Yes, there is a clever setup where solar panels during the day run a compressor to fill an air tank. At night it runs an air engine which runs a generator. That setup may also run to fill the tank on an air car. The possibilities seem endless when the mass populous put their minds together. It's unlikely you will ever see these hit the road, maybe but usually corporations that are hurt by such technology work hard to block it

I see that all forms of alternative technology are advancing. Solar, hydrogen, even nuclear energy as new discoveries continue to gain better control over the fission process through a Fast Breeder reactor where it actually creates it's own fuel which can feed itself on this chain reaction for 30 yrs then a DT system that burns up most of the waste having a much shorter waste storage life of 30yrs. Nuclear is getting safer over the yrs.
