goodness me what nonsense ,pray is simple and it is advised to not pray in repitition nor to pray in public and to simply be sincere and pray to the father through the son
From experience, pray for prosperity or disparity as long as the Lord's God will and pleasure is being fullfilled. Pray for the Lord's charity (bond of perfection),understanding, strength, wisdom, direction and knowledge for your life, so his will can be fullfilled. He put you here for a reason, to praise him, worship him and to do his will. My grandfather used to land hands on the sick and heal them when he was in a nursing home with dimentia. He sold his life out to Christ, b/c is was Gods.
Wow, Wow, Wow! Glory to GOD! What a Spiritual perspective on prayer; GOD help me, my brothers and sisters in CHRIST, and the Biblical Pastors like John Macarthur, Jeff Noblit, and obviously Paul Washer and others across this land to seek you and your will first in prayer before acting upon anything. Please Lord, consume us from the inside out by your Holy Spirit of fire for your Glory and according to your will and word....in Jesus name...Amen!
The Lord's prayer covers everything , Jesus said your Father knows your needs before you do, don't ask. Instead of sitting in a pew every sunday, you should be out spreading the Good News. God said you weary me with your much speaking {repetitive prayer}.
Praying is designed to bring a person in line with God's will, not a means to get what someone wants on a wish list. So attempting to test prayer on a results basis shows your lack of understanding of Christian theology. Even the greatest men that ever lived, including the greatest (Jesus), suffered great pains in life or in the act of dying. Jesus himself prayed to have the cup taken from him just before he was killed. He submitted to God's will, which was best.
@XXXFirebird76XXX Did I say the faithful praying for survival meant making a wish list? Where did you get that? (No strawmen!)
I would think studying the survival rates after the fact (someone survives or doesn't, prays or doesn't) would be in order, and would avoid the problem you listed because the patient would be acting out of faith that God will come down from heaven and intercede on their behalf, despite their unworthiness. That is the INDEPENDENT VARIABLE.
Yeah, but you have one major problem. You can't measure or determine God's will when it comes to praying. God's will just happens to be a major part of prayer so studying survival rates and praying leave out that major variable. The study would be worthless.
@XXXFirebird76XXX What I'm saying is that all things being equal, those that pray will have an addtional factor that influences survival. Sure some that pray will not be answered, but some should, shouldn't they?
No one in the "No praying" group should get their prayers answered, as they're not asking.
To sum up, there's greater probability of survival in the praying group..if praying works.
If its a placebo, then no statistical difference between the pray and no-pray group.
@Highlyskeptical Yes, if all things were known, equal and testable, you might be correct. But there are too many unknown variables with prayer. You wouldn't even truly be able to tell if the person claiming to be a Christian was actually a follower of Jesus Christ. Also, when a person who is part of the non-praying group is healed, that result could still be the result of God's will.
Praise God for this message. God used it last year to start changing the way I pray - especially regarding health and uncomfortable circumstances. GLORY TO GOD !
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Trust in the Lord from the start. Trust in the Lord everyday. Trust in the Lord to guide your way. =) i like this.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Yes, we need to pray for His will to be done, but not ours! And also we need to expand our prayers. May God bless brother Paul and us so we will change...
@mujiel Oh wow! I too was once an alcoholic, but Jesus saved me. I didn't know it about this preacher. Thanks for that. God loves alcoholics and children. haha

This dude don't preach 100% divine truth! He preaches hate toward other brothers in Christ! What about this big problem with racism in the church? Why does he not talk about that? That's the biggest issue in the american church.
bro, you need to watch your mouth. Brother paul washer is one of the very few people going about the gospel the correct way. He teaches and preaches the absolute truth. He's against the fake "prosperity gospel", he's against all fake versions and false teachings of the gospel. To God be all the glory. Paul washer gets my respect.
I got to learn about brother Paul by listening to an mp3 of a preaching he gave in Spanish. Ever since that day I just can't get enogh of his teachings. They're really life changing! I thank God for his life and pray that that same zeal may be invested in my own life.
It is so hard for us to deny ourselves and our needs and surrender to Christ and His will. But this is what we must do, if we truly want to decrease and see Christ grow in us. We MUST die so that He can live.
The way I learned to completely abandon the ways of the world is to acknowledge my own vile hypocrisy as well as the reality that I did not love my neighbor as myself. Since then, even the thought of worldly things now disgusts me. When God breaks you, he breaks through that shell that retains those desires. If you feel you can't do it, ask God to break you even if it means crying every last thing out until you are emptied from what you held back. God bless.
Ok video. I think he misses it with healing though. Healing is part of the Kingdom. What kind of Father would put sickness on his children to bring glory to himself? Salvation or sozo means "saved, healed and delivered". We must come with faith. As John G. Lake writes "do Christians have a right to pray if it be thy will when it comes to healing?" The answer is no! The price has already been paid- by His stripes we are healed. As Jesus told the begger- I am willing to heal you.
I've heard from others as well as had personal experiences where after extensive praying for healing God healed the person, literally sparing their life and afterwords their life turned out a wreck. This will often happen when you you put your own interests before God's kingdom. As much as some things hurt, sometimes it's for the better, and it can hurt really bad, I have to admit. It's not easy to agree with God's plan but he can see the end and we cant.
"What kind of Father would put sickness on his children to bring glory to himself?"
OUR Father in heaven would do that. God is most glorified in us when we're most satisfied in Him (even if it hurts). Listen to John Piper's teaching as well.
yes, but He also told the paralytic to "sin no more lest something worse come upon you" We need to realize that sometimes the Lord's discipline results in sickness & only when we repent can we be healed...it's not automatic. That's NOT to say ALL sickness is discipline, but it can be so we need to pray about it when we are sick. Or it could even be like Paul, his thorn in the flesh was to prevent him from becoming proud from visions he had. We need to seek the Lord to find out his will in it.
This blew my mind, I want to know how to get Paul washer to come and speak at my church or university. He would wreck everyones day with good theology. Thanks man
He is so right. So many times when I go to pray, I just think of myself and my needs being met. I forget to seek my Lord's kingdom first. Thank you for posting this up, as a reminder of where our focus should be.

sounds pious, but remember all of the people who came to Jesus in the Gospels weren't necessarily so concerned about the Kingdom. The just knew they were sick or demon possessed and Christ helped them. And He did. we're told to come boldly to the Throne of Grace to receive mercy in our time of need. I think God's just as concerend about a bum knee as anything else.
Praying is a waste of time, unless done as a meditation.

I personally Don't pray to God in Jesus name. Jesus is the son of God.
So I don't pray to God in his son's name.
I pray to God in his Uncle's name. God's uncle is more influential with God than his son.
Try it and you should see about 70 to 75 % success rate.

Its too bad there's no comparisons done between praying and cure rates of various forms of deadly diseases, like cancer.
There must be some Christian doctors out there somewhere that have access to hospital records.
I wonder why its never been done, it would convert a lot of people that require more evidence, not less, when evaluating incredible claims.

Where does illness come from?
Exodus 4:11 And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
What did GOD say regarding Paul's "thorn in the flesh"?
What of Tomothy's stomach illness?
NEITHER WERE HEALED!

No instead i believe Christ is saying that a life of sin = a life of sickness and torment.
