@RoundTheBendFilms YOU shot it with the CANON XH A1 right?, I have the other one, the XH A1s. Did you shot this on a HDV tape or with an SDHC Card and when I'm connecting the camera with the firewire on my computer ... nothing happens!! Can you HELP bro!
@johnfnicolas You can't record video to the SDHC card. It's not an AVCHD or digital format camera. It's HDV which means you have to record to HDV tape. Make sure the Signal STD is HD. Also, sometimes some old computers can't handle HD.
I have been trying to find a way to export anamorphic footage from Imovie 11. There is an option there under Share>Quicktime> and choose the custom image option. I was hoping you could help me or point me to something that would assist me. I think the dimensions for anamorphic is 1920 by 810. I use a hacked GH13 and the image looks stretched when it comes out of the camera. I should be able to squish it back to size when I export it. But every time it only crops.
@ThirgMeister Yeah in previous videos I would physically export 2.35:1 but I recently find it better to export 720p (Professional broadcast standard HD) but cover the footage with aspect bars from a PNG file. I'll make a video on it sometime later.
@nafees33 Its just the depth of field; usually this works best whilst recording with DSLR cameras since the lenses really emulate that "movie style" narrow depth of field look. Also if you really want to achieve a film look you should try playing around with the gamma curve. Good Luck!
@techit4692 first of all it's 2.35:1. 2.39 is a little more narrow. i don't know the actual pixels but type in 2.35 to 1 ration and put 1920 as 2.35 and you'll get the linear numbers you need. if that makes sense hah
@techit4692 by the way, just because you have 4k resolution, doesn't mean you'll have more quality. If you export SD footage as 4k then your image looks crap.

do you know the pixles for 2.39:1 for 1920 not 1280 or can it work because I want the most resolution I can get :)

how do u use letter box in imovie?
Oneshotbkreppa 1 year ago
@Oneshotbkreppa "there's pretty much two ways.
one is to just export it in 2.35:1 or a more controlled way of just dragging in a photoshopped PNG of 2.35:1 bars."
as previously said

so how do you get it to focus on one thing at a time?? is it something you put on your lens or something you can do on the computer??
MrBerkalert 1 year ago
@MrBerkalert it's a camera trick. it's easier with HDSLR cameras but for camcorders its harder.
RoundTheBendFilms 1 year ago
@RoundTheBendFilms ooooh ok then, but does it have to do with zooming?
or is it just the camera

@princeahmed56 basically I just play around with white balance. If you want to blow highlights choose "Glow" from effects.
