The fairing hasn't been on it for some time now. Also, I got rid of the bags as well. I can't help that the previous owner couldn't ride it. He is in his 70's and has a lot of health problems. I'm getting ready to replace the exhaust on it. She'll be getting plenty of miles. About matching the paint, I'm not concerned about that, I'm considering having the frame powder coated. Although, I've heard that powder coating is all that good.
17,000 don't mean much for a bike that SAT AROUND. Sitting is worst the no maintanceon these. CB900/CB1000 club is full of questions from "brought back from beyond" bike owner. We've talked before. Finding that original black frame "tint" just doesn't happen. It's not flat, semi, or gloss. No match, tried it before on the front cross-over on mine. I told you before that blue fairing is like blood on a white wall. Paint it to match man! I take mine with 70K original, rode, not stored.
@glazerguy58 I bought this bike from an old guy, who had it sitting in his barn for six years. I am working on cleaning the bike up. She's not bad for the price I had to pay. $200. My dad and I have put a lot of time, not to mention money, into fixing her up. Yeah, I have a lot of work to do, but with only 17,000 on the odometer, it will be worth it.
Hey man, do you think you could make a video on how the shifting works? I know there are 10 gears and two shifters, but i don't know how it all works.

what kind of polish did he use?
Mikeyssss 2 years ago
My dad used some commercial grade polish to bring the mirror like finish back. Then I use turttle wax polish to maintain the shine.

@mitchellcorp When you look as good as me, you just can't help it.

I suggest using the low 5 gears for riding on surface streets, and the high 5 gears for freeway

Stay in high all the time - the low is not needed with the power. I sometimes use the low 5 when stuck in slow traffic.
