Amazing thing is your bike is like 3 times faster (not top speed but acceleration) than mine and its only 100 cc more than mine. I've got the old school ninja 500R. Your bike would distroy mine in a race lol.
thats crazy, im learning on a harley street bob every like 10-15 mph is a shift and its a 1200 cc bike, i cant imagine jus shifting once lmao thats why i love the ninja tho its a supersport that can go on the Track and around town awesome bike bro. ride safe :D
@kinwai27271 The whole point of the "blip" is to keep the rear tire from losing traction and skidding while you slow down. You can blip if you like, but I usually dont because this bike has an excellent slipper clutch, so the blip isnt necessary.
He's talking about how you stay in 6th gear @ 50mph and don't down shift until your coming to a near stop, then you shift all the way from 6th to 1st in about 2 seconds.
And it depends on the situation, typically I'll do the same thing, it saves on gas when your just cruising and keeps the engine temp down. You don't need to ride a lower gear going that fast, and when you want to start accelerating again you just downshift into the power band.
@unknwn55 Ah, I see. Well I'm not on the race track so I don't see the need to downshift at such a high speed/rpm. I wasn't setting up to come flying into a corner, and be hard back on the throttle coming out. But hell, any street riding you do is going to require you to ride in this manner, unless you plan on only using only 1st and 2nd gear all the time.
@ryandonian I've seen a few videos where people have wired in an external mic. If you do a little digging, I'm sure you can find the videos here on youtube to show you how to do it.
I just bought the same camera, but I seem to have a problem uploading my first vid. How did you upload yours??? I am trying to upload the vids straight from the camera to youtube. Please advise.
really impressed with the sound quality, i'm looking at getting a contour for motocross and this confirmed my choice over the go pro. you hear the engine over the wind without it drowning out all ambient noise you'd hear actually riding your bike.
@ilikepie5720 Yeah, the mic works really good. You can adjust the volume of it to your liking. On mine, I covered the mic hole with a small piece of electrical tape to help reduce wind noise, as well as to help keep water and debris out out of the camera.
@endeavor635650 i figured i could always put foam over the mic if it was horribly winding, but i really like your idea. thanks for the idea. not like my motocrosser will ever break 80 anyway, so wind noise will never be too bad in comparison to this run.
@ilikepie5720 I just bought a kx250f and have yet to ride on the bike with the contour. However, I did do a little run on a kx100 that I had for a short time. Using the goggle mount, the contour is out in the open and the wind will whistle around it a little bit, even with the slower speeds of mx. Not really bad, but if a little piece of tape is all you need to fix it, then might as well. haha
@endeavor635650 all the guys i ride with run contour cameras and the have almost zero wind noise when they post stuff. Might as well use a little tape, post some stuff when you do take the camera on the dirt.
@akakopka1 Damn man, chill out! I had to. That little stretch of road has dips and is very uneven. That's why I was weaving. Last time I tried to hit it hard, the front end started skipping around and nearly caused me to go down.
Nice vid about to buy a contour hd and this made my decision! Are you able to get full tuck with it on tho?
Btw seeing a zx6r accel makes me so happy I only rode a f4i for 1 season then a 750 and now a 04 zx10r. I would hate accelerating that slow =/ Really is just insane how much faster a liter bike is.
Nice vid.....you have to love the ninja scream, I have an older ZX6R and wouldn't change for the world, kudos to you for the smile at missing 5th we all do it but seldom admit it, happy riding mate.
Kawasaki went back to 599cc in 07 to qualify for the middleweight class. And I was rolling off throttle between shifts. I was just a bit out of sync with the clutch and shifter. ;)
This guy knows what hes talking about. Weren't most of the zx6r's before 09 636's? I'm not a big fan of not rolling off the throttle when you were shifting at the beginning but whatevs.
I was torn between a zx10 and a zx6, both 2011, but after seeing how long it takes to get up to speed, i went with the zx10.....I think my old zx9r could rock the new zx6s....nice bikes though, just not enough power for me.
@MsBrandy1987 First of all, this isn't an 07, it's an 09. Second, I didn't say 165 was all it could do. I said ABOUT 165. That's a realistic number. Any more than that takes you drafting somebody or the wind pushing you. Read the video description.

I do not like when someone downshifts all gears at "once". Meaning that you reach 50 mph on 6th, 40 mph on 5th, etc. I hope that you get my point.

@ILRappin it's typical of any sport bike: you're crouched over a bit with body weight on your wrists. however, your body will adjust to it after a few hours of ride time. the seat is kinda in the medium range for firmness, not the softest, yet not the hardest. the bar/seat height ratio is pretty good so if you position your butt a bit forward on the seat you can relieve a lot of the weight on your wrists. All in all, I'd say its pretty comfy for a sport bike.
