@Floodbane, I agree with you. Part of it is just the personalities of both Jemaine and Bret come out, both in music and stage banter, in their live sessions. The music is also a lot more folksy given it is produced primarily by the two just with their stage instruments (Guitars and occasional Casio DG-20) as opposed to the mixing and sound effects of their self-titled album.

But regardless, they are great musicians and performers. Especially their HBO special, but definitely see them live.

They are similar to Tenacious D. But I don't think either one of them has half as good of a voice as Jack Black and I don't think either one of them can play the guitar as well as Kyle Gass. But they are still a very good band haha.

It may be very popular with the Yanks, but so was George Bush, you see where I'm going? Check out Rodney Rude or Kevin Bloody Wilson, they do it a lot better then Tenacious D and have both been doing it for about 30 years longer

Flight of The Concords are by far a better duo then Tenacious D, simply because they are original.
