  • what is single fry and what is double fry?

  • @PromptChat Single fry mean to just deep fry them in the oil one time. And then double fry means to fry them once - take them out of the oil for a bit, and then fry them a second time :)

  • can i use the regular garlic if i don't have the garlic powder? thanks!

  • @MaiLen15 To use fresh garlic you would need to mince about 3 cloves and put it in the marinade. Then let it marinate for 2 hrs instead of 30 min. And for the coating you would need to use 1 tsp of salt instead of garlic salt :)

  • I made these for Superbowl Sunday. They were a hit with everybody. Really crispy like my family like their wings. And very flavorful. Thanks for such a great recipe.

  • @sacmom3 Thank you so much for trying these and commenting - I really appreciate it :)

  • Hey! Sry what's garlic salt?

  • @balonglongllama Garlic salt is a mix of garlic powder and salt :)

  • Do we put the fire on medium high or high?

  • @Fablehavenmovie The fire should be on high and the temp of the oil should be between 350F and 375F :)

  • @Fablehavenmovie on high but let them cook for ten min then turn continues for hour to get great result

  • Do you have to use garlic salt? Can I use garlic powder for a substitute?

  • @Fablehavenmovie Yes you can use garlic powder in place of the garlic salt :)

  • i have all the ingredients to make these recipe except i don't have peanut oil. can i use canola oil instead? thanks and more power to you!

  • @agile0612 Yes you can use canola oil instead. Thank you so much for watching and trying this :)

  • made this in my food tech class, got an A all my family and friends loved it thanks

  • @whosu1 MORE GARLIC...????

  • @sassee1 i did add more but it didn't have a real good garlic taste

  • wingtips can also be made into a chinese snack with the soya sauce or the cola recipe. its great!

  • I love nibbling on fried chicken wing tips!

  • Do we have to add ginger to the marination? And do we have to add red pepper for the coating?

  • You made that look soooo bomb!!!

  • Plz dear , can we replace the genger ? and by what , thanks

  • @Bisoume Hi- for this recipe you can simply leave out the ginger :)

  • Cooked it, ate it, LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you a cook ? :)

  • Thanks so much for describing how to double cook the chicken...I cannot wait to do it that way...and where to buy the Mae Ploy sauce... :)))

  • How do you double fry the chicken wings, just an extra 2-3 minutes of frying longer? Or we dip it into batter again and fry twice? and can you mention the chile dipping sauce recipe here? Thanks :)

  • @MYHOLLANDGIRL To double fry the wings first fry all of the wings for about 5 minutes in batches and place them on a paper towel when done. Then once they are all cooked once, fry them again for another 2 to 3 minutes. There is no need to dip them in the batter again, just place them in the hot oil again. And the sweet chili sauce that I use to serve them can be purchased in most Asian grocery stores. I use the Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce :)

  • I have used This Recipe in the same way on Drumsticks It Came out well Also!! As one of your fans I Thank you for this awesome recipe!

  • @OGICHI21 Thank you so much for posting this :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I did something a little different I pierced the drumsticks with a fork so they would marinate faster

  • @OGICHI21 Great idea! - thank you for sharing :)

  • @gebauer1 You could use small chicken breasts, though the cooking time will be longer. Also, instead of leaving them in the coating mix, just dredge them in the coating and then place them on a plate to be fried. Thank you so much for watching :)

  • Nice kitchen Lila! and I can't wait to use this recipe. Thank you :)

  • @Najah971 Thank you very much - I hope you enjoy it :)

  • can you make regular chicken with this recipe rather than wings?

  • @StrictlyReggae Yes, this would work for regular skin on pieces of chicken as well - though the cooking time may be a bit longer :)

  • I love your show. Thank you so much for showing us. I made the chicken today. It was delicious! Can you show us how to make chinese cullers? I think. It call: You Tiao? or Hong Kong cullers? I used to eat that in the morning with coffee and love it. I moved away overseas cannot find it where I live. Thank you again..:-)

  • @aree3517 I actually have the youtiao on my request list and I hope to get to it soon - thank you so much for the comment and trying the recipe :)

  • This looks good! I think I'm going to cook these tonight!

  • @Shannon920 Thank you - I hope you enjoy them :)

  • are you married?

  • @un4tun8prez Yes :)

  • @un4tun8prez LOL

  • My husband saw your video, and begged me to make these today. Haha!

  • great vid, but if you use a drying rack instead of paper towels then it stays crispier

  • these wings were the fucking shit maaynnn

  • Thats look very delicious! :)

  • hi lila hun. just wanted to say that you do an awesome job on your tutorials on chinese cooking and i admire every recipe that you have done. keep up the great work. im also a home cook and take great pride and joy in my cooking.

  • @pinkpastelhearts Thank you for this comment - I appreciate it :)

  • You have anything on vegetable lo mein.

  • @cjdlos Yes I have a vegetable lo mein recipe posted here youtube(dot)com/watch?v=qzyFZIuTmkw

  • Hey i was wondering, why do you add the egg to it? :o and also, if i dont have peanut oil the n ican use vegetable or canola oil right? :|

  • looks great! I've been looking for a good wing recipe. I have that EXACT same knife btw.

  • Hi Laila, how are you? If i want to use a whole chicken cut up into pieces instead of wings, do you think 1 whole chicken is suffice or will i need more than one for this recipe? Thank you.

  • @BubbaJohnIsKing Hi - here I used about 3 to 4 lbs of meat. So one whole chicken weighing about the same amount should be perfect for this recipe :)

  • afer doing a couple of lelas recipes and them turning out nice i intend to stick with her for a few more recipes

  • thx :)

i cooked this but i added salt to made it more tasty.

  • Thank you for a great video. I have 2 questions:

    1. I enjoyed another video of yours called "How to Make Chinese Chicken Wings." In that video, I think your cooking time is 15 min, but it's only 5 min here. Is there a reason for the difference?

    2. You talk about "double fying." The way it's described, I'm thinkin you remove the wings and let them cool a bit and then fry a 2nd time. But does that produce a better result than simply frying for 2-3 minutes longer the first time?

    Thx again!

  • @tbsovni The crispy garlic wings are fried 2 times and cook through. This double frying does produce a crispier crust than just letting them cook longer :)

  • I made this tonight and my family loved it :)

  • 5 stars!!

    K.

  • you are really pretty..from looking at you and seeing your grandmother in a previous video i say you are mixed with asian chinese or japanese perhaps and caucasion..and your food looks delicious i really need to start making these recipies..:)

  • Nice kitchen....i live in a studio and have only a George Foreman grill, I envy you so much. I'm already 40 yrs old so most likely I will never have a kitchen as nice as yours.

  • I want your kitchen! oh and the wings look good too :)

  • You can reheat these and get the crispiness like the original with the magic crisp

  • Would the marinade not work as a binding agent? Or must you use the egg?

  • @cmomofilm The egg makes the coating a bit denser. You could use just the marinade, but it would have a lighter texture :)

  • Looks interesting, but what would be wrong with using fresh garlic, rather than garlic salt? It has a much better flavour.

  • @expatbritingermany You can always use fresh in place of dried spices (of course varying the amount since some fresh are stronger than the dried.) I often use dried simply to save time :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Garlic salt? Wouldn't garlic powder reduce some of the sodium content? The soy sauce has plenty of salt, just curious, are the wings a little on the salty side?

  • i can't believe you discard the wingtips. They don't have much meat but they are crispy and it's just lovely to suck on them. :( Other than that, the recipe looks good.

  • ya un keeping that wingtip on i love that

  • 1:05 unpleasant sound =S ahhh!

  • Why would you discard the wingtip? It is one of the best parts of the chicken.

  • i tried this recipe last week, its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks

  • she is beautiful ^-^

  • Hi,i cant find corn starch any where what can i use in stead?

  • @leaheloisa Hi, I know that in the UK cornstarch and cornflour are the same, but not here in the US. YOu could also use arrowroot as well :)

  • @leaheloisa you can find it at walmart, the great value brand, it where the oatmeal is

  • @leaheloisa you can find it at walmart, the great value brand, it where the oatmeal is

  • good but too resonant voice

  • oh my god this looks fantasiable!!!

  • just 5 minutes? will they be cooked all the way?

  • @faidley79 They are fried 2 times to give them an extra crispy texture :)

  • I love Garlicccccc Chicken.... Can u make Spicyyy Garlic Chicken

  • @AliveOutofcontrol I will put that on my request list :)

  • im allergic to peanut oil

  • You can use regular vegetable oil instead :)

  • Wonderful! Thankyou for sharing

  • great recipe...thanks we love it.....we just go ahead and make it each week.....thanks a million your great.

  • these are my kids favorite, thanks for sharing..

  • you should have mix it around with a 5 tablespoon of salt first then wash it to get rid of fishy smell

  • wing tip can be a very tasty treat fried and dipped with sauce

  • The wingtips can be simmered for stock. No need to discard them.

    Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

  • keep up good work. thk u for dis video and make it easy to read recipe.

  • nice, thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks and thanks for watching - you've got some great vids as well :)

  • thanks, very sweet of you!

I like the southern accent, I think the first video I saw you were maybe trying to hide it...??? and I was not being able to place it... anyways, its cute, you do a great job and I am looking forward to watching all your past videos!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. I normally boil them for our Dalmatians but now I'm gonna use them for us with your recipe!

  • hi Lila, what's diff. between single fried and double fried? thanks, great dish by the way...

  • Double frying makes the skin extra crispy and the meat a bit more meatier :)

  • looks really tasty, ill try making it myself ...thanks for the recipe!!

  • i know she does!!the food looks nice too ;P

  • Hi, do you have a recipe for the sweet chilli sauce? Thanks, I like your recipe!

  • I actually don't have a recipe and usually just use a pre made sweet chilli sauce. I use either Maggies - which can be found in most local grocery stores, or Mae Ploy. Both of these are great :)

  • Melt orange marmalade with rice wine vinegar in a sauce pan. Add chopped serrano or other chile pepper or red pepper flakes. Cook for at least five minutes to let the flavors meld.

It may need some salt or soy sauce. Minced garlic or ginger are good for flavor.

  • Thank you so much for posting this :)

  • thanks!

  • thanks for the recipe!! i like the batter on these but don't use egg, just coat in starch and a tsp of flour for crunch..and if i don't just dip it in sweet chili sauce, i pour a honey soy/ginger gravy to coat it.

  • Those wing tips can be used for stock. You get enough of them you can make enough stock for 2 soups.

  • man looks yummy

  • i like kfc

  • 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 English, German, French, and Dutch :)

  • How can you be 1/2 Chinese 1/2 English but also German, French and Dutch?

  • lol

  • My father is Chinese and my mother (who passed) was a mixture of English, Irish, German, French and Dutch :)

  • thanks so much for the recipe! tried them twice, and my friends loved them. :) love your videos, very easy to follow. keep it up, and thanks again!

  • wow thats a good mix so where do you get the recipes from is it like a family recipe passed down this is really great that you would share it with us thanks a bunch

  • i ued this recipe and i merinaded my chicken over night and it was lacking flavor so i used manngchi sweet and cripsy chicken recipe for the sauce and boy did it come out great

  • Wonder why u'd wanna discard the wing tips...they are so crunchy and tasty when done! I always keep those whole whilde doing my wings.

  • i tried out the recipes it's soo damn nice. you really have talent :)

  • I tried your crispy garlic chicken wing recipe and it rocked!! I made a homeade honey garlic sauce to go with it and man! i may never buy store bought wings again. Thank you very much for sharing!

  • Thanks for this easy and awsome wing recipe :-)

I am doing this Friday !

  • these are so great! my family loved them.

  • This looks yummy. There are videos on techniques to eating these fast, fast, fast. Grab the wing at one end, push the meat down against the plate, and 'inhale' the bulb of chicken meat (not into you lungs, but swallow).

  • is that 5 minutes per side?

  • 5 minutes in total :)

  • The recipe looks great!! Cant wait to try it. The wings only need to be fried for 5 minutes? Is that enough time to cook the chicken through?

  • Yes it takes about 5 minutes as long as you only cook about 6 at a time. The more wings you plac ein the wok, the longer it will take :)

  • wow Now i want to go to chili's a hour away from me for teriaky Chicken (Sorry spelling not the best....)

  • thnx for dis gr8 recipe

  • That looks like (fast)food heaven wow'ie! :)

(and no typing effects on the text ;-)

Don't the wings need broiling or is the marinade enough since they're small enough?

  • did i say "broiling"...?

I mean brining of course :P

  • lol - I never brined them before- in my opinion I don't think they need it - but maybe I'll try this next time and see if there is a huge difference. Thanks for writing :)

  • Lia, 1st let me apologize for the rude comments from some people. 2nd, I wanted to tell you this is a wonderful recipe which my family will love as a snack in this upcoming foodball season!

  • Thank you for your wonderful comments - I really appreciate them :)

  • You CAN have long nails and Cook good food too :) You just need to wash your hands :)

  • WoW! that made me hungry!!

  • double the fry double the happiness!

  • what is double fried.... do you batter it twice...

  • Double fried just means that you fry it once, remove it and let it cool for a few minutes, and then place it in the oil again.

Thanks for watching and all your comments :)

  • Thank you so much.... I've been having so much fun cooking....

  • People need to be very careful the things they write and speak about others..... no weapon or words formed against me shall prosper.... be careful.... My master of the universe will see to it....

  • yummy yummy........

  • Yes, the wings cook faster when you cut them up. Nice Channel! Hope we can be friends.

  • Mmmmmm.. Yummy. The chiken wings look good also.

  • thanks for the recipe! they look so good and i love your kitchen!

  • since you are only letting it sit for half an hour i just have one minor suggestion that would allow more flavor into the wings. Since Soy sauce is only moderately acidic and acids are the major medium for driving flavor in to meats. You should add like a teaspoon or two of vinegar. Maybe rice vinegar or just plain white vinegar

  • can you use fresh ginger and garlic instead?

  • Yes, you can always use fresh instead of ground or powdered. I just use these a lot to make it more simple :)

  • Awesome, thanks!

  • That looks good ! :)

  • wow...it looks delicious. i just had Chinese food this evening.

anyway, thanks for making and uploading the vids. they're all good ^^

  • Comment removed

  • Only deep fry for 6 minutes?

  • Yes - if you only fry 6 wings at a time it takes about 5 to 6 minutes on high (350F) :)

  • ar~~~thanks, I will try.

Few days ago I made sweet and sour meatball following your recipe, it was a great success and my flatmates loved it very much.
