And @Sirloki dude, Metallica had 10 years of top quality metal that was highly influencial to every metal band that came after them and Pantera had 5 good albums in them, the glam/power era is shit.
Metallica might be an old and tired band now but Pantera wouldn't be able to touch them back in the prime. Anselmo is an awesome vocalist ( better than Hetfield) and a frontman but Hetfield was even better. If you watch Seattle 89, he was awesome. Metallica in their prime were the best metal band. Overall Slayer is my favourite band, because they made more great albums, Pantera isn't far behind on my all time list but they haven't made any really classic albums or too many songs.

@Chilling10680 Slayer's more of an acquired taste and definitely not for people who listen to metal for vocals. Angel of Death has one really nice riff in it, but i see your point. The drummer, Dave Lombardo, is the only one in the band who actually bothered to learn his instrument, the rest just write things they think sound cool (and don't get me wrong, if you listen to certain songs there are some really good riffs). Now i'm probably going to get flamed by slayer fans.

If you know anything about vocals, you could tell that he is hitting the notes perfectly, just deeper and with an angry feel. And if you can't manage to get past the harshness of his voice, check out cemetery gates by pantera, he shows a lighter side. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, but i don't like seeing one of the best metal vocalists around getting trashed by someone who doesn't have a clue about singing

@Chilling10680 Slayer's more of an acquired taste and definitely not for people who listen to metal for vocals. Angel of Death has one really nice riff in it, but i see your point. The drummer, Dave Lombardo, is the only one in the band who actually bothered to learn his instrument, the rest just write things they think sound cool (and don't get me wrong, if you listen to certain songs there are some really good riffs). Now i'm probably going to get flamed by slayer fans.
