@Slingudwig Id be curious to know how they came to use this as the GTO tune. When they did the song SS 396 for the 67 Chevelle ss they wrote one from scratch which is also a fave tune of mine.
This looks like it was from "Happening", the Dick Clark show that followed the cancelled "Where the Action Is" (Which came on just before Dark Shadows, so I had a full afternoon after school every day!) Freddie Weller, Mike Smith and was that Keith Allison with Paul and Mark? I had forgotten he joined them for awhile. Wasn't Mark one of the best-looking men on the planet? Him and Nesmith in the same scene..love those dark tall lanky guys.
I've never seen this one yet. Such great times in the 60's...Love this..Again Mark is the doll baby of all these guys and I think he knew it. Thanks too for sharing this..What show was this from?
I love this! Davy AND Mark on the same video!!! Two of my favorite tee idol types. I love how they are all attacking Davy at the end and Mark is just watching like....haha. Dang they are both sooo adorable! I wish I could have been there.
lol dude u seem to have an axe to grind about the monkees
does it really matter all these years later??? i think its safe to say as far as the monkees r concerned at least ,that the line between fake and real r officially blurred ....after all the live shows theyve done since 86 ,and the few lps they did, theyre about as real as we could expect i would think.........headquarters, the 4th lp too--they hold up pretty well doing theyre own backing----
At this time, the group consisted of Paul and Mark, of course, with Freddy Weller ( Guitar ), Keith Allison ( Bass ), Joe Correro Jr. ( Percussions ).
This song, written by Mark and Keith, was off their Album " Hard ' n ' Heavy "( with marshmallow ), featuring singles......." Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon " and " Cinderella Sunshine ".
@1m2a3t4t5............... yes i did, and yes i do..was a teen in the 60`s when dick clark was still their manager and had them on his show every week before they got their own show thru him..he was forced to stop being their manager because of new payola laws...

Ironic video in a way.....real group being shoved aside by fake group.
And the battle rages on today.....the fake artists dominate "the charts" while the real groups are "indie".
