  • 0:17 fatty fighter xD

  • @fliper9002 hahaha if you pause it its funny

  • Isn't this a little to fast? Or is it just different ways to perform it?

    Great pattern!

  • This is my favorite pattern ^^ i dont know why i just like it

  • @doom13131 me too.

  • is this master clint norman?

  • I hate watching kids do this pattern because they always try to jump as far as they possibly can...

  • @Kyle17880000 i use to do that, and i still do subconciously. but you can learn anything with perseverance and the right attitude

  • Hate this pattern :/ San maki makes me feel like such a tard ^^

  • He needs to work on 0:20 to 0:28. It looks like he thinks he's Godzilla or something.

  • @kickerwithkick2 W shaped blocks (14. Move the left foot to F in a stamping motion turning clockwise to form a sitting stance toward D while executing a W-shape block to D with the left outer forearm.)

W shape can be used to block two oncoming attacks from either side but i see it as the front arm (the way your moving and looking) is the primary block, the secondary/behind arm is your reaction force.

  • @tkd14wilson

It was explained to me that the exaggerated torsion of the torso puts some really good mass into the block --> The stomp. The stomp is meant to make the technique committed.

I like to think of patterns as excersizes in precision, unison action, control, concentration, and meta-gaming the human body. If you can find an understanding or a purpose in the moves in a pattern, you can have a better theoretical understanding of how the system of TKD was designed to work in various --

  • @tkd14wilson (cont) optimal scenarios while also building essential muscle groups, working on knowing what movements with what body parts are taking place for which purpose, developing good stances, keeping your eyes up and concentrating/controlling your breathing.

    I think, anyway. : /

    I hate X shape blocks.

  • @MrFail029 grrr *W shaped blocks*

stupid typos... the letters aren't even on the same area of the keyboard..

  • oh god, i have to learn this pattern next... should be interesting

  • someone's in a hurry

  • I here, that Tea Kwon-Do is like water. It should be flows, but in this case, it lokks like Karate. Hart and not like water.

  • whoa! slow down buddy.

  • those kicks from 20-28 are supposed to be front rising kicks... that was ridiculas

  • @Ferrato94 haha! kicks?! its W shape block WITH YOUR HANDS!

"move 13 (through to move 18 alternating left or right each move). Move the right foot to F in a stamping motion forming a sitting stance toward C while executing a W-shape block to C with the right outer forearm"

these patterns were over seen by General Choi when he was alive so they are correct, not alot has changed.

  • @tkd14wilson

Our club does not stamp, those stomps while moving left to right are front rising kicks, thats the way we do it anyway.

  • @Ferrato94 fair enough, each to his/her own, i just go by the standards set by the ITF, founders of the Ch'ang Hon patterns created by General Choi Hong Hi and his pioneer ITF instructors/masters. his Taekwon-Do Encyclopedia lists the moves as stamps.

to put an theory to it, if you kick at a person using front rising or front kick (using the full length of your leg), why land in W-Shape block (blocking with both arms bend). your arms would never reach the person you've just striked.....

  • @tkd14wilson I think we do it more as a thing to make it look good rather than anything else because in all honesty half the things we learn in patterns we'll never actually use out on the street, you and i both know that.

  • What is one of the applications for the move at 0:20 where the arms are at right angles?

  • you guys are critical of everyone. i thought this was the best tkd pattern ive seen on youtube. im gonna creep out your pages to see if you do any better.

  • The backfist is supposed to be angled, not straight.

  • @GinjaNinja1994

    Back fists are straight:

Side back strike with back fist: Straight.

Side strike with back fist: In angle

Ul-Ji is the only pattern where both techniques are included in the pattern (#9 & #25).

  • damn.........i just double promoted from green belt blue stripe to blue belt red stripe this pattern is going to be so much harder than yul gok...

  • @huntac13 Don't you do Joong Gun, 'cause I found that much harder. This was a breeze to learn, one of the easiest so far, as I think it's pretty repetitive.

  • @GinjaNinja1994

    my instructor says the same

    REPETITIVE

  • 0:20 0:24 se ve ridiculo

  • I think the speed of the pattern is a little too fast. Also in the W shaped blocks the encyclopedia says to only lift your foot enough to propel yourself around. He is lifting them waist high. Also on the knee is comes very close to touching his hands to it. Since you can't knee through someones head they should end further apart.

  • You must be joking?
