@WisconsinEric I have yet tried it in extreme cold but I remember seeing a video on you tube of some arctic explorers using the Guide 10 in the cold without a problem.
I take along my little auto jump start battery. Much it is small and cheaper then the solar panels. It works great. I charge it up before I leave. I have a duel usb charger that goes in the 12 volt socket so I can charge 2 Items at once. most have USB hookup built in. I use it for my ereader and camera. Nice ideas here though.
As someone that does a lot of filming in wild locations, this equipment is worth a look. But as someone that dislikes the amount of tech carried into the wild, this equipment worries me.

Does the Guide 10 solar charger work well(or at all) in the cold? If it does I think thats the kit for me.
