This is awesome. I love it when talented bands cover other talented bands, or even better, collaborate. This is obviously a weird/natural crossover since Chris was in both bands in this case, but another example is REM doing Radiohead's "Lucky" and others in the free tibet concert. It was interesting to see how the RATM guys did the instrumentals, and as someone mentioned before, they nailed it.
I think Chris did an awesome job! Especially considering that this song was originally recorder almost 20 years ago! His voice has held up well! Tom Morello is so effortless with his playing! love it!
@kettlejitsu71 Actually over 20 yrs ago. This is off of their 1989 album. And this is actually their 2nd album, 1st being in 1987 or 88. Yes, before the so called nirvana really even did anything so it really still to this day make's me wonder how on earth nirvana got the claim of being the one's that made or popularized grunge. It really makes no sense, if anything I'd say it was these guy's without a doubt.
@emello4you always a matter of perspective and opinion. I go with SG all the way, for my own preference. But in terms of numbers and the real breakthroughs it was Nirvana and Pearl Jam that really burst on through to the collective awareness and climbed the charts and sold the megamillions of albums. SG cranked out the better tunes imho, but didn't sell quite as much
@FerenczyRAM I love Pearl Jam! They're actually one of my faves! I just dont understand why Nirvana started getting all the credit after Kurt died. Nirvana was very successful, but very short lived. If it wasn't for that album "Nevermind", they would've been nothing but another band. Take away that album "Ten" from Pearl Jam and look at all the other greats you've still got. Nirvana's only other success was "In Utero". The other 2 were complete failures.
@kordulus I saw those. I'm just saying you could have just typed in "Audioslave", or "Soundgarden" there, & would have had the answer without having to even ask anybody.
Oh well, they say the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.
As a number 1 soundgarden fan...i'd never think i'd EVER appreciate a cover of a SG song...let alone one with a different guitar solo...but Tom Morello pulls it off
@Robfalcon501 i also rarely like covers but this has to be one of my favorite song played by them, i have the original disc of this cover and let me tell you every time the intro of the song starts i get goose bumps
Louder Than Love, by Soundgarden. if you want it from Audioslave you will have to stick with a live version wich i had with a bonus CD when i bought the Audioslave live in Cuba DVD.
I like how Chris doesn't give a shit about what people think about his super strained voice at that voice, because he knows, and fans know what he's capable of really
@Gone1984 Guess you have to eat these words now, huh?( If you havent already once you take a listen to their reunion 2010 version of this on here) HA!
there's two chris cornell's, long hair and short hair. Long hair is in your face and short is pulled back and slick. after hitting crazy pitches for 20 years, his high pitch finally died on him, but he is still is in my top five fav. singers. Soundgarden, come to Atlanta
Good song, but yeah Chris sounds kinda hoarse. He still makes that wife beater look awfully good.. and I'll bet his wife is one of the happiest women on earth. And the drummer sounds fine... lighten up.
This would be better if Wilk didnt drum along to EVERY song like its Bulls on Parade. He has about as much finesse as a bulldozer. So boring. Matt Cameron makes him look like a chump.
i think the guitar (tom morello) is great, he can pull of anything, bass (timmy c) can kick ass, just like ben sheppard, chris cornell, wow are u kidding me his voice sucks, compared to old soundgarden, this great but the voice is not right!
Incredible version; nearly identical to Soundgarden's, and one of my favorites. Gotta be a harder song for Chris to do nowadays though, as he basically needs to scream the entire thing.
with a 4 octave vocal range chris cornell kicks ass...i remember buying louder than love when it came out...audioslave fans that havent heard soundgarden (although i doubt there are many) need to do so...i still listen to my copy of civilian...lol
thumbs up if tom, tim, & brad have 100% rocked the hell out of everything u've ever heard them turn their amps on for

it's hard to call it a cover when you have the original singer (or the original band) for the song. Frikking love all three bands!!!!!

Someone please school me on why soundgarden and audioslave sound exactly alike?
They obviously have no hate for each other,singing each others songs.. or is chris from soundgarden,quit and formed audioslave? wtf? my head hurts.
kordulus 1 year ago
@kordulus
Chris Cornell is the singer of both Soundgarden and this supergroup Audioslave
and Audioslave played songs of Soundgarden and Rage against the machine, that's why you may feel like you heard this band 10 or maybe more years ago

@kordulus Wow dude, really???
