It just hit me that that 'strangeness' must be the same feeling Japanese have towards dolphin, as they wonder why we consider dolphin as anything more than a big fish with a blowhole. It's hard to see how extremely evolved as intelligent mammals they are. They are not lesser beings than us, they just evolved within a liquid world that has no fire to forge tools, and no need for hands other than 'steerage.' Hope we don't disgrace visiting aliens as we do dolphin.
