  • They had some cool ideas in those days. Imagine, if they had today's technology to make a production. If you did make a longer-shorter teaser/trailer clip, or even voiced over this one with some simulated tower communication & sound effects, my heart would be a fireball.

  • oh yes - fireball XL5 - bring it on... have you seen the new captain scarlet and the mysterons yet? Its on youtube - Hey wheres supercar loved that - XL5 defintely a favourite - nice job...

  • Do the opening.

  • best Bryce animation I've seen so far. Needs sound.

  • To short! Make it longer, and add the closing theme song, and this will be oh so sweet !Better, go for a full film!

  • Did you use the lattice for the rockets?

  • VERY NICE INDEED.

You might want to check out these cartoon vids.

  • awesome. i like how the secondary rockets are chromed.

  • Nice!!!

  • Great Video, well done, I made on similar only mine had Thunderbird 2.

    I'm subscribing now!

  • If they can make a THUNDERBIRDS MOVIE.... Why not one for FIREBALL X-L5?

  • Good work, i remember watching F-XL5 as a kid! Your video would be fantastic with some music behind it...

  • Get the theme and you will have a great work of art.

  • I had a Bryce4 program but could never get the hang of it. I mean I could do landscaping and some modles (I did the USS Enterprise both Consitution and Refit) but I could never do the animation. It was out of my leage. Still good work.

  • and less robotic movements ;)

  • Good work.

  • VERY NICE WORK.

  • Very nice Bryce work. Check out my Bryce Robby the Robot!

  • Nice model and your camera movements were very nice. I remember watching this show when I was a Kid.

    Great Video!

  • Add the Stereo cover of the Columbia single "FIREBALL XL-5" sung in 1963 by Don Spencer [featured on "FINAL FRONTIERS: Vol. 1" TVT 1950-2] or better, the 1997 electronic versions of "ZERO-G" or "FIREBALL" re-issued on "THE CULT FILES: RE-OPENED" [a 2 CD set from Silva Screen Records Ltd] and Zoom-Zoom ! My heart would be a fireball !!!

  • Love it!

  • this made me happy!!!

  • Nice work ... well done ... thanx

  • Very good ...

  • This is SUPER-WAY-COOL. The potential here is great! As you know, with all of the recent effects "magic" from warp drive to inter-dimensional travel, its difficult to upgrade the old XL-5 and see where she fits. My guess is that you must try to give her a focus on speed in a different way. The addition of "shock or compression waves" in atomosphere, currently more and more common, and 1980's space warp effects would be cool.

  • Very well done!

  • Nicely done!

  • Yes, I agree - what we see here is impressive, it'd be a cool way to revamp a classic old series, give it a whole new dimension and spirit!!! I like it, it has potential, try doing more...get down to work bud, and yeah, Mr. Anderson would pay it some attention, I'm sure

  • thanks for the comments folks!

  • nice one ainzybaby!

  • Brill graphics, have you considered getting in touch with Gerry Anderson direct, to see what interest he has, after all if he can do it with Captain Scarlett, why not all his excellent series. Jon

  • This wouldn't do much good unfortunately, is Anderson doesn't own the rights to any of his series. Carlton (or is it just ITV these days) own the rights to all of Anderson's shows, so it'd be them you need to contact :)

Excellent work there on the vid, looks fantastic!

  • WOW! Really nice work. How about doing a complete episode of Fireball XL5 in CGI? I'd love to see Steve Zodiac and Venus on their Jetmobiles in fully-rendered glorious colour. Many thanks for sharing your video. Duncan.

  • Thanks for comment Duncan - I`d love to do a full episode, but that little segment took over 12 hours to render. Plus I dont have 3d models of jetbikes etc.

Maybe oneday a major studio will do for fireball xl5, what they did for thunderbirds...

  • I have a full-size replica Jetmobile that I scratch-built for my Steve Zodiac replica puppet - you can see it in a couple of the videos that I have posted. As for a major studio doing for Fireball XL5 what they did for Thunderbirds - NO THANKS! I love those old puppet shows, and although the live-action Thunderbirds film wasn't entirely without merit it certainly wasn't a patch on the original.

  • Your replica puppets are outstanding!!

Could you possibly film Phones from Stingray in a bit more detail?

  • No problem, I'll get on it right away. Glad you like the puppets. I have several more waiting to be made, but it is a long process, especially as I like to make a prop for each one, and that requires scratch-building. Troy Tempest will be next - I plan to make him a Monocopter.
