  • i loved the beating shot as the use of shadow made the assailants look bigger, more numerous and menacing whilst simultaneously diminishing the victim...

  • 10:12 is a very Kubrickean shot. So far, the film has had subtle touches of Kubrick's style, but nowhere NEAR the level of 2001 or ACO. However, that one shot is composed much like Kubrick's later films. Look at ACO's "tramp beating" scene, look at 2001's shot of the monolith with the sun above it, look at the many steadicam scenes in "The Shining". They all contain THAT SHOT at 10:12, where the set design/location forms a pyramid structure from the camera's POV.

  • @Bassbait Thats right, he was in recuited to freemasonry from very early in his career.

  • @Quex01 No. That's not what I meant. It's more of a matter of symbolism related to the plot of the films rather than related to occultism or freemasonry. I don't believe in that crap. I just think that he used the symbolism of freemasonry for context within his own films.

  • @Bassbait you're very observant, but not that much as you should, lol

  • Thanks
