You couldn't tell us please how long the battery lasts in video mode with constant use i.e recording max length possible (30 mins in Europe) videos one after another?
@mikigm89 P500 is cheaper but not as good picture quality as the canon,,, but still good for the price .. see if you can buy a used sx30, or a new one on special if they are still clearing them.... it has the same lens, not as hi res HD video but has 720HD which is all you need. I have the sx30 and i wouldn't upgrade to the sx40.
Bought one for video shooting, wanted to buy the Kodak z990 wich was out of stock for a while and ended up buying the SX40, i have to say, best buy ever
@burubura i has the chance to get the P500 too, wich was a little more expensive than the SX40, finally i picked the Canon because of the Digic5, i loved it
