  • @RoundTheBendFilms YOU shot it with the CANON XH A1 right?, I have the other one, the XH A1s. Did you shot this on a HDV tape or with an SDHC Card and when I'm connecting the camera with the firewire on my computer ... nothing happens!! Can you HELP bro!

  • @johnfnicolas You can't record video to the SDHC card. It's not an AVCHD or digital format camera. It's HDV which means you have to record to HDV tape. Make sure the Signal STD is HD. Also, sometimes some old computers can't handle HD.

  • Hey there:

I have been trying to find a way to export anamorphic footage from Imovie 11. There is an option there under Share>Quicktime> and choose the custom image option. I was hoping you could help me or point me to something that would assist me. I think the dimensions for anamorphic is 1920 by 810. I use a hacked GH13 and the image looks stretched when it comes out of the camera. I should be able to squish it back to size when I export it. But every time it only crops.

  • @ThirgMeister Yeah in previous videos I would physically export 2.35:1 but I recently find it better to export 720p (Professional broadcast standard HD) but cover the footage with aspect bars from a PNG file. I'll make a video on it sometime later.

  • how did u do the effect that makes the object in far more clear than the one closer ? fanx

  • @nafees33 camera tricks. i can't tell you, it's a secret(;

  • @nafees33 Its just the depth of field; usually this works best whilst recording with DSLR cameras since the lenses really emulate that "movie style" narrow depth of field look. Also if you really want to achieve a film look you should try playing around with the gamma curve. Good Luck!

  • @nafees33 manual focus;)

  • @mauriici0 did u do it imovie 9 ?

  • @nafees33 he focus on it, its called depth of field, or shallow focus.

  • do you know the pixles for 2.39:1 for 1920 not 1280 or can it work because I want the most resolution I can get :)

  • @techit4692 first of all it's 2.35:1. 2.39 is a little more narrow. i don't know the actual pixels but type in 2.35 to 1 ration and put 1920 as 2.35 and you'll get the linear numbers you need. if that makes sense hah

  • @techit4692 by the way, just because you have 4k resolution, doesn't mean you'll have more quality. If you export SD footage as 4k then your image looks crap.

  • how do u use letter box in imovie?

  • @Oneshotbkreppa "there's pretty much two ways.

one is to just export it in 2.35:1 or a more controlled way of just dragging in a photoshopped PNG of 2.35:1 bars."

    as previously said

  • how did you get a letter box effect if you used i movie ?

  • @NewEraTrackz there's pretty much two ways.

one is to just export it in 2.35:1 or a more controlled way of just dragging in a photoshopped PNG of 2.35:1 bars.

  • thx for the reply that was awesome for you to respond

  • @princeahmed56 no prob(:

  • so how do you get it to focus on one thing at a time?? is it something you put on your lens or something you can do on the computer??

  • @MrBerkalert it's a camera trick. it's easier with HDSLR cameras but for camcorders its harder.

  • @RoundTheBendFilms ooooh ok then, but does it have to do with zooming?

or is it just the camera

  • i really like this i wanna soot music videos for myself i wanna know how to get quality like this with the focus effect and stuff can yu help

  • i liked ur quality but i cant seem to get mine right can you tell me ur render settings>??

  • @alexparreiras i believed I just said export, 720p. i don't really remember, I use Premiere Pro now.

  • how u get this look im trying to shoot a film soon i jus got a mac so i never used it b4 but i want this look

  • @princeahmed56 basically I just play around with white balance. If you want to blow highlights choose "Glow" from effects.

  • Thanks for helping for the imovie 09 tip i got it fixed.

  • No problem man!

  • Good job!
