I'm proud to say that as a kid, I had the Game Boy Kid Icarus game. It was a lot less difficult compared to the NES version, but still pretty challenging, and it was an awesome feeling beating the game in the end.
Cool adding the artwork from the original game manual. I remember being hooked on this game and taking the booklet with me to school to draw the monsters in my notebook instead of paying attention in class. lol go nostalgia
i don't know if some others have said this, but there is also a variation in greek mythology of a inventor called daedalus who was locked up with his son icarus. daedalus, being an inventor, was sneaky and made wings and attached them to his and his son's backs with a glue. he told his son not to stray too far up or the glue would melt. disregarding the advice when they jumped out the window, icarus flew high into the sky, glue melted, and fell to his death. I hope this was helpful. :D
captain n is probably the reason pitt has only had two games. I mean think about simon belmont was also in the show but he has never been in any new castlevania games. And why mega man is still being made they have made some bad mega man games like the battle network series megaman 7 and megaman 64
Captain N was awesome. Simon Belmont appeared in a few games after Captain N. Super Castlevania 4, the best game in the series released after Captain N was off the air. Then you had the ok port Chronicles for PSX in the late 90s. Mega Man turned into the X series in 93. Both Metroid and Kid didn't have any new games until well after the 90s. Sometimes that's just how it happens. Also kid is getting uprising for the 3DS this year.

Mega Man games are not made too often. It seems that every once in a while there might be a new Mega Man game for the DS, but it seems that every once in a while there are new Castlevania games as well.
I had the original cart. Love it. I am always surprise that the only sequal was the GB game. Maybe the character design is not all that unique. And the gameplay is similar to Metroid. So maybe Nintendo wanted a more distintive game.

i LOVE kid icarus. i understand why people think this is/was a hard game, i could never get past level 1-3 when i was 10. However, as an adult playing on the VC, i realized that once you learn HOW to play, it's actually pretty easy. the trick is kill everything you can in each level, ESP 1-1 & 1-2. Racking up points will help you power up quickly b/w levels. If you can learn how to make it through levels 1-1 to 1-3 without dying, you'll eventually be able to beat the game with no deaths.
Yep, I'd stay there and keep killing enemies until they stopped respawning. Getting those extra life bars early on is crucial. And when I stumbled upon the reaper positions in those rooms in an issue of Nintendo Power it helped immensely.

@lifeisgood9947 Acually to be honest, I don't have it it's just I have been doing my studying on the 3DS to show how excited I am for it to come out I think it maybe backwards campatible though and since you want to learn so much about it then heres a couple of cool things about it. It looks alot like how DS systems look now but it now has a joystick like button on it and a really cool thing about it is that there is a contrrast thing that lets you make it as 3-D as you want (or 2-D)! :D

download a nes emulator and look up the nes games as roms if you get every game that was made for the nes, it takes 20 mbs..
Do not get the old system nor the games, the hardware was made so poorly that humidity would rust the connectors and cause your game to reset uncontrollably in the middle of play. plus the controllers are not built for comfort and will give you nintendo thumbs.
besides, the emulators come with game genie, and you can use what ever pc controller you want.
First off, I don't have a PC. Second, I don't like using emulators, partly because they don't work that well all the time and partly because its not the same as having a real NES. Besides, I can buy a NES with a new 72-pin connector on the internet for 50$ with a zapper, 2 controllers, AC adapter, RCA cables, and super mario bros./ duck hunt.
Man, I've had this game since it first came out on NES (and still have the original cartridge) and I loved it. I also hated it cause I could never make it really far without codes. Also has some of the best and most memorable music in an any NES game. This makes me want to play it again, but I'm sure I will still suck at it...:)

I have to disagree about those centurions you free from stone in the dungeons. They are absolutely useless during the boss. They almost always die within the first few seconds.

The Brawl look hits Pit around 15 years of age so I guess that could work well. I wonder if it is going to be side-scrolling, a platformer like Super Mario Galaxy, or a complete 3-d platformer.
I'm one of the few people that don't like this game.Well, I like it, but I find it to be harder than Contra. If it wasn't as hard, I'd like it. (I love hard games, but this is a little rediculous.)
as far as those that think this game is hard...get past level 1 lol. personally, i like to level grind on level 1 until i get my arrow strength up, plus it gets me plenty of hearts so you can quickly get upgrades. Buy that shield item, and the rest of the game is cake. AWESOME game!

Actually, technically, its nowhere near confirmed but theres been so much talk, demand, leaked footage, and rumors that its generally guarenteed that it will be released within the Wii lifespan.

Yup I know, I always hold it sideways, I have about 30 games on virtual console. the 1 button does not shoot like it should.

I have to disagree about those centurions you free from stone in the dungeons. They are absolutely useless during the boss. They almost always die within the first few seconds.

I wish they would make another Kid Icarus for the Wii, just as long as they keep Pit young, perhaps use Pit's Brawl look.

The Brawl look hits Pit around 15 years of age so I guess that could work well. I wonder if it is going to be side-scrolling, a platformer like Super Mario Galaxy, or a complete 3-d platformer.

The password system does work on the virtual console, I've used it several times. The cheat codes were taken out, though.
And I agree, those Eggplant Wizards are annoying as a broken howler monkey record.

I'm one of the few people that don't like this game.Well, I like it, but I find it to be harder than Contra. If it wasn't as hard, I'd like it. (I love hard games, but this is a little rediculous.)

as far as those that think this game is hard...get past level 1 lol. personally, i like to level grind on level 1 until i get my arrow strength up, plus it gets me plenty of hearts so you can quickly get upgrades. Buy that shield item, and the rest of the game is cake. AWESOME game!
