That is NOT what most 2-stroke SAAB 96s sounded like. They sounded more like "BRRRRRR-pop-pop-pop-ring-a-di­ng-ding" when running in the real world.

I had one, so I know. I loved that car and look to get another if the price is right and its cooling system is sound.

This is fantastic sound and it reminded me of all the rally car competition around Sweden in 1960-70. This was normal experience at that time. This car needed to drive like this to get result in the competition. Dermined and cruel driving as you see. Yes a little strong mouse!!!

I remember these cars from childhood in early 60's, they were first cars to make an impression, competed in the Monte Carlo Rally, no one could understand how these low powered cars could beat all others, the magic was of course Swedish drivers and they're new left foot braking technique, this was because their right foot was welded to the throttle pedal hard on the floor all the time, and never lifted off from the start to finish.

It was definitely not a 95. The 95 was the station wagon version, the 96 was the coupe. 95s and 96s had 2-strokes up to 1967, then they switched to the V4.

The early 95/96 Saabs as well as the 93's only came as a 2-stroke. they were 3-cylinder, not 2 and were either 750 or 850cc.

Early cars did not have oil injection but by 1966, I believe it was, they has an oil tank under the hood instead of having to mix the gas and oil in the tank.

There isn't even a model named 94. The 92 had 2 cyl 2-stroke, the 93 had a 3 cyl 2-stroke. Early 96 models. had 3 cyl 2-stroke engines. I'm not sure if the 95 ever had a 2-stroke though.
