Ok,being a dick to the cops isn't going to accomplish anything. They have a sign up that says guns aren't allowed. Why can't they just abide by that? Carry your gun somewhere else.
@SkunkBud87 Because the sign is Illegal. And we carry everywhere we can that is LEGAL. Brush up on you local and state Gun Laws before commenting please
@detroitbiker The sign is illegal? There is nothing illegal abut setting rules in an establishment. Guess what, a police station isn't only a public service, but it's a business too. Look at it from a manager's point of view. I'm an assistant manager at my dad's restaurant. Sure, you have the right to open carry in public, but not in my restaurant you don't. Point is you may be allowed to carry, but as soon as you step foot into an establishment, you forfeit all rights.
@SkunkBud87 your wrong about the police station,it's NOT a private business,it;s a public building paid for with public TAX funds and a city or county cannot restrict or enact firearm laws that supersede State law. (second part you are correct)In a privately owned restaurant , the owner can set any rules he wants regarding firearms. If we are asked to leave your restaurant and refuse ,we would be trespassing and could be ticketed by police for it.
@detroitbiker Do you realize that he is just agonizing the cops? That's why it is wrong. And the fact that he is being a dick to the cops when they are telling him not to bring in a weapon. It's called disorderly conduct.
@SkunkBud87 Look, you obviously don't know to much about Michigan firearm laws.Im not saying this as a dig,Just telling ya you might want to look them up first before debating them. The Cops had no right to tell us not to be there with a firearm PERIOD.It's not Disorderly conduct. In fact, if we would have just stood there and refused to leave and said nothing, And they arrested us, We would have had a Civil Law suit against them and got PAID big time. We actually were nice and explained it to them
@detroitbiker You're totally missing my point dumbass. Do you know that Scott Webb (the guy giving the cop a hard time) is a psycho? Look him up on youtube
@SkunkBud87 I dont have to look him up,I know who he is, and He has never been a "psycho" around me. Actually he has always been calm, cool and collective. And he is very knowledgeable in Michigan firearm Laws. Not sure what your "point" is... you come on here ranting about things you know very little about, and then call the guy in the video names.. You lack credability now ..good day sir..Im done with you,go troll somewhere else please.
@detroitbiker It's not illegal for police to set rules in there departments. If they say no guns are allowed, no guns are allowed. If you walked in somebody's house and they asked you not to bring your gun but you do it anyway, then you are just stirring up trouble.
@SkunkBud87 Under the Michigan Premtion law MCL# 123.1102 they cannot restrict our rights. The only place we cannot carry is in the secure areas, like where the prisoners are etc..,but the lobby area they cannot tell us to leave.
If these 'good cops' spent half of their energy weeding out the bad cops, the PUBLIC TRUST would be in a lot better shape and citizens wouldnt feel the need to carry firearms to defend themselves from the criminal element or to assert their rights...
@1980PintoMan Their fragile egos can't handle someone other than members of their 'private fraternity' having some firepower of their own. It's a machismo thing, as well as an entitlement issue; it's so apparent by their body language/demeanor/tone of voice. They have become accustomed to an utter monopoly of CONTROL and don't want that monopoly usurped....
@1980PintoMan The cops have a sign up that says fire arms aren't allowed. Plain and simple. You may have the right to carry an open holstered pistol in public, but when you walk into a business or even a public building, those rights are forfeited. You may have the right to carry a gun, but not on my property you don't, just like how you don't have a right to carry it in a police station if a cop tells you not to do so.
@SkunkBud87 Once again, IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A LOCAL CITY OR COUNTY TO ENACT FIREARM LAWS OR ORDINANCES THAT SUPERSEAD STATE LAW.(Michagan Preemption law MCL 123.1102)
@bigdaddyitalia22 we were not there to promote gun rights, We were there with a friend that was inquiring about a purchase permit. when we were hassled. it just happened unexpectedly
@bigdaddyitalia22 restaurants and shopping malls are private property, therefor you have no gun rights unless the owners allow you to carry, which most don't. Public places are the only places you can truly promote gun rights.

The best way to fight is with information.
I LOVE the way the guy both cites the actual law, stays calm, and very evenly says "No thank you" when asked for his ID.
This is exactly what should be done when dealing with police.

COPS HATE WHEN WE FOLLOW ARE RIGHTS
jesus20248 8 months ago
@jesus20248 No they don't, they hate it when assholes like Scott Webb get in their face and flex muscle with their guns.
SkunkBud87 1 week ago
@SkunkBud87 maybe you didnt watch the video.. The deputy got in our face.
We "flexed" OUR RIGHTS. And in the end,The sheriff's deputies learned something that day. We were right and the sign came down.

But out of all the places to promote gun rights I think a police station is the least important place restorants shopping malls and what not
