It's amazing to me that they don't roll back their tapes and count all the anti-women remarks about Hillary. About 20% of Democrat voters in the West Virginia and Kentucky primaries said that race factored into their decision of who they voted for. And the overwhelming majority of those people backed Hillary.
There was an article in the Washington Post a few months ago they discussed the numerous instances of racial attacks that Obama volunteers have faced while campaigning for him.

Katie Coric is right on. many on MSNBC were more than obvious of their support for O and the questions on almost every debate were ALWAYS tougher on her and even mean spirited on occassion. The SNL skit would not have had as much play if there was not some truth to what they were saying. Many have made comments about Sen Clinton playing the gender card, but there doesn't seem to be as much guilt about the glass ceiling as there does the race barrier.

There were many of reasons why Mrs. Clinton lost--inexperience, history of being evasive(at best)if not outright dishonest (i.e. Whitewater, Travel Office firings, FBI files investigation and her not being able to remember salient details regarding these inquiries under oath, her abject failure in health care and welfare reform, etc.) Truth be told, the media could have had a field day with her inexperience and failures-if her last name was not Clinton she would not have been in the race period.

Some even attempted to credit her with the relative prosperity the country enjoyed during those years, but not once did I hear about her prominent role in Whitewater, the FBI files scandal, or the Travel Office firings. If there was a gender based reason why Mrs. Clinton lost it would have to be her misguided attempt to deny her gender in an effort to project strength, as if strength and femininity are mutually exclusive concepts. Ultimately, what came across is a candidate that did not appear authentic or confident. Americans are credulous, maybe even pollyannaish, but not stupid. In the end she only fooled herself.

So, in your view, in order for a woman to be "smart" she must wear pants? I think that is sexist. Also, I am not sure how "smart" a decision her image makeover turned out to be. To me, it was just another example (albeit an unimportant one) of her willingness to do anything to get elected. In other words, she was not being "herself" -- not a good quality for a presidential candidate -- woman or man. Mrs. Clinton does not know who she is or what she represents - that is her problem.
