well, many parts of Africa before European colonization, were ruled by feudal lords and Califatos, just like Europe in the 1200s. and those lords, owned everything, most people were as poor as they are now, just like in Europe 1500 years ago or so, a good thing, is that life expectancy increased in Africa with the arrival of Europeans, I mean, it's still the lowest life expectancy, but better than before, it was about 30 years, now it's about 50, whereas in europe is a bit less than 80.
