i think being a shaman could be dangerous for the mind. i dont think its for the average person who may not have the proper psychological preperation to embark on such an arcane and complex path.

The purpose of a shaman in my eyes is to bridge the gap between our known world and all the hidden worlds beyond that of our mere physical observation.. But if one of these people are entrained by a culture to not see beyond the physical you could see where the insanity may come from.
I am glad to see this video, so maybe CC was not the real thing. I recommend learning about don miguel ruiz (4 agreements) instead of CC. But still want to learn a little more about CC before totally writing him off my "guru" list.

@harry911tk Yeah the title is the first thing you read isn't it? If the title is bad probably the rest won't be so great either. Just saying :) I'm Flemish and a lot of books that have been translated from English into Dutch still bear the original English title, because it's so hard to translate well without losing/altering the meaning. Now if they can't translate the title, what is the rest of the book going to be like? That's why I always read in the original language. Ok sorry for this :)

So, the "evidence" that Carlos Castaneda made the whole thing up is summarised as follows:
a) somebody else described the astral body as egg shaped with tendrils before CC, so clearly, Castaneda stole the idea from him, and
b) some guy's widow claimed she met CC and he wasn't "pure" enough to go on a peyote trip.
...and that concludes the evidence. Wow. Well, that's me convinced, then.
