I think you are misunderstanding what an ordered list means in HTML. This is from w3.org: "An ordered list, created using the OL element, should contain information where order should be emphasized, as in a recipe..."
Unordered lists are lists without *emphasis* on the order. That's why UL doesn't have numbers and OL has. You are using OL here to do what UL was made for.
@toofruitfull I am of the same opinion. Not only that, the text that he was marking up was given to him as un-ordered, which tells me that there is no emphasis on the order.
i downloaded the crimson editor you recommended. i can't seem to find this but does it have an tuao complete feature like your editor does? seems to make it much easier.

I'm doing this in Dreamweaver, how do I make my elements wrap around my highlighted text like he's done? Can Dreamweaver do this?
If I select the text I want the element parameters for, I'll begin typing the elements and all the text just changes to what I type. :(

To get the auto complete he is using, it's called Wrap Tag. On Dreamweaver just select it and press Ctrl + T.

Great job. Good clarity & examples on the semantic markup concept & the tip at the end of putting the ul inside the li was helpful.
