I really like all of your fly tying videos. But I have a question about the hooks you use. I notice you use a larger gap hook. On the smaller hooks it looks like the shank is maybe a 18 but the gap is a 16 or 14. Where do you get these hooks. I'm in the US.
Awesome tie, works great. I was wondering if you could tie some spinner patterns, I very much enjoy your tying and instructions. Its made my own tying much better. I cant thank you enough
The material I used on the body was dyed Turkey Biot, I bought mine here in Scotland but I'm sure you will find them on the net. The ones I use are by Wapsi and Orvis but there's a few other companies who have them.
@DavieMcPhail I'm sorry so many of my American countrymen have a hard time understanding you. I have them at a disadvantage, as I can hear you clear as a bell. Must be the Scottish blood in me.
I find it hard to understand myself sometimes..I'm glad you like this small emeger it's a great pattern and has caught me a few fish that were stubborn to take anything else..
There's a few that I could mention but here are some that I know well, Dyan-King which comes in a few style and has a great following, Regal with a side lever which I know many commercail tyers use, HMH is an excellent vice with a great following in America for many years and is great value for money and another the Norvice which you will find on YouTube again great value and beautifully made..There are many others but this should give you something to chew over..
Hi Davie,
Love your videos. In this emerger, would using the other side of the turkey biot feather be acceptable?
Thanks

Hi byhaugh1,
It's definitely worth using the other side of the Turkey biot instead of the way I did in the video as you know it makes for a beautiful body..

Hi Fallriverbum,
The hook I'm using is a Kamazan B160 which is a short shank wide gape, it's a very good allround hook for both dries and wets..
Glad that you enjoy the videos..

Hi Davie!
Just one quick question, what is it that you're using for the body, it was really hard to hear? Can it be bought online? Thanks!
