  • I kept expecting to see Slender Man.

  • @Supersukid

    Best. Comment. Ever.

  • i remember i was on the toilet once an the tornado siren went off (it wasnt a drill) an im like WTF!!!!!!!

  • algo de panico de se debe de sentir al ecuchar la alarma !!!

  • Sirens Are:

Maybe a Mobil Directo(East School Memphis)

2-3 P-15s (EMA Office Memhis Main Siren Heard)

    Thunderbolt 1000AT(Downtown Memphis)

1 ASC T-128 (After the P-15 Winds Down

Whelen 2800 (Replaced a Thunderbolt in Memphis Near Downtown Heard in Parts of Vid)

And Maybe 2 EOWS 612s from Arkansas At the End after the ASC T-128 winds down

  • @bulldozer950 The closest one in this video is the Biersach & Niedermayar outdoor warning siren on the roof of East High School

  • It Might be a P-15

  • @bulldozer950 2 P-15s and a Thunderbolt 1000T are mainly Heard

  • Sounds like the old Mobil-Directo siren on top of the school. It's an 8-port model.

  • Sounds almost like a bagpipe...

  • was that an alerter siren?

  • @minkyblack P-15 and Thunderbolt 1000T

  • i was there for this. I was at Rhodes at the time. I remember this...really creepy to here it again.

  • I wonder if the main siren you are hearing is the 8-port mobil-directo on the central high school because that is what it sounds like.

  • i think the siren heard is a ACA Banshe and a thunderbolt windown in the background

  • STL-10

  • I'am going to Memphis in July 2010 :D

  • @Thunderbolt1000T then tell me what kind of siren that was in this video

  • The siren is a ACA Howler with a Thunderbolt 1000T

  • To most that means hide in your basement, to us that means its time to go chaseing, grab the cameras, the video cams, and the chain saw, just in case we come upon some down trees, and having a lifted truck with an LS2 motor in it (405 hp) makes it good just in case we need to run fast, or make a quick get away"

  • sounded like an ASC T-128

  • wat kinda siren is THAT?

    LAWL,its da unknown siren...XD

  • Nice sounding siren. I like it.

  • when the sirens go off some people think it's safe now... ITS NOT!!!

  • It sounds like you have a single toned Penetrator siren near you and I also heard a Thunderbolt wind down.

  • We have whelens. Its a Whelen.

  • That can't be a Whelen. Listen to the wind down carefully.

  • Rageman1112. That aint no fucking whelen man lol. THey sound too deep.

  • the reason i love/hate twisters at nite is that u caint see'm unless the l;ightning or power flashes

  • I had a similar experience twice in one year when it comes to tornadoes. I live in Santa Maria, California and 2 EF0 tornadoes, one in January of 2009 and another in January of 2008, passed nearby the city. it is very unusual for even one EF0 tornado to come close to the city located 10 miles away from the ocean. I had purchased a NOAA weather radio and thanks to this device I was warned about the tornadoes and none of the tornadoes do any damage.

  • i remember the January 2008 tornado. The EAS interrupted ALL of our TV shows even the recorded ones on our DVR. itwas VERY freaky!

  • the EAS interrupted recorded shows in your DVR? I never heard of this before. it is both useful to know threatening weather is imminent but it is also intrusive.

  • its a sentry model siren

  • I hate tornados...maybe i should move outta Texas o_0

Nah.I loves Texas. But if i heard this id be FLIPPING THE FUCK OUT!

  • in 1999, I was in memphis for the night when a storm hit and spawned a tornado near germantown. I was shocked at the coverage on local tv- hardly any, and those that DID cover it were like "yeah, we got a tornado- better hide if you're east of memphis". I pray the coverage has gotten better since then!

  • (brendaandjenifer on goodsides account right now) me brenda: I am scared of tornados so much first it was spiders then thunderstorms now tornados now both of thunder and tornados

  • Tornados scare the shit outta me

I hate them so much, I dont cry causeim soooo scared that I cant

  • Cool the day after my b-day!

  • that siren sounds weird.

  • hey dat mi bday april 25 but mostly i dont like when there sirens go off at night it scared me and mi cuz

  • tornadoes scare the heck out of me

  • It's a good thing my city doesn't have that many tornado's.

  • k im gonna send stronger one to destroy america hehehe is it funny isn't it

  • Um.. no, no it isn't funny at all.

  • i fucking hate storms enyway i really fucking do i cry lol

  • i just heard a t-bolt wind down

  • tornado sirens woodnt scare me in the day as much as night

  • The video that's comming tommorow is about a 2t22 siren that sounds very malfuctioned and in poor condition. this footage was from the Documentry that KATV Channel 7 (ABC Affilate) in Little Rock, Arkansas did in 2005 called: 'StormAlert 7 2005'. Hope all of you can enjoy it (especailly to all my youtube freinds that are siren enthuasts like me).

  • Just hearing that sent chills down my spine.

  • specially at night!!!

  • memphis has t-135`s

  • In the background you can hear a Modulator

  • The worst is when lightning flashes and you see how dark and rolling the clouds are. Time to batten down the hatches.

  • To me it sounds like an 8/12 port 10HP ACA Allertor, but I really dont know for sure.

  • Well what ever it is, it sounds to me like it rotates.

  • Did Bush declared war on tornadoes ???

  • LMAO, this made my day.

  • That sound is crawling up and down my spine - have heard this way too often - been in five tornadoes - that sound has it's own built in chill factor!!!!!!!!!!!!

    *Storm* in Texas

  • one of the tornados was in my area yestaday

    i was scared as hell

    mane i hate tornados

    it killed like 45 people

  • Yep, Fucked Up Tha Hickory Ridge Mall And Everything

  • LOL... ew beeze soo edumacated! which school did you drop out of, Kirby Middle?

  • hey today 2/5/08 tornado went all over the shelby County/Memphis area that was huge....U see it i did it sucked

  • i remember that night..

  • now you remember this night?

  • I don't know what this kind of siren was, but it sounded a lot like an 8-port single toned Allertor or P-15.

  • Almost sounded like one of the first T-128s to me, but I'm not 100% sure.

  • Nope, Thunderbolt 1000.

  • at the very end of the video, is a T-135/P50

  • but yea that wasn't really nice, but was there a torndao in this and could somebody give me a site to like warn you and let you know when a torndao is present like a doppler site?

  • haha, wow that was a good one but affensive, lol

  • I live in Memphis next to fire and police stations and I hear them all day everyday. The 'truth' is not offensive.

  • i actually remember this night i was scared all night

  • those tornado sirens would drive insane

  • ooh...and at night too. would of scared me 3 times mroe than in the day time.

  • That would be so annoying if I was trying to sleep >.>

  • Y would you want to sleep during a tornado warning!

  • its not like you can do anything about it if ur awake lol. you just gotta get to a safer area of ur house and wait it out- asleep or awake

  • what if you were waiting in the basemant and you fell asleep

  • doubt you would fall asleep lol

  • he is right

  • its not funny when a tornado hits at night its scary as hell cause the sirens just give off that weird feeling and when theres hail and rain and stuff falling around you that doesent help either damnit!

  • We seriously need tornado sirens in Central Florida. We have a lot of tornadoes, problem is, they all come at night time. People normally don't listen to the TV or radio while they sleep.

  • haha thats pretty bad if they come at night

would be pretty nice to have some sirens there

  • I would love to see a tornado hit a dildo factory and watch those toys flying everywhere!

  • LOL!

  • lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • winston salem hardly ever has tornados...and i hope we never do

  • ah the sounds of early spring here in oklahoma.

  • They sound so errie after dark.

  • my grandma in south dakota lives basically within spitting distance of one..if youre a really good spitter (i.e. maybe 30 - 50 feet)

not fun when they used to go off EVERY DAY at noon!

  • In Columbus, OH, they test ours every Wednesday at 12, and it's sometimes SO ANNOYING!

  • In Schaumburg, where I live, all of the sirens are tested in the Village Region (that includes about five cities) at ten o'clock - the first Tuesday of every month.

  • I grew up two blocks away from one; they're so much more fun to hear on YouTube than in real life.

  • our went off at 3am once because of a tornado warning very close to us and no one in our family woke up. lol we slept right through a freaking tornado!!

  • thats why u need a weather radio....tornado sirens sole intent is to warn people outside, not inside....you just happen to hear them inside

  • No, the sirens are for anyone fortunate enough to hear it, be it inside or out.

  • The sirens went off here in forney texas , my brother , being a stupid head , went outside until they turned off =

  • what does it mean when it shuts off? No tornado?

  • No, when a siren sounds it means take shelter and tune to a weather radio station or turn on your tv and look for weather updates. Sirens can sound 15 minutes or more before a storm even hits to get a warning out. When there is a tornado warning they only usually sound for a few minutes.

  • get a noaa weather raido my favorit tool in weather..

  • Minnesota, the Sirens don't sound unless a warning is issued, in which your weather radio many times will actually go off first. Its all about Visual ID of a funnel or Tornado, or Doppler Radar detecting rotation

  • yeah i liv in memphis i remember that storm last year

those damn sirens always freak me out a couple o fyears ago they went off @ 1am. There was an actual tornado, though

  • people often get confused if its a drill or an alert. then people think when it wednesday and alert goes off and think its a drill

  • if this siren goes up and down it is more than likely a thunderbolt 1000. where I live we used to have one just like that. cool video. thanks.

  • from what i understand, the up and down means all clear and a solid tone is the alert mode telling you to get to shelter. but that could vary from place to place.

  • up and down, during the Cold War years meant "ATTACK IN PROGRESS"*bend your head down between your legs & KISS YER ASS GOODBYE* solid tone meant "TAKE SHELTER, attack could come at any moment"

  • lol

  • I heard at least one Thunderbolt in the video

  • i hate tornado sirens heard them a lot of times though

  • out here, we use the Tornado or Air Raid sirens to call the members of the Volunteer Fire Companies to the station for a call

  • That's got to be scary as hell.

  • it's like whenever teh sires go off, i get like really scared, but i get annoyed because of the sirens...idunno XD

  • Funny question, does anybody know where you can hear the different models of siren? I used to live in a small town in northeast Kansas and our siren's wailing pitch went up and down for tornadoes.

  • Just search up 'tornado siren' and you will be surprised.

  • im scared of tornado sirens, i never wanna be in a town that the tornado sirens start going off and on

  • Im soooo scared of those sirens...

  • In Ohio it does

  • I love this sound

  • I take an interest in alarming sirens, especially when its dark out, I'm not sure why. It just gives me a creepy, mysterious feeling that gets me excited. I can't explain it. Does anyone else get this type of feelng? Howabout when you read about strange, paranormal occurances at night time?

  • Yeah, I get the same feeling. Not when reading, though

  • was it a real tornado warning? or a test?

  • storm sirens go off normally whenever there is a severe storm, in some states.

  • they dont do tornado siren testing at night and when its lightening and stuff like that. That would cause panic and panic is never good. Most places I've been to do testing at noon and ONLY when the skies are clear and its sunny.

  • That's why I love NYC! :P Tornadoes only pop up here under extreme weather conditions. Harlem got a tornado watch once over the summer as well as Staten Island, and South Ozone Park in Queens so we're not completely immune to tornadoes.

  • I live in the country and never listen to the radio or watch TV. If a tomato ever comes I'm done for.

  • I love tomatoes!

  • I think I heard a Thunderbolt! :D They're my favorite.

  • man u guys r lucky we only have 1 tornado siren and when it goes off we cant here it so when a tornado hits were dead

  • I don't know if we even have a tornado siren in Winnipeg. I hope we do! We seem to be getting more twisters.

  • i remember one time in ohio.. in northeast ohio there was a tornado spotted in my town and the sirens went off. i was so scared cuz we dont originally get that many tornadoes but the tornado was only a little while away but we never got hit

  • no see they turn on and off because i remember that night because i lived in memphis.. it wasnt anything other than rotation and a little tiny funnel cloud.. it was really alot of lighting though

  • the ones we have here are worse, they have gone on for 20 minutes and they sound even more annoying, higher pitch and a grumble combined

  • That was crazy. I was in Manitwoc WI on the 1st of July 2006 at a bar and the Tornado sirens went off it was CREEPY but FUN the tornado hit just south of Manitwoc but there was 90mph winds and hail the size of quarters. OH I'm from Vermont we don't get storms like that EVER.

  • Yeah, but they put the same sirens on a lot of the firehouses in Vermont (and New Hampshire) to call the firefighters..

  • I live just North of the border in Quebec and lately their have been severe storm warnings for my area all the way down into New Hampshire and Vermont. This past monday we had 2 F1 tornadoes. Freaky...I could never live in Tornado Alley...People in Texas and all of those southern states are freakin brave.

  • In Mississippi, they just keep going and going.

  • They weren't as constant in Mississippi, were I grew up, but very similar.

  • Thanks to silent hill i'm not used to the sound anymore

  • they test ours in michigan 1st of every month at exactly 1pm

  • Your lucky. They test ours in Illinois the 1st teusday of every month at exactly 9am

  • that was kinda creepy!

  • I didn't know sirens lasted that long. Man better be a tornado coming or I would be pissed.

  • They go on until the tornado or funnel cloud goes away because if they turned them off and there was still a tornado, people could think that it is safe to go outside. I know. I live in Iowa.

  • WOW That was great. I remeber them in Illinois and they were real scarry! Just great!!! If you live on the west coast you never hear these!!!
