  • yeah that pre crush panel definitely sounds like it has a weak ram. what would cause that? air in the lines weak hydraulic pumps or does this truck have 1 pump for everything.

  • It has one hydraulic pump, I'm guessing the panel just had a weak cylinder, low pressure.

  • arnt hydraulic pumps external gear pumps or is something else used?

  • I would guess there is probably a single gear pump being driven by the engine, then valves direct the oil pressure to the front or rear of each ram to actuate them

A weak ram would be caused by oil blowing by the piston inside the ram as high pressures. To fix this you need a new seal and possibly replate and bore.

  • alas, it put up quite a fight

  • Despite the truck's age, that old MSL McNeilus/Navistar S-4900 showed that oven who's BOSS!!! I like the sound of that DT-466 engine. That transmission PTO sounds MEAN!!! GREAT VID!!!!

  • Thanks, sounds like you know your stuff!

  • You're welcome! I use to read a lot about class 8 truck chassis and still keep up. In addition, I love garbage trucks! From what I've seen, you have the best garbage crushing channels on You Tube!!! esp, with custom texts, vid frame transitions and music on Windows Movie Maker!! Your vids kick major ass!!!

  • @WasteCnxsideloader how do you film and work

  • what truck is this

  • which truck was this

  • Cool the best smash video ever along with the big screen tv keep the videos coming.

  • Wow, nice video. How many gallons of gas did it take to run that oven thru? What kind of retirement package did you get with that task? LOL just think that design is so flawed for appliances and large items. REAR loaders are still king of the crop in my book!

  • Yes,rear loaders are much more effecient with large items (this truck is exceptionally slow btw) but at the end of the day I get my route done alot sooner than if i was in a RL,because you can pick up everything else alot faster.Unless you have a good helper on the back of that rearload, you cant beat the MSL/ASL for one man operation.

  • Not to forget that side loaders are more interesting to watch!

  • That oven was on the tuff side..You said you could pack a tree trunck but if your truck was full of logs you couldn't crush one it would hold back your packer.Cause a solid chunk of wood is uncrushable that truck can't do that..But it is a real powerfull thing........

  • Sorry can't beat a rear-loader for this sort of thing. The Geesing Vulture is the best for that (see my vid of the chairs)

  • quick get me a turkey! i need to throw it in the oven for Christmas dinner before he crushes it.

  • There must be objects a garbage truck is unable to crush such as a big tree trunk

  • Hehe ive packed tree trunks also. The limitation there would be weight,as in something extremely heavy that I cannot lift into the truck. If it is an object that cannot be crushed the packer will still push it into the rest of the trash.

  • DAMN.. these trux just eat anything u throw into them

  • Now that's destruction!

  • WOW she put up a good fight but the stoves gone now !!

  • WOW, what a lame pre-crusher!

That stove put up a pretty good fight...

As always this was a lot of fun to watch...I could watch your truck eat stuff all day...

  • could be worse you could have has a front loader then you be there all day packing that

  • I have been down that road with an appliance that curled around the top of the packer blade....what a pain in the ass. It was my fault...I was watching some hottie in a short skirt cross the road....god I love hotties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dam girls will always get us into trouble at our jobs but there fun to look at LOL

  • Girls...I love them sooo much. They are such yummy, tasty, little treats. The joy of being a truck driver is that you see them all day long.....being a garbageman has it's hidden benefits!

  • it must :)

  • Trashratt: I drive a bucket truck and do streetlight repair often and trust me a bucket truck has pretty good " Recreational Hottie-Watching" benefits! I have learned one lesson: If you see one that really takes your attention away, try NOT to drool into a socket or let your tongue roll out of your head and into live equipment... Kinda brings you back to the real world quickly! LOL

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, That was funny! I guess it's safe to say you have a birds eye view! A real "LIVE" shot of some of the HOTTIEEES that walk the streets and cause us to Whistle or yell out " hay baby "!!!!! I love them so much! Peace out from Canada-home of the Beavers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We have that problem with the rear loaders here, mashers and dryers seem to do that a lot, still, they are fun to crush!

  • i seen the bulk waste guy trying too pack a sofa for a half hr he was inside the trying too push it down with his foot

  • You say this truck has a weak crusher panel, which setup do you think gives you better results this setup or you regular truck with the panel above the body opening?

  • I think either way is about equally effective. If this crusher panel was working properly it would have a slight advantage over my regular truck because it goes down into the hopper a little farther, but my regular truck is considerably more powerfull.
