  • Thank you so much for offering this informative videos! I'm very much interested in learning what is referred to as the "standard form of Hakka"? Thats Mexian right? Is that what you are speaking? Where are you living that gives you the oppertunity to use Hakka all the time? Thats awesome! ;)

  • where is your glasses? you have a nice sun tan!

  • @shannan2000 This video is from when I still had hair. Actually I speak Hakka with people outside every day and watch Hakka news and dramas on TV as well. I visit the Hakka cultural center about twice a week because I'm working on translating literature and usually have some questions. I'm also reading a novel in Hakka right now. Later this year I will take the Hakka proficiency exam to get licensed in the language (along with the Southern Min Proficiency exam).

  • how comes you are so into speaking hakka? Not many people speak that old china language! Most people speaks Cantonese and Mandarin! I remember when I first went to Hong Kong age 15 everyone was speaking Cantonese or Mandarin.. I had trouble understanding them, as I am british born chinese! I only know very little and basic. I cannot read or write chinese. am very English! lol Am nothing like you! But you seem your pretty good at this and like to teach!

  • no I speak hakka and write them in engish I write like that or read it? Because I was never taught how to read and write hakka!!!

  • @shannan2000 Do you want to learn how to read and write it? But I think your version is probably different that what we use here. I don't do Meixian Hakka, but I have good resources for it.

  • Your speaking Taiwanese hakka not Main China hakka!! Did you know Chinese people has 8-11 dialect?

  • Not bad.... You have a few words wrong!!!! How are you? is... Yee how ma? Not Yee ho mo! Good Morning is Dow Sin!! Not An Dor!! Have you eaten? Gee Mow Si dung see a? What you said Yee si bow ma means.. Are you full after eaten?? Haha Who taught you hakka? Your cute btw. xxx

  • @shannan2000 I'm sorry, but there is no "R" in Hakka, therefore "dor" is an impossible word. Okay I see you changed the "AU" rhyme to a "OW" which technically does not agree with IPA or Pinyin, at first I was reading your "OW" like English "oh" when I realized what you're doing. Actually the -au rhymes are more prevalent around the four counties area, but after migration to Taiwan, which is now the strongest Hakka area, -au rhymes all become -o, but this may be influence from Southern Min.

  • @Glossika Well that what my grand parents and parents speaks and they are from china. Am british born Chinese. Gnee mow Gnee peng youa? Gnee mow giff fun? lol xxx

  • @shannan2000 我還是看唔得你個寫法,客家話無這兜個聲音。你知無我最近也適電視上講客家話,撿採我成時講唔著啊是你聽唔識那我可能是因為你是英國人也無核適全佇咧講客家話個位所,撿採你無中意也做得毋使看正著。

  • @Glossika can you reply back in written english please! lol I can only speak it and cant read it lol,,,,,

  • @shannan2000 但系你僗𠊎講吾客家話有問題,故所無相干恩里用客家話。反正𠊎僗你共樣用客家話寫,漢字加標準發音都有。萬一看唔識就看發音就好。

  • @Glossika

Can you translate what you wrote in English please! I cant read it!

  • @shannan2000 1: "I still can't read-understand you wrote, Hakka doesn't have these sounds. You know recently I was on TV speaking Hakka. Sometimes if you misunderstand is because you're English and don't live in a Hakka speaking area"

2: "But you told me my Hakka had problems, so it's okay we can use Hakka to discuss, I wrote Hakka just like you did, in character and standard pronunciation. In case you can't read the characters you can read the pronunciation"

Video's old, now I'm more confident

  • @shannan2000 But if you write in Hakka, then please use a tongyong or pinyin-based spelling so I can read what you're writing, otherwise use characters. The spelling you used is messed up.

但系撿採你寫客家話,請用通用啊系拼音恁迎𠊎正有辦法看識。你個拼法都搣亂。Tānhē giàmcài ň xià hàkgáfā, qiàng yūng túngyūng āhē pínyím ànngiǒng ngǎi zāng yú pānfàp kōnsìt. Niá pínfàp dū mètlōn.
