"Sixense" made a unique praiseworthy invention, but "Razer" made a troublesome cheaply-built end product.
LT trigger is stuck!
I bought my Razer Hydra the day before yesterday and I don't recommend it for its faultiness. Too many people are complaining about many issues ranging from cursor "Jitter" to sticking triggers.
Jitter can be due to other electronic devices - producing electromagnetic field - placed too close to the base station or keeping the controllers far away from the base.

I think your all missing the point. If you watch the gameplay, the aiming is very smooth, even more so than a mouse, which isn't always steady since with lower DPI mice, the movement is staggered and with higher dpi mice (like my naga) the slightest movement will make my mouse move off course by half a screen width. With this controller it seems the most steady choice but I still have to personally use it to see if it's comfortable as well.
I don't know why all the negative feedback. This looks very interesting and seems like it could refresh some old games I've played through a billion times, e.g. L4D2... But there's no way I'm dropping $140 on this gadget without being able to try it out first.
mouse > controller. I play consoles but cant play a pc game using a console controller. you already have it on zee xbox. I won't trade it my naga epic edition for this ever!
Whats with all the negativity, the aiming is perfect and you can sit anywhere in you room gaming (if you have you PC hooked uo to a large TV, which I guess most of you don't have).
I think this is A. the best use of motion controls I have seen( you can actually play real games) and B. the closest thing to replacing my mouse as the ultimate aiming device(thumb sticks suck). That said I don't think its fast or accurate enough to replace the mouse of thumb sticks yet but I would have to see for myself. If you can use the thumb sticks for macro movement and the motion for aiming at things in front of you that might be cool.
I'd like to see this used for Dead Island. If any of you have seen gameplay, you know that you are gonna need precision swinging of weapons to take out specific zombie body parts and it seems like this would be perfect.
The fact that it is a motion controller does not mean that it is not accurate. The real problem when you want to make free moves in a game like an FPS (where accuracy is a main factor, for sure) is about choices that you must do between the camera's control and the character's control. Since you can't turn your back on your screen (or build a 360 degree stuff?), you have to make compromises. I like this thing, and I might get one. But I surely might search how to get the best compromise. The on
One of the things i love about PC games is the precision and feel of mouse controls... If i just wanted to play games to have fun with my friends (whilst i love having fun playing games) i would have just bought a cheapo xbox, not a gaming PC and tonnes of Razer gear.
Why would you make a gameplay video of L4D2 to advertise a controller and get hit by the boomer, by the jockey, by the hunter... Also, it seems like shooting and moving at the same time is not supported by the controller?
Really? A $140 controller? Really? Who the hell would buy that? You can buy the actual console this is copying for $140. It's so intuitive it removes the hands when holding an axe so you can chop more freely. It probably uses the same technology to wield the axe and to see where your controller is: magnetism. Simply brilliant.
@Umguerreirok I'm considering it too. I've always wanted a motion controller on my PC and for it to be compatible with most games and this one most definitely is. They claim 125 games will support the controller when it comes out, but still the price is insane.
@Kaossdemon Well I can find it reasonable. It's not like the PS3 move and the Wii, this is more Dynamic and Accurate while PS3 move and Wii you pretty much just point at it's sensor bar/camera. You can use pretty much any game on your computer with these and for games that don't have out of the box support these come with and SDK for you to use on them. It also allows for custom gestures. These seem a lot more accurate then console controllers, and for people who hate aiming with analog sticks.
The greatest thing about first-person shooters on the PC is having a mouse and keyboard. Precision controls at its finest. Why would you want to take that away?
@raccoozie Yes, actually, it does. There's no view model for it. Given your logic, you should be able to complete a extremely complex mathematical operation very quickly with zero prior knowledge of how to perform the operation. Not true? Oh yes, from what you say, this follows your logic exactly. Learn how these things work in games before you comment with things like this.
@Ar7ific1al Except in Kinect games the entire character's body follows your motion 1:1, on the fly, without any prior knowledge of the operation. If you're saying that either Razer or Valve aren't skilled enough to get a single arm to work when Kinect has the whole body...thats a different problem. Don't belittle these companies that way. They're better than a floating axe.
@raccoozie This thing and Kinect are two completely different things lmfao I'm not "belittling" Razer or VALVe. VALVe would have to do an overhaul on the engine to incorporate such a thing, which they are most likely not going to do. And just so you don't accuse me of belittling them again, I'll clarify for your tiny misunderstanding brain. VALVe most likely WILL NOT, I'm not saying they can't. Fool. Again, learn how these things work before making such comments.
@raccoozie Not really on the fly. It's response time is barley half of the frame rate of the game your playing and is sometimes down to almost a quarter. HYDRA responds nearly 4 times as fast as the actual game allowing a much smoother and enjoyable experience. This also has more then 3 good games out for it 125 to be exact and has a much greater SDK allowing software devs to make games for it easier and better. Skyrim will probably support it as well and I don't see Kinect doing that ever.
@TheBlitMaster this seems far more advance than kinect just look at how smooth the axe flows and how it reacts to the input, also skyrim does seem like the perfect game for the hydra support considering how they revamped combat
@dino88cro That's what I was saying it can handle much more then the Kinect could ever dream of. It's speed and accuracy are on par with their gaming mice. I doubt Skyrim will support Hydra but it definitely is more possible then Kinect. Plus if they put the SDK in the engine they won't have to because modders will do that for them. His argument with everyone was that Kinect was superior but it obviously wasn't.
@jman19mwi I hope they fully intergrate the controllers potential like they did with all the Valve games like using melee weapons from any angle to hit enemies. I hear that Bethesda wants to implement kinect support for it. I think they should really consider this.

@Thet3 Actually I like these but not for this. The new Portal 2 levels really show what these can do and really enhances the gameplay. These make playing normal games and adding nothing new awful. In fact, if I was playing with this game and someone said "I'm playing with these new Hydras!" I'd kick them.
