The whole LoTR trilogy and The Hobbit are just epicly made by tolkein and so beautifully honoured by Jackson that everyone loves this. I really hope that he does go off and make Halo. If he can show the same amount of passion and compassion for the original content like he's done with Tolkein. The Halo movie would be insanely good.

The Hobbit and LotR are so old, but still SO fantastic. The best books ever written. And they had a so beautiful update those last 10 years with the movies... No book (nor movie) is even close! The two: Tolkien and Peter Jackson!

I grew up around Lord Of The Rings.

I was about 6 or 7 when I first saw them. I found it amazing because when I first saw the films, I was 3 foot 6 inches tall with curly hair. Nearly perfectly matching the description of a Hobbit. It was a big part of my childhood and the most inspiring quotes make me who I am as a teenager.

Some directors would just do this on a greenscreen instead of location *cough*Lucas!*cough* and wouldn't get personal with their actors at all (like 00:36), but Peter Jackson does the job right. So excited for this movie!

@SpecialAgentRavage It might also help that he's collaborated with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens as well. For "New Hope" and "Empire", George Lucas had a filter in Gary Kurtz. Without that filter, he ended up going roughshod, beginning with Jedi's Ewoks, to Jar Jar Binks when he did the prequels. The fact that Jackson is willing to allow creative input by others gives me reassurance that he won't make bullheaded and profit-minded decisions like Lucas has.
