I'm from Glasgow... but I have a very soft Scottish accent. Yours is broader than mine, which is weird since I live in a place that sports the broadest of Scottish accents... o.O

Anyway, because of my accent, people ask me if I'm Irish quite often because I soften my 'r' sounds. But my friends from overseas say my accent is very pronounced to their ears. So don't listen to them, Mr. Fox. ^^

I also teach my accent to my other voice actor friends. Have yet to have a complaint. ^^

Oh yes, one more thing and I'll stop ranting. Those who can't stand his face/accent/whatever, do go and try make your own videos. If you're funny enough, we might watch them. Because it's not just about the accent, as many of us have already pointed out in this thread. It's also down to personality, and Michael's is almost addictive. It's as simple as that. Wow.... I can relate. I have lived in the American South my whole life and I don't have the typical Southern accent. It's very, very subtle. Why? I don't know. My family has lived here for generations and I live in a country area. (I have cows for neighbors). When I tell people I have lived here my whole life they dont believe me because I dont have the accent! I think you accent is great and not that subtle at all. But Im only an American after all.. :D

Here in the USA there are so many different ways to speak American English that sometimes we have no idea what they are saying, even in the same state ;) My great great great great granparents came from Scotland, so when I hear you, I try to imagine the old folks speaking ;)

Way to go Michael! You make so many good points here... And to those in Scotland who do have a problem with this milder Scottish accent, as a Canadian trying to learn it, I find his accent easier to learn from. Perhaps others agree with me as well. But I would listen to other accents from other parts of Scotland also, so make a video if you like. What Michael does here is greatly appreciated by many all over the world.

I lived near Dunfermline, and my husband laughed because I could pronounce Dunfermline, pattiesMuir and "Och Aye the noo", but sounded Canadian on everything else. I am anxious to somehow make a vid to help some of my fellow Yanks understand stulff like chips vs cookies vs french fries. I'm from East Lothian and don't much of an accent. People round here are largely either English or Glaswegian (being a lot of Glasgow overflow). No idea what the local accent should sound like though. Always like listening to people with different Scottish accents, and the shared joke we all have when we put on a really strong accent because that's what people think we all sound like.
