It basically depends where you are from. I am guessing your American so you would pronounce your letters in a phonetic way. However, if your not I do apologise. Just with some it is: on - ve - lope for envelope (as it is a French word). Also it is Caribbean like you said first not how they say it in the movie as that is a British word so the 'i' does not make a 'eye' sound like it does in American English.
