  • i live on the Australian coast, and there's a surfboard in my garage that i've never used, maybe i should start haha.

  • @sacrament1124 I'll take it haha

  • I skate like all the time and have done for a year im pretty good on it and have good balance will this help me with surfing or not?

  • @aistonify yea it will probably help, but surfing is such a different feeling

  • Could anyone who knows enough about surfing answer this question for me:

how many would you out of 10 waves be able to catch in to the beach? And by doing so how many S turns would you incorporate?

    thanks guys!

  • @helloisitm it all depends on the surfer and the waves!

  • @helloisitm There are SO many factors affecting how many waves you catch, you can't even give an AVERAGE for that. Wave height, strength, length of board, fins, weather conditions, idiots in your way, etc.

  • i want to learn how to surf but i live in bc. and i'm 13. and i can't find ocean where there is waves for me to learn to surf in bc canada

  • @theBlue123498 try longboarding? Basically skateboarding but more like surfing. You are lucky to live in north america.. in europe the roads are jaggedy and its hard to skateboard...

  • Is surfing like wakeboarding becuase im ok at wakeboarding but i have not tryed surfing becuase i live in NORTH DAKOTA and their are NO OCEANS here!!! :(

  • I shred on a foamie....idk why im searching these video's lol, all i can say is keep your leash on and cover your head when you fall...KEPP TRYING TOO!

  • @skyeric875 lol shred on a foamie dats what baby kine kids ride down here brah

  • @FalconPawnchful naa....i use my foamie foe everything, i dont care if its knee high waves or head high...im taking it out or my bodyboard of choice...

  • @skyeric875 brah fuck yeah bodyboard is da best

  • @FalconPawnchful I went out today and all week is chest high clean... makes me smile :)

    once again many thanks ,

from me 5hrs from the coast , when i dream now i can smell the ocean ..

  • :52 whoah hello I've seen that kind of stradle at the strip club lol

  • U are a good teacher and good at explaining, even dumb people would be able to understand this!

  • good teacher.

  • To me, I can't really tell since I'm learning how to surf through these videos XD, but this seems very similar to snowboarding (Which I know how to do)

  • well really, you don't want lean back while your turning, Your going to create more drag that way. It's more like turning ur hips/shoulders in the direction you wanna turn.

  • this was just great ur a swell kid

  • Jesus, if you "put on the breaks" like this in a big wave your screwed, grand for that small surf though

  • haha

  • @Thenextweatherman haha well if ur watching a "how to" video for surfing, you really shouldnt be riding a big wave..

  • @xXxdaguitarfreakxXx well actually it does help to look at other people's styles to find out how you can improve your own, plus it's a good place to leave helpfull advice

  • This is a horrible turning tutorial..You dont lean back. You twist your shoulders, and move ur back foot the opposite direction you want to turn

  • for a short board, should i use two fins, one on each side, or one in the middle if i want to be able to turn on relatively small waves? (not sure if wave size makes a difference)

  • if you have the 2 side fins in, the board will be squirly and more difficult to control and balance. you will also slide out and shoot out frequently due to loss of balance. but for beginners, i would be careful and jut stick with a thruster. Hope this helps!

  • u should use thruster setup wich is for all shortboards man thats 3 fins

  • an easier way to slowdown is to put all your weight on your back foot. you'd lose the wave and stop moving

  • Sick, I tried it a few times and it helps...but when you have an 11 foot longboard...it doesn't turn, it LURCHES!

  • yeah, jumping off is much quicker, you dont have to think about it lol

  • but if you jump off, sure you're fine, but the other person in the water you were wanting to avoid may still get hit by your surfboard

  • apply the brakes? or you can just jump off

  • hes talking about if your headed for rocks or people. if you jump off you risk your board being hit by the rocks or the people

  • save yourself before your board. universal surfing rule

  • Quote: not as easy as it looks :( but thanks for the tips

    - It is easy
