GOD... you're so right..it's gettin seriously tiring of listening to ppl who claim to be 'fans' but end up dissing DU. which rules. just cuz they're evolving and tryin out new sounds, doesn't mke them 'gay', 'crap' etc. would u want a band that duznt give 2 shits about their music n keeps producing the SAME sound over n over agn?!! no so shut it. their nu album is still as awesome as the old ones- 'the interview' among others off DU jst shows that they've got so much talent

yes, you certainly can be a huge fan and not like the new material. everything from the dork 7" up to sing the sorrow was perfect. if you listen to punk rock and hardcore, of course you're going to be disappointed when one of your favorite hardcore bands starts experimenting with new wave and electronica, its going to bum you out no matter how awesome those old records are.

tons of bands i love have released bad records and it doesn't make me any less of a fan of the good material.

100% agree AFI 1991-2003 sing the sorrow was was their last awesome album, but ohh boy the year 2006 ruined AFI in my eyes they are still my fav band though R.I.P AFI 1991-2003

for alot of us, they basically are gone now.

prior to sing the sorrow if you liked afi you felt like you were special for liking this amazing band that barely anybody knew about. they'd tour with soia, the nerve agents, ensign, bands like that, and you would go apeshit when they played. it was incredible.

now they play watered down cure covers for fat hot topic employees.

not really, and this video is far from their early days. these guys in their early days were a pretty standard california punk band with bleached hair. they didn;t take the influence of dark themes bands like the misfits until much later on.
