  • Can your distribator stop your car from cranking ? Somtimes my car will crank and somtimes it will'nt crank

  • @jawhon1 No. it might be time for a new or rebuild starter if it has over 100,000 mile of usage.

  • @SteveXnycperformance so that removed the snout as well? Its for my 96 Lt1 as well

  • well your crank shaft sensor stop your car from starting?

  • @jawhon1 Yes. the crankshaft sensor work in conjunction with the ignition system(spark-plug firing), and the camshaft sensor located inside the opti-spark distributor work in conjunction with the fuel injectors.

  • Dose the hub snout have to be lined up

  • @mizzjojo04 not really.

  • Thanks Steve for all your help I'll let you know how everything goes your awesome thanks again

  • Or should I say the book says I don't have a keyway

  • Mr.Steve I took off pullie should I leave the pullie on like in your video my does not have a keyway

  • "I took off pullie " "I leave the pullie on"..don`t make sense. was is press-on(required tool for removal) or was it held in place(slide-on) with just the center bolt?

You can remove the pulley(dampener) by removing the three bolts. It is easier to remove the crank snout hub without the pulley attach. The only reason the hub was remove with the pulley, was due to the length of the tool bolts(too long). The closer you can attach the tool to the hub,the better, safer, and less work is required.

  • How do remove the crank snout on a 94 Lt1 is it the same?????

  • @mizzjojo04 the 94 model might be a slip-on with a key-way on the crank snout.95 & 96 are press on with out a key-way,some will install a key in the 95-96 crank snout key slot.

  • I just took my LT1 97 Camaro to the shop to have my crank seal replaced and they charged me 280.00. They said it took them 2 hr to do this and you did it in 7min..wtf. I knew I should have done this my self. I don't care what you used to take this off. If anyone else can do better then post it or don't comment. Thank you Steve!

  • good info except the steel hammer.. it sounded horrible.. bad idea...

  • Ignore this clown calling himself techdavey1000...he speaks from where he sits...just another case of bad gas. PUTZ!!

  • Disgusting to be using a STEEL hammer, a copper "Thor" hammer or even a hide mallet would be preferable although if the pulley is scrap it won't matter. That pulley wasn't even tight, it was just a "transition fit", it was by no means a "ten ton fit". For tightly fitted pulleys small screw type pullers will often fail. In such a case the Sykes-Pickavant design with the 10 ton booster ram is the tool of choice. Another way is to use a slide hammer. Expensive when those damper pulleys break.

  • mine just comes on and off. no hammer no pulling.

  • What yrs is you car? 1995? Its believe only the 96&97 are press on style.

  • @bad4health the 96-97 crankshaft is a roll fillet journey.the roll fillet journey is a stronger crankshaft when it come to twisting (torque)force.

  • Thanks for the video...it helps a lot. Don't know why people are posting bad comments about the hammer. YOu hardly tapped it.

  • people don`t like work, must be a fear of POWER.

  • I LIKE YUOR HAMMER METHOD !GooD Remocal Job !!

  • haha yea dame you

  • It was already off when he pretended to turn the center screw. In reality, all you do is turn the crankshaft when the pully is full on and you try to turn the screw. I've had to devise my own methods to remove those.

  • NO HAMMER ...right....fucking boneeeeee heaaaaad

  • lol 87k5 is the only one who can spell lol

  • OMG So hilarious at :23 "you canot hammer it off". skip ahead to 6:18 and whats this!

  • u used nice method in remoce crankshaft dampner. But i remove it 1 by 1 and i made special tools to it. post more videos man.. :)

  • It's crank "damper" damn it!

  • Don`t you have better thing to frat about? dame it!
