I have seizures myself and I KNOW that anything over 5 minutes is considered status epilepticus & requires IMMEDIATE attention in the ER. 6 1/2 minutes is very long for a seizure (ANY seizure) so I dont appreciate you just putting things on here that are false when many dont understand the real condition. I just thought you should know, that a grand-mal seizure and a tonic-clonic seizure are the same thing! The neurons electrically discharge all over the brain and would cause a continuous movement or stiffining or both. not start, stop, start again. You go to a epilepsy center for more intense monitoring where the can test for psuedo seizures. Most people with psuedo seizures never realize it's not Epilepsy at all. I also find it funny that now your telling people that it was a CP!! LMAO
k...I don't want to seem callous but what you are experiencing is most likely muscle spasms or myclonic spasms, but not epilepsy. I hope you get better soon but please don't post his as a seizure disorder until you have confirmation of such. If is is lime disease, your symptoms will disappear (if they are true symptoms) and you will be well again. Epilepsy is a life sentence...seriously. It is not something to make light of.

It took me 3 hours to remember my name, where I was, the town I lived in, day of the week, year, month, age. Four months later haven't had another and have problems with reading, math and some visuals. College grade in quatum theory mathematics 99.3,now I can't.

I would like to thank her for putting this on for all to see, my daughter is suffering also, and now she has more seizures than she used to. It has been helpful to me to see it happen to others and have something to compare my daughters too.

I've had seizure myself in the past and they can be very scarey when you do come round, and there's people all around you, Docter's ext, it can be very hard, I've cryed when i came around before. I have epilepsy and I have Complex Partials and TCs.... but what I was most amazed about with your video was the response of your dogs. I know there are "seizure response" dogs who are trained to recognize a seizure before it happens, but your dogs quite obviously understand what has happened to you and are clearly trying to rouse you at the end of your video.
They are truly talented dogs.
They obviously care about you enough to try and bring you back to the land of the conscious.
I just had my first seizure four days ago and it was brought on by hypoglycemia. I watched the video because I wanted to know what actually happened to me when I was unconcious. It's an interuption of the brain signals from the neurons. There are many reasons people can have seizures.
It's very similar to what your body does when it's hit by an electric shock. You lose control of your muscles, and with seizures, you can lose unconsciouness.

I googled on videos of seizures to learn more, because someone with seizures has just come to stay with us. Like most people I am frightened - no idea what to expect and what to do. No it's not pretty but I feel much more comfortable having stared reality in the face and more able to help. Reading the comments, learning no two seizures are alike is also helpful. Bless you for your courage and generosity in posting this! This sort of information sharing is so valuable.

Thanks alot. It's great for you to post since it's not garden variety clonic/tonic. I have mainly sensory/ motor and psychic SPS. I get horrible jamais vu episodes and memory loss and what I call word salad. which is awful to explain. One minute you're fine fine, the next you dont know where you are your leg is being stung by bees and you look at people and say "4 dimes bells sing" or something nuts. Yep I get accused of faking or being crazy. pfft whatever. be healthy as u can dude!

Mmkay....based off what I've heard AND experienced, You can only get a seizure from looking at flashing colorful things..my friend Michael had one just the other day for sitting too close to the screen while watching me play DDR.
Xfuzzy, you could not be more mistaken. There are many different kinds of seizures, not all are brought on by lights flashing. I have tonic clonic seizures as well, and although I couldnt tell you what happens (as I am unconcious), I have to say your stupidity is more of an afliction.

It's not fake. Only about 3% of people with epilepsy react to flashing lights/colors like you say. That's called photo-sensitive, it's a type of trigger. But a seizure can be brought on by stress, alcohol or drugs, sleep deprivation, or even not eating right. I have epilepsy.
Most partial seizures; simple and complex. But I've had a couple secondarily generalized(granmal)as well...

I was having fits with only a minute or 2 between, but was put in a coma and on a breathing machine because of it and it's pretty rare for that to happen and if it does it's very serious and 911 needs to be phoned.
I think there is confusion between non epileptic seizures and pseudosiezures.. one is a seizure caused by things like low blood sugar or liver/kidney issues.. the other is not a seizure at all, but looks like one.. hence NOT REAL/PSUEDO!!!
I had around 40 seizures over 2 weeks ( was in ICU for most of it and was fitting while in a drug induced coma) and haven't had any since taking Dilanton. I dunno.. this person states I have complex partials, but in this vid it says a tonic clonic, I see no clear tonic phase, cry out at onset, stiffing of body or stiffing with limbs pulled up tight and no clear clonic phase, stiffing of limbs and jerking in limbs and mouth. I know some people can only get 1 of each phase, but I see none of that here, there is no stiffing of limbs, classic sign, slow it down to watch and can see, i have epilepsy & surely this person would not remain on the couch so easily.
If this is real I apologise, but I have seen quite a few over that past year and I just don't believe yours are epileptic. Do you wet your pants? bite your tongue? How long after do you sleep for?
Also you don't have minute break in between seizures and start again, unless like me you have had status epilepticus and are going into one seizure after another, and unless your a child and have other problems associated with epilepsy, I cannot see how this person remains floppy with no limb stiffness, unless I have a doctor run through the whole seizure or episode with me, I remain unconvinced that this is true in the nature of epilepsy.

I posted here over a year ago and since have also been diagnosed with epilepsy. It was triggered from a bad mix of meds but is easily treatable as it is hereditory. My daughter has it also.
I got Aura's too, but don't remember them.
Apparantly I always mentioned a metalic taste in my mouth... sometimes I said like a vapour, then I would fit, and often injured myself from the fall and thrashing about.

Partial Complex seizures are different from one person to the next. There are really no "textbook" complex partial seizures as the seizure varies depending from which part of the brain it originates.
I have my Bachelors in Nursing and I have a history of complex partial seizures. I have not had a seizure in over 5 years. Hears hoping for five more seizure free years.

I know how you feel it is awful to watch someone else have a seizure. Im only 15 but had my first at 14. I had convulsions as a baby. I have been to the hospital numerous times for scans but nothing has come up. The doctors have decided Im an attention seeker and that Im faking and another decided it was because of mental issues. I work in a neuro unit...can i just point out pseudo seizures are different from faking...epileptic is from signals being misdirected in the brain...pseudo seizures or commonly called non-epileptic seizures are cause by maybe low blood sugar, funny heart rhythm or psychological causes..... not to be mistaken as fake

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I don't profess to know much about it other than what my son is going through. My 21 month old son, Jacob has had several diagnosis since he was 5 months old. First was Infantile Spasms, then infantile epilepsy and now Lennox Gastaut Sydrome. His seizures are very different from yours, but I have found that all seizures are not only different on their own, but in each individual person they are different. Take care and God bless!!

With tonic clonic seizures your whole body starts off with contraction and tension of all muscles with extreme ridgitity and hyperflexion of the back.People then experience muscle spasms with rythmic movements including clenched jaws making breathing difficult. Incontinence is also very likely. So please, come on girl. This is not real and by the way its called an aura not an aurora!
LOL I was crackin up bout that. I was like ummmm not so much. For the last 4 days I have had 1-2 seizures a day. I am sooooo tired after. I was on meds for a while and the seizures are breaking through I went to the hospital yesterday and they loaded me up with Dilantin....that mess....ugh I don't know that this is necessarily fake because I have seen people have seizures and it just depends on the level and type seizure it is......

My aunt has seizures only when under stress and hers are horrible she screams because she has bad musclespasms along with it so her joins twist and lock in place. It is like her body is slowly braking on it's own. It is terrible because she is in and out of sleep for hours and she always has like 6 in a row one after another and we feel helpless.
My neighbor has been having seizures and sent the whole block in a panic one nite. i tried to go help but im n a wheelchair and I couldnt get past a chair to see. I could hear him gasping and the screamin of his girl freakin out....now I can see why.;(

I just had my first seizure four days ago and it was brought on by hypoglycemia. I watched the video because I wanted to know what actually happened to me when I was unconcious. Thank you for showing yourself going through this. It gave me an idea of what a person's body does during an episode. I hope you get better. God bless.

It's an interuption of the brain signals from the neurons. There are many reasons people can have seizures.
It's very similar to what your body does when it's hit by an electric shock. You lose control of your muscles, and with seizures, you can lose unconsciouness.

I googled on videos of seizures to learn more, because someone with seizures has just come to stay with us. Like most people I am frightened - no idea what to expect and what to do. No it's not pretty but I feel much more comfortable having stared reality in the face and more able to help. Reading the comments, learning no two seizures are alike is also helpful. Bless you for your courage and generosity in posting this! This sort of information sharing is so valuable.

Thanks alot. It's great for you to post since it's not garden variety clonic/tonic. I have mainly sensory/ motor and psychic SPS. I get horrible jamais vu episodes and memory loss and what I call word salad. which is awful to explain. One minute you're fine fine, the next you dont know where you are your leg is being stung by bees and you look at people and say "4 dimes bells sing" or something nuts. Yep I get accused of faking or being crazy. pfft whatever. be healthy as u can dude!

Mmkay....based off what I've heard AND experienced, You can only get a seizure from looking at flashing colorful things..my friend Michael had one just the other day for sitting too close to the screen while watching me play DDR.

its true you can get a seizure from flashing objects, but you can also get a silent seizure which allows the person's mind to be blank for a couple of minutes and then it starts to get worse, it feels like ur breathing has stopped. It might seem like a fake video but its not trust me.

It's not fake. Only about 3% of people with epilepsy react to flashing lights/colors like you say. That's called photo-sensitive, it's a type of trigger. But a seizure can be brought on by stress, alcohol or drugs, sleep deprivation, or even not eating right. I have epilepsy.
Most partial seizures; simple and complex. But I've had a couple secondarily generalized(granmal)as well...

This is put on. While your having a seizure you don't put your leg off the couch and then bring it back up a minute later to a comfortable position. I think this is a big show. Sorry, that's my opinion from observation.

Look up information regaurding partial seizures; simple and complex. Some people can have seizures and not lose consciousness, remain standing, or even walk around...I have partial seizures, as well as some secondarily generalized(granmal)

I was having fits with only a minute or 2 between, but was put in a coma and on a breathing machine because of it and it's pretty rare for that to happen and if it does it's very serious and 911 needs to be phoned.
I think there is confusion between non epileptic seizures and pseudosiezures.. one is a seizure caused by things like low blood sugar or liver/kidney issues.. the other is not a seizure at all, but looks like one.. hence NOT REAL/PSUEDO!!!

I had around 40 seizures over 2 weeks ( was in ICU for most of it and was fitting while in a drug induced coma) and haven't had any since taking Dilanton. I dunno.. I'd hate to say it's fake if it isn't.. I feel sad for you anyway. You are very brave to put this on youtube.. I couldn't even look at a vid of myself having a fit.

this person states I have complex partials, but in this vid it says a tonic clonic, I see no clear tonic phase, cry out at onset, stiffing of body or stiffing with limbs pulled up tight and no clear clonic phase, stiffing of limbs and jerking in limbs and mouth. I know some people can only get 1 of each phase, but I see none of that here, there is no stiffing of limbs, classic sign, slow it down to watch and can see, i have epilepsy & surely this person would not remain on the couch so easily.

Also you don't have minute break in between seizures and start again, unless like me you have had status epilepticus and are going into one seizure after another, and unless your a child and have other problems associated with epilepsy, I cannot see how this person remains floppy with no limb stiffness, unless I have a doctor run through the whole seizure or episode with me, I remain unconvinced that this is true in the nature of epilepsy.

I posted here over a year ago and since have also been diagnosed with epilepsy. It was triggered from a bad mix of meds but is easily treatable as it is hereditory. My daughter has it also.
I got Aura's too, but don't remember them.
Apparantly I always mentioned a metalic taste in my mouth... sometimes I said like a vapour, then I would fit, and often injured myself from the fall and thrashing about.

Partial Complex seizures are different from one person to the next. There are really no "textbook" complex partial seizures as the seizure varies depending from which part of the brain it originates.
I have my Bachelors in Nursing and I have a history of complex partial seizures. I have not had a seizure in over 5 years. Hears hoping for five more seizure free years.

-Seizure just a little different and it doesn't mean its fake just not something you've seen normally. Read the description she states clearly that she doesn't have epilepsy but has seizures due to the neurological affects of lyme diease which in itself can cause usual seizure activity so if you don't believe its real don't watch it. well i am not, i slowed down the video and studied it and its not real epilepsy in the true sense, the person may think it is real but they need help, lots of people do this for attention, remember munchousen disease thats real for sure, you can't have 30 plus seizures a day like this, you'd be braindead, don't care what you say i know what i believe and thats all that matters, oh if it is was real she would not prop herself back up on the couch, she would not be lying so straight on the couch.

My aunt and sister have seizures and they are grand mals but there not similar to anyone elses on here but hers. Seizures are different in every individual. You can most definitly get them on film if you have time my sister gets a bad headache for 1 min and then passes out for like 2mins then her she sucks her tongue her neck shakes, then her arms start flying while her abs shake and cave in, then her legs start kicking all the while she can hear and see you she just can't speak. What's even more horrible: Someone who goes online and fakes a seizure to get attention. If anyone wants to see a real seizure, look up the video "Me having a seizure". This guy is really having a seizure and that is what it really looks like.

I know how you feel it is awful to watch someone else have a seizure. Im only 15 but had my first at 14. I had convulsions as a baby. I have been to the hospital numerous times for scans but nothing has come up. The doctors have decided Im an attention seeker and that Im faking and another decided it was because of mental issues. I hope one day they'll do something to help. But knowing hundreds of people go through this helps. Take Care

I work in a neuro unit...can i just point out pseudo seizures are different from faking...epileptic is from signals being misdirected in the brain...pseudo seizures or commonly called non-epileptic seizures are cause by maybe low blood sugar, funny heart rhythm or psychological causes..... not to be mistaken as fake

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I don't profess to know much about it other than what my son is going through. My 21 month old son, Jacob has had several diagnosis since he was 5 months old. First was Infantile Spasms, then infantile epilepsy and now Lennox Gastaut Sydrome. His seizures are very different from yours, but I have found that all seizures are not only different on their own, but in each individual person they are different. Take care and God bless!!

With tonic clonic seizures your whole body starts off with contraction and tension of all muscles with extreme ridgitity and hyperflexion of the back.People then experience muscle spasms with rythmic movements including clenched jaws making breathing difficult. Incontinence is also very likely. So please, come on girl. This is not real and by the way its called an aura not an aurora!

I was on meds for a while and the seizures are breaking through I went to the hospital yesterday and they loaded me up with Dilantin....that mess....ugh I don't know that this is necessarily fake because I have seen people have seizures and it just depends on the level and type seizure it is......

My aunt has seizures only when under stress and hers are horrible she screams because she has bad musclespasms along with it so her joins twist and lock in place. It is like her body is slowly braking on it's own. It is terrible because she is in and out of sleep for hours and she always has like 6 in a row one after another and we feel helpless.

I am shocked !, I have something like this but its where all of a sudden for no reason my whole body starts shaking where ever I am and its extremely annoying and the worst days are where there like 40 minutes apart there small version but extremely annoying I got meds for it !

i def question this also. i have tonic clonics & ive vid taped it + watched & there is nothing similar between the 2. Before i have a seizure i feel really sluggish, then i feel nauseous/get a butterfly feeling U get when ur going down a rollar coaster. and the begining of a tonic clonic normally starts out with stiffening of the arms & legs + my eyes roll up & a few seconds later i start 2 jerk i make realy weird sounds and i drool yuck- and sometimes im incontent:( this is most likely not real
