another thing is that this is a great idea for Sonic 4 episode 3 (if there will be one) and yeah in sonic 2 they did cut out all those other levels. well it was a good idea to cut those levels out of the game because the game was long anyway and another thing is that in the sound test options or level select number 10 plays the hidden palace zone music. :)

@63demonicmonster63 I agree that it should just be Sonic and Tails as playable characters because having Knuckles come in on Episode 2 just wouldn't make alot of sense to the older fans of Sonic such as myself. They SHOULD make an Episode 3 and Knuckles should be on it, THAT'S for sure. And they should also make a side game that tributes Sonic CD for the SEGA CD. Now THAT would be awesome.

*sigh* If sega forgot that there was classic Knuckles and classic Amy, and hadnt put em in generations, I think there is no hope of seeing Knuckles as one of the main characters. Or at least as not a stupid goon. Seriously, I guess I hate Sega from now on.

@Brandonfmk UPDATE: The release date was spotted on Xbox Live as well shortly before it was removed along with the screenshots (which were re-uploaded later on). If the date is correct, we should be seeing this game as early as May 16th.

Well, if they make episode 4, they would include Shadow. And episode 3 Knuckles. On the sonic wiki, it says Knuckles is confirmed to be in Episode 2, though.

guys its like this on episode one it was sonic 1 on episode 2 its going to be sonic 2 episode 3 is going to be sonic 3 or sonic 3 and knuckles if episode 4 isnt sonic and knuckles

Should be 5 episodes. 2: metal sonic + tails. 3: Knuckles (enemy.) 4: knuckles (teammate.) 5: shadow (enemy then unlockable character at end.)
