  • Hmm. Can't read Tab but can read score, which is much easier.

    For me.

  • @MucusFelidae I have this piece scored as well as the tablature. If you send me an e-mail address I will send you a copy of the music.

  • It's a teacher ? Classic guitar with pick ? Just no comment.

  • Hello !

Could you tell me what was that song playing in the intro of your video ? My dad used to play it all the time, I'd like to learn it.

  • @TropicalTendencies Hey now, that is me playing the opening to "Asturias" by Andres Segovia. I have thought about putting a training video together for it. It is a great piece of music!

  • @Roy19511 Technically the piece is by Isaac Albeniz, but Andres Segovia plays is so well it might as well be his own :P

  • @radroach44 You are right, I stand corrected. I should have put "Asturias" by Issac Albeniz as performed by Andres Segovia. This song was originally written for piano in the Key of G minor and later transposed for guitar which is in the Key of E minor.

(Many have attributed the first transcription for guitar to Francisco Tarrega who put it in its most recognizable key, E minor, and subsequently made popular by Andres Segovia.)

    Roy

  • Thank you very much! Great lesson. Helped me a lot :) i have only one question. That is the name of the scale you use in this video? Thanks :)

  • @MrLayneCornell Hey I appreciate it, I'm glad you like my video. Overall this piece is in the key of D minor which is: D,E,F,G,A,Bb,C,D. But I actually use 2 different scales in the song.

On the opening riff I use the Phrygian-Dominant mode (Which can also be thought of as the 5th mode of the Harmonic-Minor Scale) in A which is: A,Bb,C#,D,E,F,G,A.

On the 2nd part of the song I use the Natural Minor scale in G which is: G,A,Bb,C,D,Eb,F,G.

  • @joseloaderboy1 I don't know what your skill level is but keep trying. Play it VERY slow until you get the hang of it and then start speeding it up.

Message me an e-mail address and I will send you a PDF of the tab and maybe that will help make the process easier. - Merry Christmas

  • i have learned this song and i would love to learn more songs like this !! thanks a lot ! but if u know some songs like this tell me(us) please. or maybe u know some names of songs i can google and get tabs.

  • @AraArtur This is an original song of mine, but if you are interested in artists that influenced me in this style of music I would have to say Andres Segovia, Paco de Lucia, & Yngwie Malmsteen (his early solo material). My favorite classical composers are Beethoven, Bach, and Paganini.

An album that really infuenced me early on was "Passion, Grace & Fire" (1983) by John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucía.

I'm a big fan of Michael Hedges and I like Rodrigo y Gabriela.

    Roy

  • do u have some more pieces like this ?????

  • @AraArtur Not yet, but I am working on a few ideas right now for my next video...

  • @Roy19511

do u know some chords such as b7? kina wired request but can u send me the name of a bunch of Spanish / sad minor chords u know? i would really appreciate it

  • @nick61729 I think an "Am" is a perfect chord but other chords would be: "Dmadd9/E" (Open 1st String, 6th fret 2nd String, 7th fret 3rd String, 7th fret 4th String & open 5th string). An "Fmaj7" (Don't use the 1st String, 1st fret 2nd String, 2nd fret 3rd String, 2nd fret 4th String, Don't use 5th String, 1st fret 6th String). A "Cmaj13/E" (Open 1st String, Open 2nd String, 2nd fret 3rd String, 3rd fret 4th String, 3rd fret 5th String, Open 6th String). Hope this is the info you wanted.

  • Awesome!!!

  • What is the name of this spanish classical piece? Does anybody know?

  • @SouZiani This is an original composition of mine. When I play it out I call it "Spanish Classical Piece" sometimes I call it "Brianna's Sunrise" or "Jordan's Sunrise". I hope that you like it. - Roy

  • can i find the tab for this online?

  • @OnlineGuitarCraze - I don't have this tab online but if you send me an e-mail address through a message I will be happy to send you a PDF of it.

  • Just a doubt, isn't your version a little different than the real asturias? Im pretty sure he does play the 7th note on the 3rd Chord alternating fingers along with the 5th chord , and u seem to be playing the 5th only. Or maybe im just hearing badly

  • @2ObelisK2 I'm not sure which version of Asturias that you are referring to, (since it was actually transposed from piano to the guitar). The version that I play is of Andres Segovia playing it, you can find 2 of his versions on youtube that I referred to when figuring out the piece.

I have heard some people like Ana Vidovic play it faster than he did but I think it sounds better when it is played slower with passion and not played like it's a race to get to the end.

  • wats the name of the song u have going at the start of the video

    ??

  • @LedZepplin3853 That's me playing the opening to "Asturias" by Andres Segovia.

  • @Roy19511 thank you so much ive been wanting to know that forever :)

  • I'm trying to learn this classical piece! Just want to say thank you so much for this video. The Tab system is very understanding and the way you explain your techniques is very clear and understanding!!!! That program is awsome and gives me a clear idea of the concepts of learning the guitar. I'm a begginger. The pace of the song is Key to wanting to learn this classic and also the timing, play them smooth and even. All this info is what you have suggested and it works. Thanks man

  • @AZERILA24 Thanks for your comment, when I saw that software it gave me the idea to make this video. I’ve thought about making another one and showing diminished scale licks, exotic scales, etc…

If you stay focused and keep practicing on the guitar, you can get to where you can play almost anything that you want. Rock On!

  • Thanks for sharing.Mario-Lima-Perú.

  • @AVIRUKA I am glad that you liked it please share it.
