  • I'm really enjoying htis tutorial. I am learning lots Thanks a ton!!!

  • Do I need name it 'Epic Lead' if it does sound epic for me? :D

  • Seems really hard to use WOW

  • @master9716

    Go ue FL studios kid.

  • @CrazyDayDreamer69 I don't understand why people treat FL studio as if it's such a joke product. It's a sequencer like any other. It's not childish to use it and it isn't better or worse than reason, just different in what it does and its layout. Arty uses FL studio and get played on TATW and ASOT etc. regularly. Making great sounding music is all that matters in the end and there's no reason you can't use FL studio for that whether or not it's an entry level sequencer.

  • can you go further into detail on the cords, i cant get mine sounding anything like urs. urs sound like a completely different instrument

  • You and thor should get a room..XD

  • i'm your biggest fan.

  • thanks for these videos!

  • How did I go this long without knowing TAB toggles to the back of the rack... My life has been changed, thank you Dave.

  • i love you <3

  • Rightclick and create a combinator. That is kind of a standard phrase now xD

  • these tutorials are better than any ive seen before. most of them do stuff without even telling you what theyre doing and the sound at the end is always off! good job :)

  • So Thor replaced Maelstrom?

  • I still use reason 2.5, what the hell is THOR and Combinator??

  • @vernymax reason 5 is already out lol

  • love these videos been a long follower, i dont have reason but ive been translating this stuff into ableton 7 and fl studio 9 and using the thor with albino 3, if you have any experience with the other DAWs would you recommend reason much over them?

  • @zrenkert good question

  • @zrenkert I've used FL Studio for about 6 months (not too long, I know), recently switched to Reason 5 (as in 3 days ago). Let's just say, FL Studio: been there, done that, never going back. Reason is less straight forward at first glance, but in the end, once you get used to it (which happens quickly if you're fairly familiar with FL studio), will be just as easy to use. Workflow not quite as good, but everything else, BETTER. My 10 cents, my 2 cents are free ;)

  • @mattfan14 SAME except i think i might still want to somewhat use FL studio cause u know i already got $200 invested in it lol, on that note, what program is this?is it free, if not how much?

  • @OpTicThErmal Going to re-visit that answer actually... Use what you are most comfortable with, as with everything else. It's the only way you'll get the best results :) I'm probably going back to FL studio as I'm more familiar with that. As for the price of Reason, no clue, I got it as a present :) I'd say maybe download it, try it, if you like it, buy it! I haven't been doing much music lately... but when I get the time, I'm probably gonna hop into FL studio again...

  • @mattfan14

try ableton suite 8 you will never go back to FL studio again. try it and you know what workflow is xD

  • NIce Work!!! Keep'em coming.

    Thanks

  • Why is there an advert for BIEBER before this tutorial?? You are way too good for bieber Dave!!

  • Ok so noobie question here, I'm brand new to reason but havent had any trouble following the tutorial thus far. I can't seem to put the notes in to match the timing in the tutorial Are they put in as 32nd notes? Quantised or not? etc. I'm just drawing them in using the pencil tool. No matter how I put them in I can't get the timing to match the tutorial's. Please help...

  • thank you very much to share all this beautiful info!

  • nice ttutorials..ive been making trance tracks with fruity loops lately and actually comin up wit some crazy shit chek it out some time

  • Dave, you are The best . Thank you so much . How can I send you my track? It's almost done i think

  • I must say, your videos have helped me so much! Thanks a lot :D

  • Where can I download this program?

  • Chorus is a cheap way of cloning your oscillators... I have a good Trance Lead Supersaw like this but no artificial overtones phasing out my harmonics in weird ways.

  • its hard to get a really good supersaw

  • You are an epic LEAD-er.

  • I surprised me saying "Hi dave!" at the beginin of the tutorial.

  • You make hard things seem so easy it's almost embarrassing.. (In a good way) and your touch of humor totally binds the interest. :)

    Why isn't school-teachers like this? :O

Thanks for putting all this on Youtube and your site, gives totally newbies like myself hope! :)

  • Really, really no.

And I'm pretty sure you're confusing Christian with British.

  • pahaha like the reply :P

  • @wwwboyinabandcom

    lmao... with a capital A

  • @wwwboyinabandcom lullulululululul

  • @wwwboyinabandcom where from in england are you?? im guessing english because you dont sound welsh, scottish or irish XD

  • @B1ggz13 how could someone sound christian?

  • Thanks for the slice of epic taste Mr Pie!!!!

  • do you recommend to do our melodies before or after the full settings?

  • good point but i guess again its all to do with you own personal input

  • I personally make an effect similar to what I'm going to end up using, then make the melody, then perfect the effect once the melody is recorded :)

As DjSTALKERgavint said though, it's down to you!

  • Your stuff is really informative and great, especially when your almost completely new to reason. It so help full and I thank you so much for doing all of this!

  • So nice Dave, you have taught me so much! Thanks alot. Could you tell me what you think about my Drum And Bass song "Orbital Speedway"?? Thanks again.

  • sounds kind of like really old school, i don't know... would love to hear some kyau & albert, gareth emery, dash berlin type of more contemporary stuff... dunno if it is possible in reason though. that's what i want to know!!

  • mate. preaty much anything is possible in reason haha. i did a taster day at a local colledge in music tech. some guy created a near perfect version of eine kleine nacht music by mozart. (y)

  • About time Dave :P been waiting for ages!
