Sue both the school for allowing it without the parents permission and the health department for giving the vaccination without the parents permission. I don't care if it was a mistake, admitting it was a mistake is not an excuse for what they did. This situation could have been avoided if the school and the health department just asked the kid his name and then checked to make sure.

I think these parents like many are just sheltering their child which in the long run will make him keep getting sick. Yeah, these mix ups will happen all across the country.  Public schools are government property and while your child is on government property your child becomes government property. If you know when they are vaccinating the kids, keep your children at home. I'd urge all parents to home school their kids until this H1N1 vaccine is pulled from the market. I personally would never want...nor would I agree...to having my child vaccinated without being present.....they should REQUIRE a parent or guardian to be present, then this would not happen. My children are older, but they know if anyone tries to vaccinate them at school to leave and come home....do not even ask...just leave....
