  • Hi i have a pay as you go phone that came with a sim card, the samsung hype actually. now my friend has an htc magic that he does not use anymore, so if i was to buy the magic off my friend, and pop in my pay as you go sim card into the magic would it work?

  • will it work on a phone that was once on a rogers network (I only want calling, texting and wifi)

  • yessss i hate rogers

  • so if i go to bestbuy right now and pick it up for 600$ and pop in my fido sim card (no data plan), and i turn off internet settings (so that it's wifi only), it will work just fine?

  • Yep. In fact you just would not enter the apn information and it would work just fine without a data plan.

  • @MooSE75er hi, if i was to pop in a sim card from a rogers phone, but the phone is pay as you go, would it still work with the HTC?

  • Is trackball blue?

  • can you type with the qwerty on landscape? the prototype was able to but the t mobile version was not. thanks

  • Yes, the qwerty works in landscape everywhere except the home screen

  • Just insert the Fido sim... Since Rogers owns Fido I guess they just allowed it to work... I am sure its no accident

  • thanks

  • no thats not the reason

HTC is knows to sell "unlocked" phones with carriers

any HTC rogers device will work on fido without unlock

  • i want it for fido, so how did u do it with no unlock

  • Where can one buy one of these unlocked phones? i saw them today in the store, and i loved the look, feel and overall impression of it.

I just don't know where i can buy one unlocked...

  • I bought mine outright at best buy for $600. As the video shows I just put the fido sim card in and it worked. Unlocking was not required. If you get it at best buy or future shop you can probably buy it outright and if it does not work with your fido sim, return it...

  • where can i get one of these phones unlocked? I've been looking, and can't seem to find them...

  • The main hardware difference between this phone and the Google HTC (I assume you mean the Ion) is this one runs on the 850/1900 3G frequencies. The Ion uses t-mobile's AWS band (1700). The software differences are fairly minor. This phone has built in exchange support as well as HTC's own on screen keyboard (which is really awesome actually) . This phone still has all the Google apps installed. Those are the main differences I believe.

  • nice video

i would like to know the difference between the rogers HTC and the Google HTC ?!

  • haha pretty cool
