Why am I never able to find a creationist video that makes any sense? Why are all their arguments so easily refuted? Why does anyone believe what they say? I listen to those who explain evolution and they are articulate and intelligent. What they say makes tremendous sense, is logical and rational. Beyond that, the understanding we have of evolution is so amazing that it vastly outshines the fairy tale found in the bible. Why are people so wedded to ignorance? It is really tragic.
Because it helps them cope with death, and the fact that we are virtually nothing, in comparison to the universe. Our Solar System doesn't even come close to making up even 1% of the matter found in the universe, let alone each individual on our planet. In other words, it's because they're not ready to deal with just how much knowledge we can obtain yet. I'm sure that if we give it time, they'll see just how much sense talking to a burning shrubbery makes... I hope...

At the beginning of the industrial revolution much pollution was thrown into the atmosphere and the trees darkened. After that, the population of brown moths jumped and the white moths dropped. Then when pollution became controlled the trees reverted to their original white color and the effects of the dark trees inverted.

In his opening statement in that debate, Harris declared that Dr Craig is “the one Christian apologist who seems to have put the fear of God into many of my fellow atheists.” After that debate, the atheist website Debunking Christianity reported: “Bill (Craig) has once again showed himself as the best debater of this generation.” ROFL
I love this series of videos, but I must say I take umbrage with using an American Southern accent to read the ignorant creationist posts. Not everyone from the south is stupid and it kind of feels like you're implying they are.

@diegonikki I grew up in a baptist school I know exactly what you're talking about. They do everything they can to try to make you wear intellectual bible blinds while being taught any higher education. Of course they do, though, I mean you have to be really, REALLY willfully ignorant to somehow make it through college level biology courses and still reject evolution.

He has shown to be credible though, through fact checking on his videos. Still, I'm always cautious on who I take information from, since it is so easy to provide false information. ok i'm sick of this association of "christians think the earth is flat" nonsense. christians never thought it was flat and in fact in the book of Isaiah 40:22 it says "the circle of the earth." (no it doesn't say the earth is 2 dimentional but the hebrew didn't have words to distinguish 3 dimentional shapes from 2 dimentional shapes. english has a very wide vocabulary so it translated to circle.)

Homeschoolers are condemning their own children to isolation from mainstream human society. They will be less likely to be able to find reproductive partners because of this fact. Perhaps this is the first step towards sympatric speciation.
Its particularly tragic to see how young some of these creationists are. I have to assume its their parents. I used to live in a neighbourhood where a family had six children, one of the way, and homeschooled all of their children because they didn't want them to learn about evolution. My concern is how can children be properly educated that way? Its putting future learning and knowledge at a standstill. These lunatics must be stopped.

I grew up in the "bible belt" and many of my family members believe the earth is less than 10,000 yrs old. I went to a private school where evolution was scoffed at by my biology teacher and I had a class every year devoted to theology. In short, I had no education but I was a skeptic. Your videos have helped me tremendously. :)

ok i'm sick of this association of "christians think the earth is flat" nonsense. christians never thought it was flat and in fact in the book of Isaiah 40:22 it says "the circle of the earth." (no it doesn't say the earth is 2 dimentional but the hebrew didn't have words to distinguish 3 dimentional shapes from 2 dimentional shapes. english has a very wide vocabulary so it translated to circle.)

I've known many smart Xians but most of them accepted evolution because they weren't brats on the matter. But I've known far too many more Xians who treat science like Satan's attack machine and are suspicious of it or outright deny it, especially evolution. i meant to post something clever to illustrate that i'm with you all the way. however, i failed to come up with something sufficiently clever, and will simply state that i find your series to be be most insightful in the core problems a rational person faces when conversing with a creationist..... it can be daunting.
and though the subtle humor takes away most of the sting they must feel, i suspect it's not enough. in my experience, those closed to reason hates being laughed at most.

But you can prove that a certain mathematical model as well as a conceptual understanding of gravity are accurate to within a reasonable degree.
Math is a purely human construct, not an inherent quality of nature. We developed math and apply it to nature. We can prove things about our own constructs, but we can only prove reasonable accuracy of those contructs when applied to nature.

We in the Netherlands during Newyears Conferance had a comedian, Guido Weijers, that pointed out how people abuse the "freedom of speech" just so they can go "all is shit, all is shit all is shit" on the internet. Its particularly tragic to see how young some of these creationists are. I have to assume its their parents. I used to live in a neighbourhood where a family had six children, one of the way, and homeschooled all of their children because they didn't want them to learn about evolution. My concern is how can children be properly educated that way? Its putting future learning and knowledge at a standstill. These lunatics must be stopped.

I just want to thank you Thunderf00t for making such clear, concise videos which elaborately and painstakingly explain why creationist arguments do not have merit. I grew up in the "bible belt" and many of my family members believe the earth is less than 10,000 yrs old. I went to a private school where evolution was scoffed at by my biology teacher and I had a class every year devoted to theology. In short, I had no education but I was a skeptic. Your videos have helped me tremendously. :)
