loved men,now Mama's in the graveyard and Papa's in the pen".No woman is worth flushing your life down the toilet.

  • @disagreeablesob So true, train your daughters to respect men. Show your daughters that being a woman does not give them extra rights. Tell girls that in order to earn respect, they have to really earn it, not just blame men and act like victims like today's women. This is what's missing in our society.

  • @disagreeablesob We should also train our daughters to be good mothers and enjoy being mothers so she will bring all the knowledges we taught them so they could pass them on to their daughters also. We as men have to repair the damages caused by years of so called feminists movement to discredit, marginalize men and blaming men for every bad things that go wrong. New generations of sons already got the message and stay away from the remaining selfish young girls. You will see, they will die out.

  • I wish that bitch would cross her legs, I can smell her cunt from here.

  • Cultural Marxists are the true racists and sexists. They vote for a person solely on her/his sex and/or race. And anyone who doesn't vote for their preferred sex/race they call sexist/racist and won't accept any rational explanation on why the person doesn't want to vote for that candidate. In their mind the reason is always just that that person is racist/sexist.

  • The media, particularly the liberals, were horrendous to her. The comments Couric mentioned, but also 'little' things like Gwen Ifill and many others referring to her as Hilary but obama as Sen. Obama or his full name.

I'll never vote Dem. again, I've seen 1st hand how sheeplike they are. ISH! I'm only disgusted that Spkr. Clinton is still aligning herself with that dispicable party.

  • 1:42 What the guy in the green shirt said isn't true. In anti-Obama rallies people were holding up signs of Obama as a African witch doctor etc.

  • So is it OK for men to be sexist?

  • Damn, I didn't know Katie was that clueless.

  • Men will always be portrayed as the evil stronger gender and women will always play the weak victim card aka the female gender card. Men will always have pressure put on them to change there so called sexiest ways and women will have barely any if any allowing them to have that easy escape goat and all the men can say to not look like an sexiest a-hole is "Duh okay im sorry". Why be a feminist or masculinist fighting for your own side when you can fight for both sides and be done with this issue

  • Some guys like to keep up the BS. Makes them feel that they aere superior....NOT!

  • @LuckyBlueEyez Women are the ones with more BS, speaking of superiority, didn't Beyonce recently spoke of girls running the world and women all over praised her? Gee, if that's not a claim of superiority...so go ahead, more bitching why don't you....after all that's what women do best!

  • @luckybozo1 It's not bitching you punk. Equality is something that should have been practiced since the beginning of time. I have no idea why it took women so long to push on through. Now it is time for a change. A change that has been a long time coming! Step back fool, you are ignorant! So you blanket women as a role. Well...I guss that means that men should do what they do best and that is rape women. That's how stupid your remark sounds. You lack common sense and the knowledge to know it.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez You're ignorant.Apparently you buy into the feminist myth of women being a subservient class to men since the beginnings of history. It's a blatantly insupportable fallacy to anyone who has even a basic understanding of human and societal evolution.Your belief that "women pushed on through" shows you don't understand that CLASS and RACE have always been the real causes of inequality,NOT gender.Feminists can claim women are the most oppressed of all,but history contradicts this.

  • @disagreeablesob I'm not BUYING into anything, you should research history and women's suffrage. Try watching the movie Iron Jawed Angels. This truth may educate you on the past discrimination that was felt by women, from those who had absolutely no right to rule anyone. We are all equal. The misconception of rights based on sex, race etc... is only valued by those who have assumed the role regarded as 1st class. Get on the same plane as the rest of us and live with the fact you are not better.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez I said HISTORY.Not recent history, the span of less than a couple centuries(the British suffragettes began demanding the vote in 1860)but HISTORY.I'm talking about the 200 000 years modern humans have been in existence. And that you're so uninformed as to actually believe that oppression of human beings because of their class or race isn't a more pervasive source of inequity is to be expected of someone who learns their history from movies.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez Without the conceits of superiority and entitlement by RACE or SOCIAL CLASS,these events wouldn't have happened;the conquest and destruction of the people, cultures and civilisations of both North and South America. The rebellion of the British tribes led by Queen Boudicca. The institutionalising of the enslavement of Africans for nearly 400 years, and the conquests that wiped out much of Africa's culture and history. The small atrocities called Pogroms that inspired The Holocaust.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez All a tiny fraction of the brutalities committed in the 200 000 years that human beings have walked the Earth.Race and class have played a far greater role in the subjection, abuse and even murder of one group of human beings by another than gender EVER has.The women in the upper or ruling classes have never demonstrated any more guilt over the mistreatment of the lower classes than their men did.India's Caste system denies some people any human dignity because of CLASS,not gender.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez Again, you demonized men for your own benefits. Accusing men of being good at rape is the reason men have to put you women into place...obviously you women act like little children making up lies as a habit! My remarks countered your flat out lies that's what it was and since you had not way of showing truth, you became a liar...women like you are the reason rape claims are so often falsely made!

  • @luckybozo1 Actually,I have to stop you there. It's true that rape has the highest percentage of false allegations,9 to 10%,as opposed to 4 to 5% for most other crimes.BUT that means approximately 90% of all claims of rape are genuine.Whether they fit the general idea of rape as sexual relations achieved by coercion, violence,or during the mental or physical incapacity of the victim,is to be questioned because unfortunately Feminists have so grossly distorted what can be labeled as rape.

  • @disagreeablesob lol, how do you know? Where you there when the rape took place? First off, those % of red handed "she's caught lying" cases only showed you how lucky the guy was to be able to prove false allegations, that someone actually listened. What about the other men who were not so lucky? If, according to what you said about feminists definition of rape, you could be saying that 90% of females were lying about not being rape! They can't have that or the fundings will stop!

  • @luckybozo1 If you read the statistics given by the F.B.I.,look for the annual account of violent crimes given on the local and national news, and read about the incidence of crimes in some reference books, you get a general idea of the percentage of women who are victims of rape, and the number of women who are caught fabricating claims of rape by the police. It's the police who find out when women are lying, not individual men.Feminists may have expanded the definition of rape, but it backfired.

  • @luckybozo1 When I say that Feminists expanded the definition of rape,I mean that Feminists wanted to criminalise behaviour that women actually tolerated or accepted as NOT being rape, like letting a man sweet-talk them into bed, letting a man get them drunk or stoned before sleeping with him,or letting a man feed them a line in an effort to have sex with them. They also wanted to label consensual sex between teenagers as statutory rape, and are responsible for some arrests, but failed nationally.

  • @luckybozo1 Feminists wouldn't care if tommorrow all men and boys were rounded up in wholesale arrests nationwide and imprisoned on the suspicion of having committed rape,as most Feminists would believe they were guilty.Feminists don't get that if a victim waits too long to report a rape,if the victim destroys the physical evidence,if a rapist doesn't have a criminal record,if the rapist is a transient or is in and out of jail,or if the rapist is deceased, they can be difficult to catch.

  • @disagreeablesob Don't try to corner me....I will Bastard slap you and treat you like the bytch you are! My tool is much bigger than yours.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez You are a moron.Come up with something that isn't the same recycled inane non-sequitur,after which you can go fuck yourself, you ass ugly monkey.

  • @luckybozo1 Few Feminists will acknowlege Feminism's deliberate hyper-politicising of rape,a crime once considered a capital offence punishable by death, reinterpreting an act against society as an act of war men commit against women. The Feminist theory is that since during the normal act of heterosexual coitus only the woman is penetrated, the unresolvable inequality means women can never actually give voluntary consent, and that therefore by Feminists definitions ALL straight sex is rape.

  • @luckybozo1 Your name fits you perfectly! You are not important enough to waste my time on. Ignorance such as yours...would take years to penetrate. I am not getting into a he-she debate. I am NOT a femme and will not feed you the ego that too I hold. I am not catagorized as a femimine woman...I AM A BUTCH! Call me your competition, that would make more sense. I am not your bytch and you are not mine. As for the rape claim as you put it, I was making a point you fool. Your accusations were met.

  • @luckybozo1 Your reply is more like bitchin. Don't put a butch in the catagory of a femme...it doesn't work and only gets the butch pissed off. I am probably more of a man than you are...you wuss.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez I am getting things done and I am making the case known that's not bitching..unlike women such as you who's purpose was to cry victim-hood to bring in all kinds of help only to your gender and try to prevent the truth from coming out.

  • @luckybozo1 Looks to me that you are the one that is ignorant.. Fools like you are not important enough to try and educate. Lost cause and to late to learn anything of substance.

  • @LuckyBlueEyez I made a point and you totally ignore it. I should also add that women don't listen. As I said, women like you only bitch behind a computer...enough said.

  • NOW = rockefellers foundation biggest acheivement - funded in the 60's to get the female out of the house so they can too be taxed, and get the kids taught in public schools without a parent when they got home. Talk about an evil plot - but evil plots always seem to work the best, till Judgement day.

  • @tinfoilrepair Yep we did well dude there.

    Yours,

    Hercules Rockefeller.

  • There was definitely sexism... After all we live in a society where a black guy can call all women on the street & in their music Ho's, but if she snaps back and calls him a ni**er then that's just wrong! Sexism is alive and kicking and way worse than racism. However this is not the MAIN reason she lost. The main reasons she lost was because she doesn't have the ability to charm like Obama, Bush, or her husband did. In politics the more charming one always wins.

  • @lauraleesmithagain Then you're saying that being a worthless bitch had nothing to do with it?

  • During the campaign in 08, do you think she ever started a story on Obama with "Like him or not" ? No I don't think so! A little biased Katie? Or just a little sexist!! I submit both! Just another empty skirt! Fuck her hateful jewish ass! And she looks like death on two legs without makeup...and she a fat ass!

  • Her campaign was a joke..and if we didn't believe that she was above reproach, we were labeled misogynists. And its really only said when they run out of ammo in arguments.

  • Hillary already ran the white house for 8 years.

  • @MrSpieldose glad to see someone has a brain lol

  • Any remember Lee Atwater from 1988? If not look him. He made Dukakis run against Willy Horton, not against Bush Sr and lost the race.

I couldn't bear the thought that Mrs. Clinton might actually to run against Monica Lewinsky in that presidential race.

Mrs. Clinton, for all your achievements, you just had way too much baggage.

  • lol. After a second Bush, and it not going so well, WHY would Americans say to themselves "Gee that was fun. Lets do that again" and vote in a second Clinton? That's mostly why she lost; But yeah, it IS true what she said about how if Obama faced the same amount of prejudice comments as Hillary did, it would be front page news rather than just a footnote. People make a bigger deal out of racism than sexism, and that's wrong. Prejudice is prejudice.

  • They are all owned by big business and Isreal anyway.

  • Good for Katie!!! And those comments reflect more about the people who wrote them than any observation they claim to make about Ms. Couric. It is sad to see those kinds of remarks;

  • both clinton and couric are sexist bitches.

  • Katie Couric is a sexist bitch.

  • what a troll

  • Iron my shirt bitch!

  • yeah, well katie is a dumb cunt

  • Watch and meet her at latestgirl (dot) com

  • Huh, if that's true, than what do you call what YOU id to Sarah Palin?

  • quite right Katie to point out the unfairness.. it's kind of like the hatchet job that YOU did on Sarah Palin.. she was not only a female, but worse, she had the deserved bad luck to have thoughts that did not line up with that of the unfair and hostile media...

  • Amen. Katie, if want to fight the media for treating women unfairly--YOU NEED TO DO YOUR PART! As in--TREAT PALIN WITH RESPECT!

Ya think the reason she hated Sarah Palin was disgust over the notion that Palin could possibly help McCain DEFEAT Obama--thus (in KATIE'S mind) making Hillary look even more like a FAILURE in the eyes of men???

  • umm people didnt like palin because she was obtuse and astronomically STUPID. it isnt about man or woman it's about her not having a brain.

  • Huh, I guess this just proves that internet trolls come in both genders, proving that they are, sadly, capable of reproduction. Fact is, had Hillary won, we would be hearing people complaining about the race card. Either way there is going to be a group of people pissed. But your so convinced all men are stupid you don't even bother to look past that and examine the big picture. BTW, if you can't get a job, don't cry sexism. Blame your inability to deal with people having protruding genitalia.

  • universallove90, YOU are sexist... don't call men stupid and then say that WE are sexist... and Hillary is a modern extremist feminist who portrays women as victims of sexist discrimination shows that she is trying to make you live with beliefs that became false in the 17th century but is majorly believed to be true... there is no sexism against women today, it's the other way around

  • wow. just, wow. so incredibly false i can't even find words.

  • Oh my gosh of course Sexism is still alive, along with Racism, Homophobia, Speciesism etc

Why are we even talking about this? Men! Men in general have a low intelligence, and don't have respect for themselves, which means they easily can hate, for no rational reason. They call you a whore, slut, bitch, tramp etc. I mean can't most women get it through their skulls! Men have mental problems, women end up going insane! Now you need to stop caring what men think, and control them. peace

  • Women you need to wake up, you really do. Not all men are idiots, but you must accept their nature, you can subdue their nature, but they will never change on their own! Please evolve women.

  • @universallove90 The true face of feminism. Equality? Pfft. Give me a break.

  • Can I ask you a question? Why do you hate men so mutch? I think you're forgetting that it took both a man and a woman to make you. The way I see it is that if you're a woman who hates men or a man who hates women, then in essentials, you hate a part of yourself as well.

  • William James: "Women take offense and get angry, if anything, more easily than men, but their anger is inhibited by fear and other principles of their nature from expressing itself in blows."

I'd like to see women try to compete at a man's level in intellectual, economic, sportive, and physical matters. Laughable. Ever seen the WNBA?

  • That their are no woman of mention historically as far as intellect or fighting is concerned as every culture attest to this. I exempt mythical characters such as Camilla and built up and marketed feminist. Their are courageous and intelligent woman, but they don't have the same degree as men and have silly emotions that get in the way. If we have a violent man we wouldn't deny his violence gets in the way of clear thought, so it is with woman. Many who disagree admit it to some degree.

  • I hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sexism

  • I cant believe how sexism is still very alive, I defended hillary clinton many times to Osama voters during the primaries here in Texas, im a guy and im not a racist or sexist, i voted for a woman not because shes a woman because she had better qualifications we need to vote based on who is the better candidate race and sex should never even be brought up. I dont think we will ever have another woman come as close to winning as hillary its sad to say but its true

  • You can quit the Osama stuff now. It scares no one.

  • katie couric is annoying

  • Her reporting on rape in the military is just as bad. You throw a weak woman in the military because she can march and shoot with deprived and oft times criminal men and you are surprised that this happens. This is war, you can push against certain things in war, but you cant deny the truth, and the truth is that warriors will rape no matter the punishment, the only way to stop this is morals, and those disappear in the majority of deprived men.

  • do you even understand how fucking disrespectful what you wrote is? broad...really?? u stupid fucking douchebag

  • oh take it easy, Weezy

  • Maybe you are the stupid fucking douchebag. Ever thought about it?

  • It's amazing to me that they don't roll back their tapes and count all the anti-women remarks about Hillary. Mika along with all of MSNBC decided they were going to force Obama down our throats no matter who was in the way.I have been a diehard Dem from way back and their fawning over Obama is what made me step back and look at what was going on. I will not vote for another arrogant, inexperienced, short resume guy like Bush, I don't care what party he belongs to and what MSNBC thinks.

  • ok if there are so many, can you please just name one, saying a candidate is unfit to lead, is not sexism, its called CAMPAIGNING, no one said she's unfit because she's a woman, everyone is trying to crush his/her opponent and boast about them selves, so I really don't see how this is sexist.

  • And I find it rather amusing that White women are always so angry about everything. Their lack of respect for Black women, their fear and hatred of immigrants, and their paranoid victim mentality regarding this sexism farce.

While Black women are busy fighting to make their lives better and working with the cards they've been dealt, White women sit at home whining and crying about how they're mistreated and how they "don't feel safe" with all these "terrorists" here in America. Disgusting.

  • Right on the money turbod16y8 !

  • Sixteen years ago, Hillarywas where Michelle Obama is today. Hillary (like Michelle) was from a middle class family, Ivy league college and law school, a successful Lawyer, a working Mother like Michelle. Then, Hillary was labelled a cold hearted, ambitious business woman who put career ahead of family. It took 16 years to break the bitter sexist stereotype. Hillary is ahead of her time. Its our misfortune that the nation isn't ready for her.

  • 16 yrs ago, there was no Family Leave Act to protect her and other working family members.

  • Best summarization I've read to date. Nice to see some people still have their heads on right.

  • Mika is one of those women that everyone hates......the kind that jealously guard their status and never want to see other strong women around.

    How dumb can she be?

She wants to blame and hold Hillary accountable for Bill's mistake?

    Mika is such an idiot!

Mika has her job because of her fathers connections.....she of all people should stay quiet and be the last to attack Hillary.

Mika is such a loser....YES MIKA......THIS CAMPAIGN WAS FULL OF SEXISM WE SAW IT ON THE NEWS DAY AFTER DAY.

  • At the end of the day, White women get to go home and sleep with the White MALE Power Structure. Black and Mexican women have it way worse than White women who see themselves as having the exclusive gender rights as being "Woman."

  • Racism hurt Obama WAY more than sexism hurt Hillary.

About 20% of Democrat voters in the West Virginia and Kentucky primaries said that race factored into their decision of who they voted for. And the overwhelming majority of those people backed Hillary.

There was an article in the Washington Post a few months ago they discussed the numerous instances of racial attacks that Obama volunteers have faced while campaigning for him.

  • Hillary had #1) the Clinton name #2) Bill Clinton the #1 fundraiser #3) the media love, #4) the most MONEY #5) the DELEGATE support Hillary was the LOCK for the PRESIDENT never mind the nomination! WHERE was the sexism then???? The only reason Hillary lost is because SHE SCREWED IT UP. SHE is the ONLY candidate who went broke. TWICE. SHE got the white male vote in the SOUTH. WHAT sexism is she a victim of?

  • Hillary won non-college educated white males, hispanic males, asian males, non-black senior citizen males.

The sexism excuse is BS. She can't accept the fact she blew it.

Every instance of sexism Hillary supporters cite is LAUGHABLE: Obama brushing off his shoulders(like Jay-z), a Hillary nutcracker doll, etc.

  • WOW the whole thing is sexist Berzinskis father is a main obama she is a fuckin bitch who beinifits from tits bitch and all the sexism was MSNBC losers yeah fuck you clinton lost it because of a black guy being sympathetic oh hes black don't hurt little baracks feeling he might say were racist . How about obama looks like a guy who would rob you not you lamar alexander we all know you covered for obama and said yeah we rap about ideas and speachs all the time meeka has nice tits but no brain

  • It HAD to be sexism. It's not that people didn't like her policies, it's not that her support base was shrinking to the point that she had to start funding her own campaign, no, it as SEXISM that brought her down. She ran a fair campaign and she was beaten in a fair campaign, that's equality, now quit complaining.

  • wtf, everywhere you go you have people calling obama "osama" ... sexism vs racism it all sucks, quit whining, you lose, sorry...

  • it's really sad because even women are set against each other now because of the socially acceptable insults/judgments towards women. some woman in a john mccain meeting said, "how will we beat the bitch?" in referral to hillary clinton. i don't understand how it's not just as wrong to be sexist as it is racist. if she had said, "how do we beat the n*gger?" about obama.. wow, there would be an uproar. doesn't really make any sense.

    and you know it's true.

  • Hillary Clinton lost because she did not plan after super Tuesday, in a interview with Katie curic she said flat out that she was going to be the nominee. That she was planing going up super Tuesday the arrogance cost her the election.

  • excuses...excuses...

  • Sen. Clinton was cleared after millions of dollars was spent chasing a red herring. If there had been ONE shred of evidence against her , Ken Starr and company would have persecuted her to the max. The fact is they couldn't and all they did was succeed in dividng our country even further. Alot of the red/blue bs comes from the type of politics that group played and is continueing to play today. Maybe different players but the same thing. On this I can agree with O , we DO need a change.

  • Katie Coric is right on. many on MSNBC were more than obvious of their support for O and the questions on almost every debate were ALWAYS tougher on her and even mean spirited on occassion. The SNL skit would not have had as much play if there was not some truth to what they were saying. Many have made comments about Sen Clinton playing the gender card, but there doesn't seem to be as much guilt about the glass ceiling as there does the race barrier.

  • There were many of reasons why Mrs. Clinton lost--inexperience, history of being evasive(at best)if not outright dishonest (i.e. Whitewater, Travel Office firings, FBI files investigation and her not being able to remember salient details regarding these inquiries under oath, her abject failure in health care and welfare reform, etc.) Truth be told, the media could have had a field day with her inexperience and failures-if her last name was not Clinton she would not have been in the race period.

  • she was just as honest/dishonest as any other politician. it is just magnified when she does it because she's a woman. you can take my word on that, buddy.

  • One last point, the mainstream media, and even the conservative talk shows gave Mrs. Clinton a pass on her performance as First Lady. Some even attempted to credit her with the relative prosperity the country enjoyed during those years, but not once did I hear about her prominent role in Whitewater, the FBI files scandal, or the Travel Office firings. Nor were her abject failures at addressing welfare reform and health care discussed. We heard alot about Rev. Wright though. C'mon Katie-get real.

  • A lot of those issues aren't even true. Her health care got denied because it wouldn't get passed, not because it failed.

  • Does Ms. Couric really believe that some isolated sexist remarks by a moron at a political rally or, what is the same, so called pundit at MSNBC cost Mrs. Clinton the nomination? Given the plethora of reasons for Clinton's defeat, I doubt it. Yet Katie gets on the CBS Evening News and expects America to be persuaded by her? If Katie was not such a lightweight I might be insulted.

  • If there was a gender based reason why Mrs. Clinton lost it would have to be her misguided attempt to deny her gender in an effort to project strength, as if strength and femininity are mutually exclusive concepts. Ultimately, what came across is a candidate that did not appear authentic or confident. Americans are credulous, maybe even pollyannaish, but not stupid. In the end she only fooled herself.

    "Know thyself."

    - Socrates

  • attempt to deny her gender? ..lol. the problem with sexism is that it will never die because men deny that it is even in existence even though they are the one's making all the judgments and stereotypes about women.

  • Precisely-Hillary failed because she denied her femininity (e.g. her boring pant suits)to appear tough, as if you have to be a man in order to be strong. I would vote for a woman as President, but it hast to be a qualified candidate. Sexism exists, but this is NOT an example of it! What is as troubling as sexism is the disgusting tactic of accusing people of being sexist simply because you disagree with them. The attempt to silence people by labelling them is very dangerous in a free society.

  • the fact that you're saying femininity is defined by not wearing pants and acting weak is sexist itself. she was acting like herself. she wasn't being "tough," she was being smart. nothing man-defined about that.

  • Paint Suits are not feminine. Thats just fact. If a guy wears a dress or a skirt that's feminine isn't it? Then pants suits are not feminine. Stop with the Xena act and lets get real.

    Oh yeah, Obama 08!!!

  • So, in your view, in order for a woman to be "smart" she must wear pants? I think that is sexist. Also, I am not sure how "smart" a decision her image makeover turned out to be. To me, it was just another example (albeit an unimportant one) of her willingness to do anything to get elected. In other words, she was not being "herself" -- not a good quality for a presidential candidate -- woman or man. Mrs. Clinton does not know who she is or what she represents - that is her problem.

  • Also, you never addressed the second part of my comment regarding the deplorable tactic of making false accusations of sexism in an effort to label (and concomitantly silence) people you do not agree with. This practice, so prevalent nowadays, is a threat to the free exchange of ideas. Let's focus on, and eliminate REAL instances of sexism, racism, etc. and stop using these labels as excuses when you do not like the outcome. Will it be racism if Obama loses?

  • When considering your contention you may want to refer back to Mrs. Clinton's penchant for making excuses when things do not go her way. Before it was proven (unequivocally) that her husband did have "sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky" and thereby perjured himself under oath when he denied the same, Mrs. Clinton claimed it was a "vast right wing conspiracy." Now, her losing the nomination is a result of sexism. I just want to make sure I understand all of the spurious reasoning.

  • hun, the bottom line is hillary clinton did get treated differently because she's a woman. just like katie couric said, the media did focus on shit that doesn't matter at all like how she looks, the faces she makes, her laugh, etc. no one does that to male candidates. (continued)

  • everyone i talk to who doesn't like hillary clinton all come down to the same reason: she's a "bitch." i'm sorry, but.. she's a bitch in their eyes because she's a woman in power. they never have any real reasoning as to why they say idiotic things about her.another thing, i was saying that you saying she has to wear skirts/dresses in order to be feminine is idiotic. i don't ever wear skirts/dresses. am i a man? (continued)

  • Well I gave you a long list of reasons why she lost that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with sexism. 1) Her general inexperience; 2) Her arrogance that she was the presumptive nominee; 3) Obama's masterful campaign; 4) Her track record of dishonesty (Whitewater, Travel Office firings, FBI Files scandal); 5) Her lack of authenticity and history of making excuses (e.g. "vast right wing conspiracies") These are the "real" reasons she lost - none of them have anything to do with sexism. (continued)

  • your opinion will forever be your opinion and so will mine. it's rare when a male ever accepts the fact that sexism is embedded everywhere in our society, anyway. not surprised. end of convo in my opinion.

  • I agree with you, sexism exists, but as I said previously this is not an instance of it. With all due respect, you have not responded with one fact to support your opinion and if you are honest with yourself you will acknowledge that Hillary's defeat had nothing to with sexism. Ironically, when you make spurious allegations of sexism, YOU perpetuate sexism - I hope someday you will realize that Rhiana. (continued)

  • the fact that you said it has nothing to do with sexism is ignorance. of course, there is something to do with it. why do you think someone showed up at hillary's campaign rally with a sign, "iron my shirt" or "go make my dinner" or w/e. you don't think there are enough shitheads like that talking shit about hillary cuz she's a woman? need to think about that.

  • Lastly, as you have categorized me as part of the male population that are either sexist, or apathetic towards womens' rights, I will let you know that I absolutely respect, revere, adore, and am fascinated with women. If you analyze my username you will see this very clearly. "mbcesmoi" the mb stands for madam bovary, a fictional character. cest moi is French for "it is me." (continued)

  • To continue. The author of Madam Bovary, Gustav Flaubert, was asked who the inspiration for his novel was - he responded, famously, "Madam Bovary, it is me." I assure you I am not sexist, quite the contrary. I have somewhat of an androgynous nature to be perfectly honest. Also, understand that in a country of 300 million, you will find idiots who show up at rallies making sexist remarks; however, those morons are not the reason she lost. I admire your passion, and appreciate your courtesy. :-)

  • I did not say that she, or any woman, has to wear a skirt or dress to be feminine. My question is why Mrs. Clinton, who previously wore dresses and skirts, all of sudden chose to exclusively wear pant suits? To me that was a seriously misguided attempt at projecting strength. What came across was a candidate who lacked authenticity and appeared like she would do anything, including an image makeover, to get elected. (continued)

  • does hillary have to wear skirts/dresses all the time in order to scream aloud to everyone, "HI, I'M A FEMALE!!!!" no. thanks.

  • "LEGITIMATE venom" toward Hillary Clinton. What a pig.

  • If Obama was a white man that she was running against, this wouldn't be an issue Ms.Couric, and it would be amazing to see you fight for more women ,exspecially for woman of color.Where was Couric on the racism toward Mr. Obama and his wife, this bitch Couric didn't mind that happening, because they were black.

  • The role of gender and race were both prevalent. It's hard to say which influenced the outcome more.

  • give me a break...Obama had no chance of winning. Hillary Clinton had every advantage in this thing, there a more female voters than male voters. It is harder for an african american to make it in america than for a white person, male or FEMALE. Obama rann a better campaign, that's why he won.

  • I don't think she lost because of sexism. If anything her gender and Obama's race helped them, but no doubt she definitely faced sexism.I was so shocked that these pathetic pundits got away with saying the shit that they did.If anyone of them made comments about Obama the way they did about Hillary, their asses would've been fired.I also think it was more about the fact that they hated her and it was rationale for them to make such venomous comments about her. They just hated this woman

  • The irony behind this video is that Hillary is the most sexist of all.

  • UNFAIR COVERAGE HUH? Why don't we talk about the unfair coverage of Ron Paul.

  • You do know the iron my shirt thing was made by some local radio station dj for some publicity i dont know why they are still using that example.

  • Because it was egregiously sexist, and if someone went to an Obama campaign rally and screamed at him to "Shine My Shoes!" it would have actually been covered by the media and the bigotry would have been acknowledged.

  • Yea it was sexist but thats why they did it for publicity.

  • It doesn't matter that they did it for publicity.

  • oh an yeah her crying as well.... and emphasis on tht fact she wanted to be "the first women president" may have also drawn attention to the fact she was a woman.... i.e. sexism as well as winning her the majority of the female vote.... due to sexism....

  • Perhaps her being a woman drew attention to the fact that she's a woman. It was sexist of her to not wear a fake mustache. Shame.

BTW, how's Obama doing with those white working class males? Not too good, I hear. Clinton did pretty well with them though.

  • uneducated white working class... why don't we just call what they are? rednecks. do you seriously question why god-fearing, confederate-flag-waving hillbillies wouldn't vote for a black guy? face the facts. Hillary Clinton didn't lose because she's woman, she lost because she's Hillary Clinton.

  • Way to rally for votes for your guy. By belittling the people he's most actively trying to appeal to right now by writing them off as redneck hillbillies. S.M.R.T.

You know, there is such a thing as blue collar liberals.

  • ok, good luck finding one in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. it's silly to even question this. you know deep down why they voted for Hillary. hell i could say the same thing of Obama and African Americans.

  • Quit crying

  • read a book fucker

  • Get back in the kitchen, womyn

  • may I add to that.... her assasination comment... her lie about her bosnia visit.... her funding fraud with "marvel"..... her inconsistancy over the years of socialised medicine.... all contributed as well.

  • Her "assassination comment?" You mean the one where she was responding to all the freak out that she was still in the race by pointing to a landmark Democratic primary race that lasted until June? The comment she'd made for the second time like a week after she'd received a death threat of her own?

Maybe it's not ALLL about Obama, hmm?

  • Yep thats the one....

  • Beware the ultimate simplifiers.

Sexism was part of what derailed Clinton but not the only one.

Her vote for the Iraq Debacle,

Her taking for granted the nomination in the beginning of the contest,

Her positioning as an establishment candidate in a world hungry for change....

Many things contributed to her loss not just the fact she is a woman.

  • Her role in Whitewater, Travelgate, Cattlegate, etc. didn't help either!

Of course, being given a political office for who she was married to didn't bode well either....

  • You honestly think she was "given" two terms in the Senate because of who she was married to? You do know that that's an elected office, right?

    Jesus, you people.

  • I think Couric has a point..

  • "if" she was treated differently? MSNBC is so in the tank for obama and always have been.

  • god obama supporters like that woman are so annoying.

  • The last refuge of a liberal loser. "I'm a victim! The sexists got me." Words like racist, sexist and misogynist were invented, or at least popularized and distributed, in the 20's and 30's by the American Communist party. Their purpose was to make classes of people think they were victims. A liberal is never at fault - they are always the innocent victims.

  • This clinton supporter will never vote for obama, because of the scum at msnbc... i urge all my my clinton supporters to vote for mccain, or stay home.... obama and msnbc are scum

  • Why on earth would any Clinton supporter in her or his right mind vote for McCain? He's her polar opposite. If you're that committed to HRC just write her in.

If you're a Republican then, sure, vote for McCain. But I don't see why you were supporting HRC in the first place.

  • Jesus! she lost already.... give it a rest....

  • I suspect Katie's comments are probably colored by her own problems at CBS.

As far as Hillary is concerned, if she was playing serious hardball politics then she needs to take what she dishes out. McCain or Obama took some serious personal shots. For her to escape that would be giving her special treatment.

  • Sexism isn't a political issue its a moral issues.

  • please elaborate
