Hey, Blue: Esai may have been starting to say "stymied", "stupefied" or "stolid."
The tired credo "we'll unify in 2 years" is as dependable as AFTRA, the DGA and IATSE were last year. What makes you think they'll have an epiphany in 2011 and band with SAG? There is no trust. Also, ask yourself why the AMPTP finally gave SAG term. Was it to support the notion of Union Solidarity? Or, could it be that they know it will mean nothing since they'll be picking us off one at a time as usual.

Esai Morales started to say "don't be stupid" but he stopped himself and said don't be swayed -- but he does think we're stupid. So Vote No people are smart and have integrity and want to feed their families, and Vote Yes people have been tricked and and are cowards and don't want to feed their families?? Who's doing the tricking here? This is not a perfect contract but there are gains in it and we will unify and get a better one in 2 years. WAKE UP. NO = STRIKE. VOTE YES.
There is no "2 years from now". We will have LESS leverage THEN because they will have stockpiled tons of material KNOWING we'll try to strike. They have nothing stockpiled now. And what you give up, YOU NEVER GET BACK. That's a historical fact with these negotiations. This contract is a DEATH SENTENCE for everyone below star level. Your future ends HERE if you don't vote NO. These people HATE DOING THIS VIDEO--BUT THEY DID IT TO TRY TO PROTECT US! VOTE NO FOR INTEGRITY, ETHICS & YOUR FUTURES!
LOL... or better yet, Tom Hanks' face on like a bimbo's body in a hot tub scene .... LOL .... or a gay love scene... LOL .... ha, ha, ha, that would be funny.
This contract is a DEATH SENTENCE for all of us below star level. We will NEVER get back what we give up now. It' PERMANENT. Some people are trying to confuse this whole situation with the economy & what's the plan & AFTRA poaching etc. THAT'S LATER. What's in front of you right now is yes or no to PROTECT YOUR FUTURE. You have NOTHING to LOSE by voting NO to protect yourself, and your entire FUTURE to gain. There is no '2 years from now' for us. This is it. Sign it away and your career is over.

You say we can do better than the current offer. But you can't prove that a better contract, which you're asking the membership to sacrifice for, would be used before AFTRA's less expensive deal.
The 'No' voters dwell on an area that makes up less than 1% of SAG earnings.
I believe you are fixating on small flaws at expense of a far greater danger of not having sync-ed negotiations in less than two years from now, mounting losses in the way wage increases and the looming economic realities.
Small flaw... giving producers the right to hire NON-union talent? Small flaw... thousands of actors, many with families and one I know with a child with autism, who have qualified for P&H in the past, won't be able to under this offer. How do these benefit SAG members? There is nothing anywhere to prevent the AMPTP from 'dividing & conquering' each individual union next time. There is NO precedent of the producers gaining a foothold on an issue and ever renegotiating it.
These acting talents are only asking for a better deal, and I agree with them; the talent must renegotiate for a better deal!
Thanks for posting!

Too late now - the short-sighted cowards have ruled the day. RIP SAG.

So say Fox comes up with a new reality show called "Who Wants to Portray a Really Rich Celebrity?"
The idea is to portray a big-time celebrity the best and win money, like American Idol, only you act.
Judges & home viewers watch the reality contestant renact film clips from movies and TV of let's say, Tom Hanks.
We then watch Tom Hanks' clips morphed with the reality contestant it's hilarious!
This show would never get made, A-listers protect their images so should we!

Except it doesn't work that way. It's clear you haven't read the contract. Those are prohibited uses. You're parroting untruths.

I have already voted, "No". As David P White, the National Exec Director of SAG said, "This deal SUCKS"
